Didn't want to make a new thread (and couldn't really find a suitable one to bump), but just wanted to let people know (if they don't already) that DMC3 has finally seen a price drop, it's now 24.99 on ebgames.com (and probably in store). I've waited forever, finally will get to play this awesome game...no excuse not to get it now

I've seen 'em all. God of War matches up just fine with Ninja Gaiden and Devil May Cry 3.

Almost anyone who disagrees is an elitest who insists games need to be almost impossibly difficult to be good.

And the reviewers agree.

Now don't get me wrong, I played GoW and enjoyed it to an extent. However, when you place NG/DMC3 and GoW right next to each other and compare the core aspects that make up the action genre, you will see a few respects where GoW can be considered average. It mainly draws down to depth and difficulty as far as I am concerned.

It didn't have CG nipples like GoW did. That lowered the score quite a bit. Oh... and the graphics might be a little prettier...

Yes, and there was no backtracking. And never any question of where to go, just nonstop action.

GoW had backtracking, and I totally got lost on where to go. Partially due to the fact that I stopped playing for a few weeks. NG had a lot of backtracking. That's my only complaint about NG.

Anyway, back to the thread topic.

NG kicks the living shit outta DMC3. There is no comparison. NG's combat was absolutely fantastic and challenging to boot.

But, I have to give my nod to RE4 being the best game overall. GoW was fun while it lasted, but hardly a GOTY contender.

I love a good challenge, but 2 hour levels with no save points and bosses that usually end up killing you? Hell no. Fuck that shit.
