Nintendo E3 2012 Conference Thread

Man that was not what I was expecting and you could tell they were holding a lot back from their studios. I think this is where their secrecy hurts them more than any other games company.

Between the big three, Sony has won E3, and whoever says otherwise is craaazy. The only bad thing Sony has was the wonder book but Nintendo's conference is....is.....no

lol I love how almost everyone keeps saying ubisoft has won, and although true I want to know what you guys think who won between the big three

Well, it's now really clear the current creative directors of Nintendo need to retire. They have absolutely zero notion of what video game is nowadays (and I'm not thinking dudebro/cinematic games).

Do people really think this was worse than Microsoft's? Really? It may not have been great but it at least had games with one of those being Pikmin 3 and another being a new Paper Mario.

Nintendo should be ashamed of themselves. That was easily the worst E3 conference of all time. For a new hardware launching this year, there was absolutely nothing shown for anyone to consider it as a viable platform. It also appears hardware specs were correct as it's basically in the same class as current gen.

Worst E3 ever.

I have the strangest feeling that after the 3DS conference we will be saying..."why didn't you put all this into one conference and have one okay one rather than 2 bland, filler ridden ones?"

I'd take a 2D Mario over most 3D Marios. However I don't think NSMB2 will be very good, since it seems to be based on collecting coins.

Anyway people who take this shit about a thousand times more seriously than they said, praying yesterday that "NINTENDO WILL SAVE US!!!", deserve collapsing under their own melodrama.

Nintendo, if you think this is the future of video games...

I know something's bad when my brother looks fucking pissed. He usually likes looking at Nintendo conferences, lol.

I can't believe this. I wasn't even hyping this conference. I just expected more from them instead of... what we got.

Welp.

Microsoft - 4/10
EA - 5/10
Sony - 6/10
Ubi - 8/10
Nintendo - 2/10

As mentioned: No Retro. No Zelda. No 3D Mario. No Mario Kart. No Smash Bros. No Star Fox or F-Zero. Few new 3rd party games. In fact, no megatons of any kind. Nice hardware, a clear step up from current gen hardware based on their 1st party games, but it's hard to know how many 3rd party games will take advantage of the boosts the hardware provides (vs lowest common denominator development). Most of the controller screen uses are gimmicky...but they will be gimmicky. Anyone who's used a DS or 3DS knows ideas tend to be limited there.

Final Nintendo score depends on what they do at the 3DS show, but wow. So underwhelming. Snatching defeat from the jaws of victory.

Ubi clearly had the best conferences and the best collection of games. Sony showed some really interesting NEW IPs and the rebirth of some old ones. Not great, but sufficient. Everyone else could have stayed home.
Pretty solid scoring there. I don't know, I might put Nintendo at 3 or 4 though. If you consider the relativity of it all - Nintendo is supposed to be showcasing a new console, Microsoft and Sony are just coasting on the PS360's last year - then the 2/10 makes sense.

GT has an interview with reggie? skewer him.

I like how they all tried their best not to crap all over it too much, especially sessler.
