Shaq Lawson out until potentially October
Manny Lawson (no relation, Shaq's replacement) out week 1
Dareus out four games
Aaron Williams out indefinitely due to concussion
Ragland out for year
IK (replacement for Lawsons) out for year

Replying because of the recent news about Hanna.

Looks like 3 TEs now unless Gathers makes the roster. Might carry 6 receivers after all. Wonder how long Hanna will be out.

Why does it often feel like it's Safeties that are most universally revered? No one hates Mathieu or Ed Reed or Polamalu...

Is it because they have the best highlight reels?

Well, all those guys generally managed to avoid saying/doing dumb shit, so that helps.

I think it's more than that. I think it's due to the position as well, big play potential plus freedom/versatility plus the type of athleticism can just make a good safety more fun to watch than most.

There's more of a "he can do it all!" potential to it than to most other positions

There is a huge quality gap between the best safeties and the worst safeties in the league, teams are just envious of teams with great safeties.

Also safeties seem to rarely get blamed for mistakes by casuals, they think it's always a CB being burned. Like Polamalu late in his career when he was just running around like a chicken with its head cut off seemed to still be really popular with Steelers fans.

Same as comments for videos on Youtube the NFL put up on their channel. You have to wonder how many are trolls or which ones use ESPN or stats to think [x] player is any good.
