Dennis Allen's Press Conference. Nothing too exciting, did talk a little about JFF and QB posistion.
On Texas A&M QB Johnny Manziel: Obviously hes accomplished a lot at the collegiate level and has been a very good football player being the first freshman to win the Heisman Trophy. I think that speaks in and of itself about how good a football player he is, so I think hes a very talented football player. I think he is a multi-dimensional football player. I think hes able to throw the ball. I think hes able to throw the ball from the pocket, but hes also able to create things with his feet. As we get more into the evaluation process, I think hell be a fun guy to really evaluate.
On Terrelle Pryors 2013 season: I think you saw a young quarterback that needs time to develop and thats what you see with a lot of young guys, guys that need time to develop. There was times where he went out and played exceptionally well. There was times where he didnt play as well. But those are all learning experiences. Those are all things that hopefully learn from those mistakes that we made and be able to move forward and not have those same mistakes.
On if the quarterback position is a position of need: I think thats one of the things weve got to ultimately determine. Thats a position that were going to look at very closely. In my mind, weve got two young quarterbacks that have potential. Hopefully they can develop and reach that next step, but I think thats obviously a position that weve got to look at.
On if next years starting quarterback is on the roster: I dont know the answer to that yet, you know what I mean? I think thats obviously a position were going to look at to try to improve as well as any other position. But thats obviously a position we have to the quarterback position is the backbone of your football team and so we have to make sure that when we go out there this year that weve put ourselves in the best position to have success with the quarterback position.
