NieR series Producer Yosuke Saito confirmed that Yoko Taro, Keiichi Okabe and Takahisa Taura (NieR: Automata core members) are working together on an unannounced project that might or might not be NieR!

Despite Taura leaving Platinum Games and starting his own studio he says that the project has not changed!

I am just happy that Takahisa Taura is seen as part of the core team. Loved how the characters in Automata felt to control and to fight with. Also loved what he tried to do with the combat in Astral Chain, even though I am too much of a retard to be any good at it.

I mean it's already happened twice. SINoALICE and Nier Reincarnation. Both directed by Yoko Taro with Okabe as a composer and both published by Square.
I would hope they aren't that tone deaf, but it's still a nonzero chance.
