I wouldn't call it a hot button as much as it is people not responding well to a really stupid way of trying to feel superior to others. You can appreciate your O6 all you want, that's all fine. The second you start implying that non O6 teams are jokes or not to be taken as seriously though, like you've done from the beginning, don't be shocked when no one wants to put up with it.
I get that. Just the responses really don't seem to mesh...with anything.
I've never implied that all non original six teams are jokes.

I don't have a problem with either of those franchises really, I think Florida's descent is sad and I feel bad for the remaining fans there. Things may get better though.. I don't know.

You don't detect a bit of hyperbole there? Eradicating an entire conference in the NHL would seem very, very backwards. Some of that has to do with the whole East vs. West notion.
There are also teams in the Eastern Conference who aren't in the original six.
Also, Red Man is basically agreeing with me as well, for an example of someone with hostility towards me reaching a similar conclusion.
