Nintendo Dorect| Chrono Cross Remaster revealed

Time to play it again! Including Radical dreamers is a nice touch. Next, can we get a good version of Chrono trigger??

Oh Yeah Yes GIF by TipsyElves.com

With Radical Dreamers to boot? I'm in there on day 1.

I love this game - the soundtrack is one of the all time greats, in my opinion - but... that trailer isn't filling me with joy. The amount of polygon jitter is worrying - that was originally an artefact of the PlayStation 1's hardware, and should easily be correctable today - and the FMV quality seems pretty low, although it's hard to tell if that's YouTube compression doing its thing. I'll see what the final price is, if its cheap, at least I can play it on a modern console without having to break out my PS1.

Not gonna lie. I was expecting way more from a "remaster", it honestly looks terrible.

However it's chrono cross so i'm getting it anyway...not at full price though

The soundtrack for the game is great and I've always wanted to check out Radical Dreamers but Chrono across was a disappointment to me and there's not enough here to bring me back to it.

With Triangle Strategy, Live a Live (which looks great), and heavy hitters like Elden Ring, Horizon and Xenoblade 3 coming this year, there's just not enough time for me to replay this again.

Oh god, the original Radical Dreamers is on this.

I don't even like Chrono Cross but now I have to buy this to support my Satellaview game localizations.

Way to go Square.

Haven't played Trigger but I hope I will some time this year on PC, is this any good? I ask because it was the last one in the serie so maybe it wasn't liked enough?

Uh oh! He's telling the truth! Quick! Lets talk about how one of his other opinions are terrible!

This guy is a HUGE Nintendo fanatic, he even tried to say that Luigi game looked like a Pixar movie, so this guy really wears those rose tinted glasses.

This game isn't worth the money they'll charge.

It's a shame that this is the quality(or lack thereof) that Square is producing these days. This is shameful and embarrassing.

The sequel that effectively shit on the much beloved original. No thanks.

I've heard about those story elements. Don't like retconning the original ending to a downer, but I still want to play the game for the first time, and I'll just pretend this is an alternate universe and that the main universe still has Chrono and friends live happily ever after.

Pre ordering. And if there's a physical release I'll buy it again. Anything goes for Chrono series.

A genuine surprise it's coming to Xbox, very happy about this, I'll buy it day one to show my support :)

Yeah, for some reason a ton of Square Enix stuff just doesn't come to Xbox. I get that the otaku crowd is strongest on Nintendo and PlayStation or maybe PC platforms (and then there's some supposedly moneyhat stuff like FF VII Remake...although I really expected it'd jump to PC and Xbox together with the Intergrade release, but it went PS5 first and then only PC so far) but the porting process is so minimal these days that it surprises me ever time Xbox isn't in the line-up. Stuff like Voice of Cards, Actraiser Renaissance, Centennial Case, NEO World Ends with You, they just don't even think about Xbox as a possibility.

Luckily, Chrono Cross RDE bucked that trend.

And then oddly octopath traveller comes to Xbox out off nowhere and still isn't on playstation as far as I am aware.

I feel like square enix only bother if they can get a game pass deal.

But they are leaving money on the table with ff7 remake imo.

Most likely going to buy this title when on sale, have fond memories about it. But by the gods... It is a bad looking "remaster".

Never got to play the original; reviews at the time dogged the hell out of it though for being so different from Chrono Trigger. Then again, reviewers back then got lots of other games wrong too, like System Shock and King's Field, just because they weren't DOOM clones!

This is supposed to be multi-platform, right? I hope it comes to PC as well. Kind of funny dudes like NateTheHate were trying to say this was a PlayStation timed exclusive, though; if that were the case Nintendo wouldn't be the spot to reveal it. Hopefully if it does well enough a 3rd Chrono game can get made (and maybe even a Parasite Eve remake, you never know).
