Bullshit. Twitter is fine. People are stupid and try to argue over it.

Twitter blows. It's a platform that inherintly leads to miscommunication through its 140 characters or less format. Trying to follow Twitter arguments is like piecing together clues from National Treasure except there's no real reward at the end.

Thats why people are stupid when they try to discuss over the service. The service is ok. The people are the one that misuse it.

She's skinny and female - at the very least it was referencing her type.

And the race thing? Lol. If it was the other way round Tay would be the bad guy, it is hysterically unfair on her

Well, if there was even the slightest modicum of truth to Nicki's words concerning the industry, it's already hysterically unfair in Taylor's favor.

It was aimed at the people who decide VMA nominations.
It still comes across as bitchy considering the facts though - it isn't like it is an all white set list/all skinny females.

True, but if taylor complained about something in a similar way she'd get shitted on by everyone.

Yeah definitely; it's pretty nonsensical all things considered.

And I get why it might make Taylor a bit sensitive.. she is essentially suggesting her video shouldn't have been nominated. But it's mainly aimed at the VMA's themselves.

Anaconda was like maybe a tier above BET Uncut level.

I get what Nicki's saying and in general, I agree. But looking at this specific video and this specific set of nominees who got in over her, I wouldn't have nominated it either. This really wasn't the hill Nicki wanted to fight on.

She has learned behavior from Kanye or something.

I wonder what affect having the brattiest superstars in the history of superstardom has on younger generations.

I thought I was being called out. I missed the point, I misunderstood, then misspoke. I'm sorry, Nicki.

She has a better case there (that was a great vid and a much better song), but even then the point is kind of hurt by the fact that Beyonce got nominated solo. lol

In the end, this just wasn't Nicki's year.

She has learned behavior from Kanye or something.

These artists really are whiny as fuck nowadays. So much so even they make a good point, you kind of take it with a grain of salt because it's so anchored in entitlement.

Indeed - a bit surprising considering they're meant to be friends. You'd have thought she would have worded it better.

Our long national nightmare is over.

Hopefully this means that Swizz did some reading to find out what "intersectional" means.
It doesn't mean "letting people play the race card when attacking you and promoting other people's even more vicious attacks, so you can't say anything back to them," fyi.

I don't even think Tswift was wrong in thinking she got called out. She probably just wants the shitstorm to end because now that Nicki went there, there'll be enough bad publicity that it's no-win if it drags out.

Nicki was not entitled to a really hard-to-get award, nor was Beyonce (despite what Kanye thinks) and it's getting old watching Tswift get bullied every time she wins something. And I'm not even a Tswift fan.

Sorry your girl got jobbed :(

Hey I have no dog in this fight, I don't like pop music at all. I'm just here because popcorn.gif and I'm calling it like I see it. I'm a big advocate of intersectionality and it doesn't mean accepting viciousness, disrespect, and entitlement from someone just because they're a person of color.

Yeah, sorry Nicki.
Your video wasn't nominated because MTV are racists, but because the video is a stereotypical sexualized bit featuring women with fat asses shaking it around. Hardly material for awards.

To be fair to Nicki..

"My Humps" won a Grammy.

But she didn't. Please tell me in the tweet where Nicki came for Taylor when Taylor felt like she was being attacked?

Nicki will never have the opportunity to sit where Taylor is sitting because of the exact reason Nicki is complaining about. Reading is fundamental
Yeah because Nicki is far less likeable. Excessive profanity and hyper sexualization is going to make others think differently of you. People are judged by their music. Taylor Swift largely sings about love and heart break and doesn't use profanity or a lot of sex appeal. So yeah, its no surprise Nicki Minaj doesn't get treated like America's sweetheart. She doesn't deserve it.

I've listened to too much rap not to recognize subliminals when I hear or read them. She's clearly talking about media as well as Taylor.

It's too bad that Taylor Swift has the most transparently fabricated persona of all pop stars, then.

I'd say fuck off, but I'm afraid it might be too much profanity for you to handle.

How so?

People who get a chance to meet her seem to say she is nice.

Her country stuff was phony but she transitioned away from that awhile ago. A lot of her music has just been about her being a hopeless immature young adult and she seemed to own that pretty well.

Itd be one thing if she was trying to play the good girl card and then getting caught acting racist, passing out at parties, fucking random dudes, doing drugs, and using lots of profanity, but she doesn't.

She's pretty genuine. She might have a bitchy side, but most people do. Sorry, but a fabricated celebrity personality was Disney pushing purity onto the Jonas Brothers. Taylor Swift is herself.

Zing?

Two vapid talentless puppets throwing a hissyfit nuanced issued via Twitter just seems to create the perfect storm of "who gives a shit?" for me.

Neither of the two are evenly remotely qualified to carry on a conversation about the fucking weather, let alone on body image, sexism in media, or any of the other half dozen or so of issues that this brings up.

They are two string puppets having a slap fight on stage while a million idiots erupt into applause because their outfits are shiny and the stage has bright lights.
I can't even fathom what I'm reading here. I mean... what?

Horrendous post.
