Why is it assumed the Eagles will open on national TV?
Cause they're awesome? I would want the eventual SB champs on prime time every week.

I think the Eagles v Cowboys Thanksgiving game broke records, so apparently there is some draw there. It's also a pretty large media market being one of the largest cities in the country.

I am surprised by the Giants/Cowboys game to be honest, I thought it was more likely to be the Eagles there. But you are right, it makes it less likely for them to be on the nationwide broadcast.
