Nintendo confirms Switch 2 games will still taste so bad you will want to spit them out (Lick and reject) (Eurogamer)

Original Switch games are coated in denatonium benzoate, which on Nintendo's own support page, the team describes this as "a bitter-tasting substance". But don't worry, it isn't harmful to your health. It is often used in those polishes that are meant to deter wearers from biting their nails (a tactic my parents' deployed on me when I was younger, I can still recall the taste very well)

wtf ? ^^

If nintendo kids are as stubborn as my 6 year old self, they will just lick the cartridges until the bad taste dissipate.
Still it must feel weird for fully grown adults to buy and play something so obviously aimed toward children that most of the manufacturer selling points are aimed at the parents of the one who plays.

I'm stuck in the classic nostalgia loop and I do genuinely like the games they make. They remind me of Disney (classic Disney) the games are fun

Damn Nintendo, I wanted to make a cake for Switch 2 launch and now they're blocking me from using the carts? Fuck this anticonsumer monopolistic corporation

It's pretty common knowledge that Switch cards have a bittering agent added to them to keep kids from swallowing them. Why would this be any different on Switch 2 cards? Isn't it a good thing to protect kids (and dogs) from eating plastic and silicon?

$80, and you can't even eat them? Damn.

Thank god. Dipping your cart into the bourbon comes in clutch for an Old Fashioned if you've run out of bitters.

Hold on I just got a great idea for a pop-up video game bar…
