I genuinely surprised they put cc on consoles before putting CT on consoles.

Bizarre decision, especially since that CT port is years old at this point.

Probably using that octopath engine or artstyle. Which sucks because CT can be a vibrant game, but everything I've seen from octopath and triangle, every colour is dark.

SE missed a great oportunity here. A full FFVIIremake treament would be too much to ask, but some improvements, that I can't see, are needed.
Will play it when it goes to PS+ in a year or two.

Well, I came so hyped about a remake after that Another Eden collab trailer that I left disappointed with the fact this is just a lazy remaster kind of remaster. Yes, I like the visual novel being bundled with the game, but come one that was so lazy. Still gonna replay it.

Jesus Christ, it looks so bad, they put the absolute minimum amount of effort and then some. I might still get it, just to support a Chrono rerelease, but this is so sad.

The Klonoa remasters look way better.

So this just has upscaled backgrounds/textures and higher resolution 3D graphics, plus maybe a fast forward feature and save states, right? Basically the same experience as playing with an emulator.

Guess it's better than not having it at all, but it's kinda hard to get hyped for this one. Probably the least interesting JRPG announcement of the direct

Console can't even remaster gen 7 games 10+ years ago.

It easily has the power, it just would take more effort than they want to put in to it

It's not out yet but they are calling this style "HD 2D". Live A Live remake (announced yesterday) is also using this style. And knowing Square Enix they will probably remake all their old 2D games like this.

I guarantee it is not. For most PSX games if you try to increase the FPS it also speeds up the game as the game speed and fps are tied together. Allowing 60 fps would require code changes which Square Enix has never done for any of their ports.

Yea, Square sucks for porting! Look at Kingdom Hearts cloud versions, 1&2 could definitely be done!

Seems the only way Switch gets good ports are when Nintendo pays them for it or studio dedicated to making Switch games like Octopath and Triangle!

I love Chrono Trigger, but never got around to playing Chrono Cross. I'm gonna catch up on it this time.

I must have played Trigger about twenty times now. I have no idea why, but I have barely touched Cross. I've probably dedicated less than an hour to it. Shame.. But I'll catch up..
