I want us to be buyers and sellers at the deadline. I'm willing to part with Umberger, Brassard, Tyutin, and a first rounder. In return I want first line forward talent. Nothing less in return. (No, I'm not GM Scott Howson.)
I hope we battle this out and get into the playoffs. From worst to playoff team in a season would be a great story. We still have to give credit to Howson for fleecing Philly for Bob, winning the Nash trade, and putting a solid foundation for the new regime to build on.
Stolarz is a good prospect, but we all miss Bob. Stolarz and Laughton are both doing great in the OHL playoffs.
I'm going to assume this is true because I want it to be true.
Raymond injured?

I got pulled over going 180 on the number 1 to calgary. Was roadtripping with friends. Music was so loud we didnt hear the rcmp, who said he was following for 5 minutes. He was cool about it though.

This is true for every team but Philly strangely enough. Somehow he manages to get our shit right more often than most.
The eventual Sedin-Sedin-Ballard line is going to tear shit up

Ballard's injured too. Our D was mostly healthy (except for Bieksa), but when Ballard dressed as a forward he was cursed.
Raymond is day-to-day with a shoulder injury, but it seems fishy.

I hope Raymond won't get traded (hurts me to say this), but he's actually been doing really well this season, he deserves that 2nd line LW spot.
Considering that they've outplayed a lot of the teams below them lately, they might as well go for it.
They need the playoffs monies and they need to generate excitement in Columbus.
I hope they go for, trade 2 of their 1st rounders, narrowly miss the playoffs, and end up drafting 12th overall.
They need a scoring forward to make the playoffs this year and for the long term, so trading one of their three first rounders seems like a reasonable idea to me.

Someone needs to convince Briere that Columbus is in Quebec.
Stafford is a hell of a lot cheaper, I would assume. Pominville is a good player and has been for awhile. He just never should have been named captain.

Not only that, but the CBA/cap evasion stuff is going to be glorious in terms of "sending players down" (to a city that's a half hour drive from Vancouver).

Yeaahhhhhhhh it was pretty quick, but the conditions were good for the STI. I think I saw maybe 1 highway patrol on the way back.
They have 3 1st rounders this year, they can afford to give one up for a guy that might help them for the next couple of years instead of wait for a guy that wont be ready to contribute until 3-4 years from now.
Really off-topic but I'm working my last of a couple of days in a row tonight. I finish at 11pm. After that I'm going to do nothing but play Bioshock Infinite for a few days. I started playing on Wednesday afternoon, I think, and I've been so busy that I did not meet (very minor early-game character spoiler)

Did you also miss the most recent quote about Holland saying how he liked the how the team was made up right because they were winning (after the road trip) and that no trades would be needed with players getting back from injuries. Loves contradicting himself apparently.
Pretty much it is up to the team to figure out if they want to suck some more or play like they did during that road trip. They are probably going to choose to suck because this team doesn't care anymore and it is infuriating to watch.
This is a must win game, Columbus is sneaking up the standings, and St. Louis (WTF happened to them?) is still in it with 2 games in hand (winning both would put them 1 point above Detroit). No more excuses, you go out there and play hockey and actually put effort into the game, something most of the players aren't doing besides a small handful of them.
I wanted Philly to offer sheet him at $5 million a year, but I don't think he would have signed it. He certainly would have been worth a 1st and a 3rd.

We got a 4th rounder for him. That's fine. The guy is so fucking slow. Really good on the PK but he really had no place here anymore. You more have a SO specialist.

That's why I'm guessing they got him. Chicago needed another center who can center a PK. Bolland isn't good enough at the dot to get it done.
Hopefully this means I'll never have to see Kruger in a Hawks jersey again but I doubt I'm that lucky.
