It has everything to do with anti-semitism; Cultural Bolshevism was a concept of the National Socialists; a war against "degenerate and Jewish art".
It's already been explained to you why that's a fallacious argument. Your choice to ignore the rebuttal doesn't mean it's going away anytime soon. A Genetic fallacy is still a fallacy, no matter how many times you reiterate it.
It is categorically false that the contemporary use of the term you're objecting to is a cry against "degenerate and Jewish art". Implicitly or explicitly, the idea
never enters current discussions.
To say Marxists ideas are applied to cultural phenomena is utter nonsense. Both Karl Marx and the Frankfurt School were in fact against political correctness.
You need to pay closer attention to what's being said. My broad definition stated that it was "an attempt to apply". I said nothing about how successful or even how legitimate those attempts were. Concepts such as oppression and privilege indeed are attempts to transfer original Marxist concepts such as exploitation and class conscientiousness to broader social and cultural phenomena.
Nowhere has it been written that Western values should be subverted.
Then you need to pay closer attention to today's laymen cultural Marxists, whose goals explicitly involve exactly that. Because that's who's being targeted by the term, not the Frankfurt School, not Marxism itself.
It is intersectionality.
In fact, the Frankfurt School was very much in favor of Western ideas, especially those rooted the the Enlightenment; reason in particular. Their critique was that those values, WESTERN values are not compatible with Capitalism.
I'm not getting into this idiosyncrasy of yours here.
That makes them in fact, defenders of Western values, not people against them. But I probably cannot change your mind anyway;
If only you had bothered to read the opening paragraph where I said the term currently and colloquially does not apply to the Frankfurt school. If only you would bother to read that which you claim you are replying to.
you're not going to watch the videos I included.
You're not going to read The Dialectic of Enlightenment, which has an entire chapter dedicated to the negative influence of modern media and popular culture.
I'm not getting into a debate on the Frankfurt School when my basic point is that the trem Cultural Marxism, nowadays, does not apply to the Frankfurt School.
