Nintendo Downloads - October 2012

No digital Mario Tennis Open for west, the only game I don't have... Probably it'll be out with the next batch, including Pilotwings Resort, Pokémon Rumble Blast and Tetris Axis.

I very much doubt Konami has the license to re-release Tetris Axis digitally.

I'm hanging out for Kid Icarus, personally.

It's funny how demos feel like such a commodity on the eShop, I'm compelled to download them even when I have little to no interest in the game anyway. I think I've downloaded every demo to date, but only played about a fifth of them.

I don't do this on any other platform.

Just got the LOTR demo, I just want to stare at that ring in 3d looks fantastic

I'm glad I'm not the only one. I was getting concerned. Ha ha. How silly of us all.
we won't let them have you, precioussssssssssssss

p.s. Meat or Die is the most repulsive, unfunny crap Nintendo has yet released on Nintendo Video. I wish they would show the new season of From the Basement 3D already.

I just went on the 3ds eshop and saw that Professor Layton and the Miracle Mask is a retail only release. Any idea why that is? Sucks.

downloaded pullbox, pretty good am liking it

ive just finished tutorial levels and it wont let me scan in QR codes cause theyre too advanced PFFFFFF shhh i just want to play on my pokemon

Yeah. Meat or Die is like some first semester animation student's shitty demo reel.

Been waiting 10 years for Last Blade 2. Strange that they'd pick Virtual Console this late. Why not PSN?
SNK seemingly gave up on Neo Geo Station late last year. Virtual Console is handled by sublicensing to D4 though, who seems pretty active (retro reissues is pretty much the main thing they do). This isn't really an either/or sort of thing.

Hopefully Mark of the Wolves is next. D4 also needs to go back and bring Twinkle Star Sprites and Waku Waku 7 imo, then my VC Neo collection will be complete. :)

I want to try the two GBA iterations of Golf and Tennis. Completely missed those :(

Mario Tennis GBC was pretty rad but I played the living hell out of it before, and don't feel too compelled to revisit it. Gimme Power Tour!

The situation is reversed on the GBA. Toadstool tour is the best portable golf game ever and Tennis is merely ok.

I loved Mario Golf on the GBA. I had no idea what I was getting myself into with the RPG modes-my young self was amazed that all of those features were in a golf game.

I just finished Mole Mania, great game. Whoever did the cutscenes deserves a medal; they are super funny. The bosses and puzzles were surprisingly varied, really didn't expect so much from a GB game. It's too bad the difficulty is all over the place and the controls are a bit unresponsive; sometimes you will move farther than you want to.

Anyone who likes puzzle games with action elements, should check this out, especially as it's only 2,99.

Already have Mark of the Wolves on 360 though, that was actually one of the main reasons I bought the system. Don't know if I'd get it again.

Uunnnngggghhh. I want Donkey Kong but the only game in the promotion that's worth the price to me is Paper Mario, and I want that game card.

Maybe I'll just buy it as a download anyway.

It's a big shame the new Brain Age isn't part of the DK promotion, cause I was definitely planning on downloading that.

I finished that Saturday morning, as well. Was rather disappointed to learn there wasn't really any bonus for 100% completion. I suffered through those blankety-blank bonus stages for nothing?

Swell game, though. Would probably work well for a Wii U eShop title (underground on the screen) or something.

No reward for 100% was a bit of a let down, was really hoping for an extra cutscene. The bonus stages weren't that bad once I realized I could stun Jimbei.
I think it would work even better on the 3DS as the screen are closer together. The way it's structured (1 screen= 1 puzzle) is also perfect for portable play.

I haven't checked Wii VC updates for over a year but now I see there's still no Yoshi's Island. Seriously? I sold my Wii 3 years ago and I said to myself I'd buy one again if it had Yoshi's Island.

Also, are all European Virtual Console releases 60Hz now? The 50Hz VC games really annoyed me.

Nope. NOE still don't have a clue what they're doing. A small lining though:
* Every TG16 games runs in 60Hz (plus later releases fixed that Vaseline filter, didn't get applied to earlier releases due to Nintendo's daft patching policy*).
* Every VC arcade game runs at 60Hz. Small selection though (my guess is sold badly, very specific emulators needed so not worth work) and remember Golden Axe has less stages than the Mega Drive version.
* NES, SNES and N64 imports are 60Hz (these cost 100-200 points more). For some strange reason the Mega Drive imports are 50Hz so steer clear of those.

Maybe this'll change for the Wii U. I doubt it though. Thats one thing that frustrates me with Nintendo is even though they're getting more social its still impossible to talk to them and ask them to have someone spend 5 minutes putting an if statement (or even an options screen) in to help people get the most joy and value out of their products (something they pride themselves in).

*-Patch=new game so needs to spend months in the lot check. It also resets sales to zero which is a problem for WiiWare since you're not paid unless you reach a sales figure in 24 months of release.

Realizing I could stun Jinbe (which I figured out early on) didn't really help matters. He rarely stayed stunned long enough for me to line up enough shots to make it worth it.

So I "won" a free download of the Dinosaur Office video. I suspect everyone who actually entered the contest won.

Mega Man in Europe...it BEGINS.

Also I wish they wouldn't forget the GB games while they are at it. While MM2 GB is terribly unrepresentative of that name 3-5 and both Xtreme games are quite good!

Mega Man is good, but...I wanted a demo :(
Oh well, Mutant Mudds, here I come ( again ).

That sucks. I might import a Wii from the US then.

What about NES games on 3DS, are they 60Hz?
