NHL January 2013 |OT| - "Double-B to Double-M" The Milbury Leafs Era Begins NOW

GOOD.

Seems like he's transitioning to his 4th line role well. Just like our kids should be for this season... *sigh* they grow up so quickly sometimes.

That place seriously lives up to it's name. I love it. Worth $10 a burger.

And Root Beer Floats... oh god I miss those so much. Root Beer doesn't exist here. Fuck everybody here who doesn't like it and Dr Pepper.

I'm so sorry. Root beer is amazing.

Now I know it was only 1 game but Carlyle seems to be getting through to his players a lot more than Wilson ever could.

He wanted to Grabo and JVR to play harder and they answer with 3 goals combined. I also was very impressed by Kulimen last night too.

Wilson never really communicated with his players that well and even some of them have said that during his coaching tenure, so its nice to see Carlyle getting involved with his personnel.

Now if we can only work on that powerplay, this team has a good chance at making the playoffs.

Well, I mean, we can go to specialist candy stores and grab a can of A&W for $3 a can...

But it's no $10 for a cube of Barqs in Vancouver :(

lol then you will have to trade him, cause that spot is already destined for William Karlsson. He is going to be a really two way minded center. His backchecking can be insane sometimes, If he loses the 3rd guy he is bound to catch up with him before a scoring chance. Didn´t know you had both of them in your pipeline.

I keep forgetting we have a resident Team Sweden expert here! I liked what I saw of Karlsson in the WJCF. I guess we'll have to see what happens with both Rakell and Karlsson in the future... At the moment it's Rakell who's getting NHL time.

Here's his latest report from Anaheim Calling...

William Karlsson, HV71, 1st line Center

Of the three Ducks prospects who went to the World Junior Championships, Karlsson seems to have had the most impact on his clubs since returning. In the five games since coming back from Russia, Karlsson has earned points in four of those games. His overall stats since returning: 5 GP, 6 A, even rating and 2 PIMs, which includes a three assist performance in a 6-2 win over Brynäs IF.

Past two weeks: 4 GP, 0 G, 3 A, even rating

Season total: 36 GP, 3 G, 19 A, plus-13 rating, 8 PIMs

Not bad at all!

Damn, all of you with your food talk. One of the downsides of Quebec is that there's really just nothing. None of the good chains are here and probably never will be.

When you're used to all of that from living in NYC and Philly burbs it's just so shitty to lose it all. I'd be ecstatic for just a Sonic, a Chick-Fil-A, and a Chipotle around here. Not to mention stuff like real cheesesteaks, pizza, things like Cheesecake Factory. The simple stuff.

Poutine doesn't make up for that at all!

Hartnell is out for a while, too. Probably has a broken foot. I'm glad this crappy season is a short one.

I'm willing to declare this season a victory if Couturier isn't traded in a knee jerk move.

Other horrible things are fine as long as they don't screw up next year.

Offseason predictions:
- We sign Teemu and Jagr to bloated 3 year deals. They retire after next season.
- G is traded along with a first round pick for Hall or Eberle and a third. This happens after we sign G to a cap friendly deal.
- We buyout Bryz. Then we sign Dominek Hasek.
- Couturier is traded for Slava Voynov or Luca Sbisa.
- Timmonen retires.
- NHL rules that Pronger is retired and we have to carry the cap hit because fuck Philly.
- Briere retires.
- Brayden Schenn named new captain, and continues to be fucking awful for all eternity.

If the Flyers miss the playoffs there would be some justice in them getting the #1 pick since the first year of the lottery system was introduced just in time for Philly to get stuck with JVR over Patrick point-per-game Kane.

They're in the US too. US and western Canada maybe?

They're in the US, and actually there was one right near where my mother's old office used to be in NJ, but strangely the only Red Robin I've ever actually been to was the one on Robson in Vancouver.

Geez, that had to be something like 19 or 20 years ago now. It's been far far too long since I was in Vancouver.

I know I went to at least one Devils game sometime in the '80s, back when they still had green in their unis, but the first hockey game I actually REMEMBER going to was Pavel Bure's debut game in Vancouver vs. the Jets. Was a draw if I recall correctly. Fun times.

Not surprised to see the Rangers dealing for a forward. We're lacking depth up front, and it looks like Kreider is one more shitty game away from being shipped back to the Whale. Have to feel pretty good about tonight, though. Now that I've said that, watch us get shellacked.

Radar released from his KHL contract. Expecting signing/trade announcement tomorrow.

So fucken glad, especially after losing Steve Downie for the season. He averaged a point a game there so hopefully he can bring even 75% of the point production to there avs. Oh and if they trade him they are cheap unless he trully is demanding 5 million.

And Red Robin rocks. Great bar too.

TSN Hockey Insider Bob McKenzie, speaking during The Quiz on the NHL on TSN on Wednesday night, was asked if the Canadiens will eventually sign or trade their prized rearguard.

"I think it's ultimately heading toward a trade," said McKenzie. "They're just too far apart on the term of the contract - P.K. wants long, the Canadiens want two years - and they're probably at least $2.5 to $3 million per year apart on where they want to be. Ultimately I think this ends up in a trade."

Ouch.

Don't be cheap Bergevin, Molson can afford it easily.

Yeesh...

Guess attendance numbers in some markets are back to where they normally are.

According to ESPN... PHX was only at 48.5% capacity last night. Even the Rangers didn't sell out MSG with only 94.5%.

Wildcard berths that can't beat teams without a winning record should have homefield advantage

Don't worry, guys! Sale announced before the end of the month!

Why do they only want 2 years for Subban? Is it because he is black?

Club policy to sign guys to bridge deals before they sign their huge contract. I can see why, they don't want young guys coming up thinking they're more important than anyone else. I just hope they get it done at this point, I don't care if it's 6-7 years, as long as it's in the $5 million range.
please?
