FMT, as soon as Madden started on his 'just being a kid', I immediately thought of you. I was like, 'Oh please, Madden, don't start that 'slingin an a slangin' bullshit.'

I know they played "baba o'riley" by the who at the beginning. I kinda stopped watching after that so I dunno if that's the song you're talking about.

Sunday, Sep. 26
Arizona at Atlanta, 1:00 pm (I'd pick my high school alma matter over AZ, though)
Baltimore at Cincinnati, 1:00 pm (No Heap for Baltimore is not good news at all)
Chicago at Minnesota, 1:00 pm (The Vikes are going to hammer them)
Cleveland at N.Y. Giants, 1:00 pm (Warner's a bum, he'll lose the game for them)
Houston at Kansas City, 1:00 pm (It appears that KC's luck has run out)
Jacksonville at Tennessee, 1:00 pm (I think that TN can put up enough points to keep Jax out of it)
New Orleans at St. Louis, 1:00 pm (Watching the Rams implode is going to be fun-Bulger isn't quite the bum Warner is, but still)
Philadelphia at Detroit, 1:00 pm (I fucking hate the Eagles, but they're good, and they don't choke until the playoffs)
Pittsburgh at Miami, 1:00 pm (Poor, poor Miami)
San Diego at Denver, 4:05 pm (Denver's going to be pissed)
Green Bay at Indianapolis, 4:15 pm (Upset special- I've gotta support my boys)
San Francisco at Seattle, 4:15 pm (Seattle's good, but not Super Bowl good, not yet, anyway)
Tampa Bay at Oakland, 8:30 pm (Jesus the Bucs look rough, though I hope they blow out Sapp's knee)

Monday, Sep. 27
Dallas at Washington, 9:00 pm (Zzzzzzzzzzzzz)

at least you didn't take Fred Taylor 7th overall in your draft. oooh, and peerless price as my number 1 reciever. dumbass

Fred's traditionally a slow starter, and having played half a dozen snaps all preseason doesn't make for a quick start. Not to mention the absence of Kyle Brady hits the running game hard (he's back this week). Don't throw him away now - and spare your pity for those who took Stephen Davis. :(

Funny Fact of the Week:

Through 2 weeks of NFL action, the Bucs offense has outscored the Bucs defense 9-7. I think this week the defense scores our 2nd TD of the year to take a lead!

Is it just me or does these picks seem especially hard for this week?

i just cant believe how many people are picking the bears over the vikings...

i know alot of people see the bears defense as being really good and able to hammer a passing team like the packers/vikings, but they lost two big names.. brown not being there is going to really really hurt.

we'll see what URLACHER can do...

also, grossman is good.

Yeah, I'm surprised how many people have hopped on the Bears bandwagon after the win at Green Bay. Which can only mean that fans WANT the Bears to become the NFLs champion once more. :D Having said that, the Bears have played the Vikings tough in Minny, but I think we'll need a breakout game by Grossman to walk out with the W. Coming out with a win in Minny would be absolutely huge for this team. Not only for division record but also for confidence. Bears have the youngest team in the NFL. If this young team can come together who knows what could happen...???

BTW I just heard on The Score that Tillman's injury is worse than originally thought. Slight hairline fracture of the tibula. Out 7 to 12 weeks. :(

Like I said I like Grossman, so I like to see him get some wins. Whether or not the Vikings show up is the question(which they dident monday). The Bears should give them a good fight, and hopefully enough for a win.

same here. the vikings are the same team they were last year. It's only a matter of time until they go 0-6 again.

Between last year and this year, Grossman is 3-1 as a starter (Beat minny and washington last year. Not counting the KC game 'cause he got hurt right away. Lost to detroit and beat Green Bay). Grossman is a winner! :D The scary thing for the league is that Grossman has already beat some pretty damn good teams and he bearly (BAD PUN MWA HAHAHA) knows the NFL experience yet!

soulja: It wasn't that game that made me hate the Rams. It was watching them mock the Vikings sideline during the playoffs either that year or the year before. I didn't like their style of football, and I don't like Mike "Hey It's Not Fair That We Run 5 Guys Down the Field and Our QB Gets Hit WTF" Martz. Oh, and I REALLY dispise Torry Holt. Faulk & Bruce are class acts, though.

skinnyrattler: Eagles fans get on my nerves. Sorry, mang. Not you or anyone on this board (though TheDuce22's insistance that TO caught that ball is pretty ridiculous and obnoixous) in particular, but some of the stories I've read over the years. I don't like the Raiiiiiduhs for the same reasons, it's nothing personal.

And seeing all the Favre/Packer hate on this board, you can all revel in our downfall in a couple of years when Favre is down the road, we don't have a star receiver, and we've got a green horn lining up behind a young offensive line. So don't worry about me.

