I dunno how y'all can have your evade button that close to your attack buttons, just was not for me at all. It was the one decent thing I picked up from playing FFXV.
Dunno about anyone else, but it feels more natural, especially after having a history of playing fighting games. Movement with the left hand, and buttons/cancels with the right on a fighting stick.
Finishing the game up, before I go for ending E, is there anywhere with the rundown of all of the side quests? Seems like the wiki pages/guides I've found aren't complete at all.
Also, the
animal lover
second side quest was heartbreaking.
Was getting Roc vibes from the leader of the pack. His archive entry was so heartfelt.
I was surprised how much I liked having shoot and evade on the same side triggers and bumpers on a ds4 on steam. It really felt like the game was made for the ds4.
I can totally understand not liking the button layout if using other controllers though
I mean my controller(Razer Raiju), although it is a PS4 controller, its button style mimics the xbox more than playstation.
I feel like I wouldn't have liked those bindings even if I did play on a true PS4 controller though. I dunno it seems alien to me having dodge on a trigger and shoot on a non-trigger button. Having them both on the same side just seemed silly either way too because you'd have to use some kind of weird grip to press both at the same time.
That all said, perhaps weirdly of all, the biggest factor for me rebinding that shoot button came from the hacking. I dunno why but I just kind of struggled to hold the R1 button while directing the fire with the right stick. I think this possibly might be due to the size of the controller, not allowing for a nice enough under-grip that I could keep the aim steady.

With my Razer Raiju, I'm using:
L1 - Evade
L2 - Pod Fire
R1 - Weapon Switch
R2 - Pod Program
Triangle - Heavy Attack
Square - Light Attack
Two extra buttons near shoulder buttons are DOWN and ACTION, for quick item healing without having to take your thumb off sticks. The other two buttons behind the controller are LEFT and RIGHT for pod switching. I'd prefer to add in some macros here, but Inputmapper currently doesn't support this controller.
For the moments when I simply had to rely on Pod DPS I used my middle finger to dodge. The dodge window is super generous in this game so it's not a problem if I'm a little bit slower pressing the trigger.
Fortunately the XBO controller is super comfy compared to the DS4, personally speaking. The only downsides are the dogshit d-pad (unresponsive or double/triple presses yay) and loud face buttons.
Hacking. The answer is always hacking with 9S. Save your "I must play this without my most powerful tool" mentality (that I shared at times) for the part after you bring down the field.
If you have it, I'd suggest using Pod C, as well. The lock on helps with fast moving targets when you're having to dodge a lot.
it means i killed him right? Asking because i moved to fast towards the dopr when attacking it and the screen immediately got black so i didn't understood if i actually killed it or not.
Still, that was way too sad, especially because
even if the kids dying was predictable, the fact that they killed themselves following Pascal's teachings made it much worse
it really shows how above pretty much every other game this one is.
-I took down
all three giant things
, how close am i to finishing C?
-Is it normal i'm still missing a few Pod abilities? Shows that i'm at 82% but looking around i've done every sidequest avaible except the enemy data one.

I need to go back and see the deal with the apologetic machines at doors as well as the 3 wise machines. Whoops, well I can rush this new game before Persona next week
Keiichi Okaba composed it, as well as the equally as good OST for the first game, and probably other Taro games if I recall correctly. Nier and Automata's OST are the main ones that grabbed my interest though.
I said "goodbye" to Pascal as A2. On 9S I destroyed the core in the Forest Kingdom's tower. I have to head to the Flooded City area now. A2 isn't selectable anymore.
I haven't actually played the first Nier but I've watched quite a few analysis / summary videos. Without any specifics, how crazy is this game's story / lore compared to the original?
