Should have traded Semin in the offseason.

Yep. Boudreau and Semin should have been gone in the summer. At some point the gun is pointed at McPhee. These are the coaches he hired:

Cassidy - ZERO NHL coaching experience.
Hanlon - ZERO NHL coaching experience.
Boudreau - ZERO NHL coaching experience.
Hunter - ZERO NHL coaching experience.

I get the feeling McPhee has ZERO clue on how to build a winner.

Wow, that is mind blowing. Someone needs to step in and get a coach with some experience. The caps arnt some young team that is going to grow with a first time coach, they need someone that has been around and can command respect.

Habs still undefeated since kaberle came over and he's on pace for a PPG best trade ever? Also Solo Bealieua has a goal and an assist in the junior game tonight.

Yeah, and all 3 Habs survived the first round of cuts for team Canada.(Gallagher, Bournival, Beaulieu)

I wanted Hitchcock. I even wanted Carlyle. Nothing against Hunter and I hope he proves me wrong but it's just more of the same as before.

Luongo with the goose egg in the shootout! 0 saves

Hurricanes on Thursday. Hopefully the Canucks can get up for that one.

Huh? His season avg is .915 or so?

And yeah, the boys are playing pretty well. Briere's line has stepped it up which was needed
Oh, on yahoo over his career he hasn't been under .907. 915 avg-ish
We're talking about this season, dude, not his career. .897 this season.

I'm betting that next years Caps team will look very different. If they haven't turned around by the trade deadline, I expect a lot of people to be shipped out.

I don't think the caps will change coaches again this season...or maybe they will and get Carlyle :lol

Damn! Great finish to the game. Ward's box got stretched by Connolly!

I don't know man. Even if they suck by the deadline, I wouldn't want McPhee's stamp on this team any longer. Either fire him or tell him to stand pat and do nothing. I'd let him trade Semin because he's a UFA but beyond that, I'd rather a new GM put his own stamp on the team after the season.

Really nicely surprised about McGinn's production so far. Was ready to give up on him but it's awesome he has found his groove. Torrey Mitchell on the other hand :/

Cole now leads the team in powerplay goals (4) and has scored more PP goals then his entire season with Carolina last year. Thanks Martin for allowing darche to have his spot for the first 15 games you piece of shit.

Semin's value is falling the longer the Caps wait. With him being a UFA in the offseason, it's going to be tough to convince anyone to take him at the trade deadline, unless they don't have to give up much. A fleecing of the highest order would have to take place...by the team dealing with the Caps. Burkie, get on the phone.

Pens are a three game losing streak away from being out of the playoffs. Parity. Damn.

Hope that Malkin explodes next game.

Pensblog's report on tonight's contest:

"Jason Williams was taking slap shots on the powerplay. All you need to know.

Pens lose."

Our D is huuuuurting.

Question for Tabris: If the Sedins aren't soft then why did the sponsorship for Sportsnet from Cialis TRIPLE over the offseason huh?

Answer me that, answers guy!

oh my bad, wasn't following. yeah it's no surprise he had a shitty start to the season. someone defended him saying that he's only improving though - which is true.

he's 11-1-1 in the last 13... that stats will follow, but who cares if we're getting the most important stat; wins.

Bobrovsky's 21-6-3 record pre All-Star break last year says hi.

I do think Bryz will improve, although Philly has often been winning despite him, not because of him. I expect Vokoun's numbers to come around once Washington does, too. (they will)

THE WILD LOSE, THE WILD LOSE

Winnipeg: Giant Beaters.

Lol bob is an unproven rookie. Hes got the skillset but theres some things he needs to work on to become the #1. that and it's tough to compare this team to last, it's pretty much a completely different team.

That and I blame lavy for misusing bob... Badly.

I'm on the bryz train. I think he is the answer, at least this season. But I see the numbers on both the good (improving as of late) and the bad(awful start)

You're not the first to say this, but his numbers are really not good over the last eight games. Can't imagine he can be absolved much.

Oh god, this team. Pavelec is like a god among men (when not in Detroit perhaps) and yeah the to-be-named division next yr is going to be brutally hard but pretty fucking awesome.

Lol pavelec post game interview is great, dude is so blunt and honest about his play

Idk his stats may not be pretty but he has made the big saves to keep us in games that our known shitty goalies would have given up for us to lose(in the past), you know what I mean? Plus our D is extremely thin, but excuses are excuses.

Not absolved, but good enough for now at least.
I think he's been great in the last 6 (all wins) outside of the first period against Buffalo. He's done well not giving up back-breakers like Boucher and Bobrovsky did down the stretch and in the playoffs last season. He's also won on back-to-back nights twice.

Fixed.

I hope....

Awesome game tonight! Glad to see them come out with a more balanced game. Couturier looks so amazing defensively. Really hope Jagr and Hartnell can help him find his offensive touch.

On the Bryz thing.... eh. I think Bob has looked just as good and would be fine with him in net too. I had no problem with him last year though. I didn't expect Bryz to be noticeably better once he got paid.... Russian... history of not giving a shit. If we had this team minus schenn and simmonds and bryz, but plus richards I'd be so happy. Eh, hindsight and such...

We should do this again sometime.

That's what I was trying to say...

Sorry, brain is fried from 3 finals in 24 hrs

Edit: holy shit avs/sharks. 20 seconds left and tied it up

Sharks fucking suck. Fire coaching staff, trade Havlat. Burns can stay.

Brad Winchester in the shootout over Marleau, Couture, Burns, and Boyle. Brilliant Todd, where do you get these fucking great ideas from?!

I was saying the same thing! You guys have such a talented top 6 yet he was chosen for a crucial SO shot. My mind exploded.

But man do I love me some av's. That team has a lot of potential. Landeskog is going to be a bawss

Sharks couldn't even beat the Avs. Just barely coming back to tie the game. Terrible.

At least I'm 6 for 6 when I attend a Sharks game this season.

Smythe, Norris, Patrick, Adams.

They had better bring them back...

Anyways, the Jets continued to look great tonight. Pavelec's playing good, but the rest of the team is as well. If they played like that every night, they'd win a lot of games.

Also: if Bogosian gets suspended, that's bull. The dude turned as he was hitting him, he couldn't stop.

Went to the Canucks game. Columbus has a great arena. Luongo looked like he was blindfolded and Sedins were trying to finesse goals instead of scoring. Bleah.

Even with as well as the team is playing you would want to redo that trade? That blows my mind. I wouldnt trade Simmonds for Richards. Last years team started out really good also, but the D was so good last year, this year the D is bad but Bryz has been making big saves to keep them in games, and the offense is scary good. I like this years team a million times more then last years team, no way would I undo either trade.