I picked the Eagles because it's a pretty easy pick... Detroit hasn't gone up against really major teams yet from what I can see (although Chicago is a lot better this season than they were last season) and as much as I hate TO and the bizarre smugness of some Eagles fans (although I think these people are more than likely McNabb bandwagoners) they're clearly the better team in the matchup. If they choke again this year in the playoffs (which I still think is likely), I can't wait to see TO start whining and become a huge cancer to the team.

Yeah well i got both Bills RBs and no real back up to them...my only redeeming factor is Vick getting RB like rushing yards...but that isn't going to be an every game thing.

When the Pack is out, I root for the other teams from the division, generally. My old man's a Vikes fan, and I watch most of the games with him, so I've got nothing against them really. All the Vikings fans around here give me dirty looks and make snide remarks to me. Ah well. I've been a Packers fan since I was really little, like, in the Don Majkowski days, so I can take it all in stride.

i dont understand some football fans. no offense to lambtron, or whoever else, but i can't fathom myself saying "hmm, niners are out of the playoffs. GO RAMS!" or "GO SEACHICKENS!" it goes against everything i believe in. i can understand saying maybe "GO PANTHERS! (who are playing the rams)" but damn anytime you have an arch-rival you can NEVER root for them*

* the only instance where this has ever come up for me is Dallas Vs. Greenbay games in the mid-90's, and Rams Vs. Packers games the last few years. fucking worthless games i tell you

if my team didnt make the playoffs and the niners or rams did, I would hope to god that either of those teams got the worse beating in NFL History. Why? So I can laugh at you or Soulja. :D

If the Ravens didn't make the playoffs, there's no way I would root for the Steelers or Browns. But I would pull for the Bengals to do well, since (former Ravens defensive coordinator) Marvin Lewis is doing such a great job of turning that franchise around after years of mediocrity.

i don't mind detroit. i hate green bay. i hate minnesota. i've always hated minnesota more than GB because the players were consistantly dickheads. hovan i especially can't stand.

that being said, if detroit is in the play-offs i still would be rooting against them, unless it was against another NFC North team.

I would rather be Tampa Bay's offensive coordinator than cheer for the Falcons. (oh yeah NFC South smack baby)

As mentioned, if the Falcons/'Aints/Yuks made the playoffs and the Panthers didn't, I'd hope for them to endure the worst loss in franchise history than have some silly thing like division pride (Oh Panthers are in NFC South, I hope Falcons win that makes NFC South look better!...-_-).

I nominate Monte Kiffin as our new offensive coordinator! He's responsible for 100% of our Touchdown output!

Man Tampa is an easy target right now. While we're at it....

Hi, I'm Rich Bisaccia, special teams coach of the Tampa Bay Bucs. At Ole Miss, I was known as a dickhead that noboby liked. I also cried on the sidelines at the 2001 Alabama game. If my team could not get extra points blocked, they would have been in the playoffs last year.

I mostly just like watching football. Whatever. I like players, a lot who don't play for the Packers (Ray Lewis, Peyton Manning, et al.), and generally I root for their teams when watching them against other teams who I have no interest in. I also root against players I hate (T.O., for example).

When you boil it down, it's just a game. If the Packers win or lose it has no real effect on my life. So if cheering for other teams in the playoffs (Mind you, just hoping they win, not buying their merchandise, or claiming I'm a fan) makes me a "shitty" fan (even though I've been one for like 17 years...), then so be it, I guess. I just don't take it that seriously. I have other things in my life that are far more important.

Well the thing is I don't really hate any of the other NFL South teams, so if the Falcons are not in the playoffs, I wouldn't mind rooting for any of the others.....well maybe the Saints.

if the 49ers lose, my life is in shambles and i have a terrible week right off the bat. call me a bum for taking football so seriously, but it is one of the things i enjoy most in life (good or bad!). so, with that said, you can see why i dont want to see any garbage rivals of ours winning jack shit

Same here. After the loss to Green Bay and the loss of Steve Smith, I was really depressed for the next two-three days, and while not as depressed the rest of the week, I was still...saddened (for lack of a better word). In contrast, after the Panthers beat the Chiefs, I was euphoric and the week started off really well :D

I can understand. I don't think that either of the ways we watch/care about football is better than one another. Opinions is opinions, mang. I just don't think I'm doing anything wrong, is all! :>

ABC Punks NFL Players on 'You've Been Sacked'
By Jon Lafayette
ABC Sports will be punking NFL players in a new feature that will kick off during halftime of next week's "Monday Night Football." The feature is called "You've Been Sacked." Each week NFL players play a practical joke on a teammate for ABC cameras. In the first installment, to air during Monday's Dallas Cowboys-Washington Redskins game, St. Louis Ram receiver Torry Holt gets duped into taking part in a photo shoot, believing he's been named the best-dressed player in the league. ABC plans eight episodes of "You've Been Sacked."
