Yes. Why, what stupid fucking question are you going to ask now? I used to work at a shelter and people would bring pets in all the time if they had bitten a child. If they don't get adopted in adequate time, they could end up getting put down.

I can't stand the way people treat animals. They provoke them and then when they defend themselves, they put them in a shelter or beat the shit out of them. The whole subject pisses me off.

That's how I got my cat. When she was adopted the vet said the kid was "an awful little monster". My cat is still shy around new people but once she knows you, she's as nice as you could hope for in a pet.
Except when she knocks over glasses of water with her tail. It happens often enough that I don't think it's accidental anymore. :lol
Quit generalizing the way people treat animals. People get scratched and bit by their animals all the fucking time, and never overreact by sending them to a shelter. So stop overreacting in the same way by assuming they do.

You completely stretched what I said anyways. Note the part in my post a few up where I said when animals scratched or bit children/infants. You generalized it to scratches and bites in general, as is Red.
I meant scratching/biting kids. Almost all of the time, the kid was being a little shit and provoked it.
Except for the fact that there's a number of people that will adopt a pet, either mistreat it or half ass it, and then get rid of it when the pet "misbehaves". Usually by that point it's too late for it to be adopted again because everyone wants a puppy or kitten to raise and not a cat or dog that's a little older, and the animal is inevitably put down.
Happens all the fucking time.
Tell that to like 50% of the people who have kids.
I've been trying to convince my roommate for like a year now to get a new cat from the shelter since her old one died of old age. Cats are awesome.

Yea, and almost all the time people accept that provoking even a domesticated animal can still lead to biting/scratching of children, babies, and old people. It's common accepted fact. Your view is skewed by only witnessing the asshole idiots that don't realize that.
