I really want to see how hard they are trying to show what the Wii U can do. And new games are the key to this, at least I think like that.

Every E3. I wish that they announce a new Earthbound, since the Earthbound for N64 was cancelled I wish that, and this game been cancelled was the biggest deception of my gaming life.

So far we know that the new Zelda will be shown, even though the released date will be something in 2015 before holiday season, been too optimistic. Besides that I want to see the new Fatal Frame, Bayonneta 1, I still dont understand why they did not release this game on Wii U yet, Star Fox, even a HD remake of the Snes version would be okay, F-zero, And I really want to be surprised.

And please, do not focus on the QoL stuff.

Retro Studious should revive Raven Blade.
Back in the Game Cube era, I was very interested in this game, and unfortunately got canned.

Metroid will return believe..!

- Miyamoto talking about metroid and Wii U gameplay possibilities

-Reggie wearing goddamn metroid pin

-Zero suit samus somewhat redesign in smash 4

-Metroid fusion releases as gba VC game

Will never happen.

"I always like reading the posts about Raven Blade. There's this underground mystery about that game. When you start reading the blogs and newsgroups and what have you, there's always this post that says, 'Oh, they're going to work on Raven Blade' or 'I wonder if they're bringing Raven Blade back?' And at one point I went back and had them burn the last copy of Raven Blade -- and this was probably two or three years ago -- and I looked at it," says Michael Kelbaugh, president of Retro Studios. He's a straight shooter who possesses the managerial skills so lacking from Retro in previous years and he's also a collector of fine vodka. "I just couldn't believe that we even came close to making anything like that because it was absolutely horrible."

I'm in the camp that thinks there are so many games already hanging out there that expecting a ton announcements seems unwise, at least for the Wii U. Here's a list for people who aren't crazy.
NFC game (Confirmed by Iwata)
Smash Bros. Wii U and 3DS
Zelda Wii U (Confirmed by Aonuma)
Art Academy Wii U
Bayonetta 2
Fatal Frame
Hyrule Warriors
Pikachu detective game
SMT X Fire Emblem
X
Yarn Yoshi
Pokken
S.T.E.A.M. Strike Team Eliminating the Alien Menace

Nintendo has also dropped bizarre hints at the following:

Majora's Mask (Soundtrack was a Club Nintendo prize, mask in ALBW, Aonuma cryptically stating,"Tell them I laughed," when asked about a MM remake)

i think these are the things we could expect to see. the fils-a-mech video does talk about games not yet shown off so that would point to nfc game, fatal frame, zelda, steam, probably pokken, probably majora's mask, and the pikachu game. you could maybe throw in one other thing or two in there but nintendo's not a gigantic company so i also wouldn't expect to see a ton, but at least the exclusive content should be looking pretty good and fairly varied for what i assume is the rest of the wii u's output, or close to it.

localization announcements will probably be dqvii, hero bank, maybe youkai watch, puzzles and dragons, etc.

Though doubtful this will happen, I hope Capcom announces an awesome game coming to the Wii U.

As for what I expect to realistically happen, they'll have the Zelda reveal, more info on Bayonetta 2, SSB4, and X. They'll have 3DS games, with a surprise unveiling, and they will most likely have info on the QoL platform.

earthbound 64 transformed into mother 3 on the gba. we're not getting another one. the writer is in his 60s and done making games.

i'm curious about how they release info for the qol platform. i don't think it's anything that is going to be rad funtime like traditional video games, and they are trying to appeal to a market outside video games, so maybe they won't reveal it at e3. i imagine no matter how good or bad it is, and no matter whatever else they reveal, it will dominate the discussion afterwards when they are hyping the digital event to be more about rad funtime.

so maybe we'll see information about it this wednesday/thursday instead, and e3 will talk more about integration rather than details on the platform itself.

If Pokken actually exists and is announced (i know, not happening), i'd die on the spot.

There are great Zelda fan arts from a user, please take a look:

I would love to see that art style in Zelda U, it resembles Zelda perfectly! Oh... of course in 3D!

That's actually the art-style for Zelda U i have in mind, only with an older Link, but lighting and art is spot on.

They should use the Zelda Symphony- Gerudo Valley Orchestrated theme to reveal the game

This music is a well-oiled operative hype machine all by itself, especially with the build up a the beginning

They might as well just use Zelda U's main theme if they already have it. Alas, the music is one of the last development steps, iirc. So it might not have a main theme yet :(

If they have to go with old music, why not do something à la E3 symphony with images of Zelda U at the end. That would be awesome, come to think of it.

I wonder what Nintendo's NFC game is gonna be like. I can't imagine them showing up with some uninspired Skylanders/Disney infinity clone. I'm kind of hoping it's a crazy new IP in the vain of Pikmin or Wii sports. A clever little idea built around the strengths of the hardware.

They also confirmed as of e3 last year they were only working DK as a one project team. Wii U metroid is highly unlikely from them this year.

http://uk.ign.com/articles/2013/06/13/e3-2013-nintendo-retro-discuss-future-of-metroid

Even if they all worked on DK, which i believe is accurate, the art team must have been working on the next project for months if not a year+, so must have many technical teams, like level design, lighting and shading TD's etc.
Actually mostly directors and code devs are working on crunch time and DKCTF has been finished for months already, so the rest could easily have started with Metroid imo.
I just don't expect to show anything this E3, maybe just an announcement.

About the NFC game, I totally think it's an existing IP or a crossover. Maybe starting with Mario or Pokemon. Rumble U was actually succesful iirc, at least in Japan.

Pokemon, Smash Bros, and Mario Kart all make the most sense, but it doesn't seem like they are going that route with Smash or Kart. Animal Crossing is also an interesting candidate.

I keep my expectations low, Smash Bros. trailer and X release day is all I need to feel satisfied. Everything else is extra. Any new first party announcement would be bomba for me.

Hmmm, how could the NFC technology benefit animal crossing? Tbh my imagination is limited to figurines when it comes to NFC stuff. I can't see AC making use of action figures since you kind of control a semi-custom made character.

Are we ready for the Hype Train?

(I chose the Intercity 125 because while it has been around forever, and is not the most technologically advanced thing on the market, it is still loved by many, and the market would be a poorer place without it. Much like Nintendo.)

All of this = compensation for the fact that they don't actually have anything new of Metroid coming any time soon.. probably... maybe. :/

All I need is a cool new Smash trailer at the Digital Event to reveal Pac-Man and Palutena.

They can save the Phoenix Wright and Professor Layton reveals for the invitational. :3

In essence, NFC implementation is basically microtransactions in physical form. I haven't played Animal Crossing since the Gamecube so I don't know what they have changed since then, but there are probably a lot of ways that the game world could be modified by microtransactions via NFC that wouldn't hurt the experience for those who choose not to buy them, but improve it for those that do. Additional things to collect or ways to get them, adding non-essential but fun stuff to the town, etc.

Still, those other franchises are a lot easier to see potential for.

I'll be satisfied just getting more details, footage, and/or release dates on known titles like X, Bayo 2, Hyrule Warriors, Smash, Zelda U, and hopefully Fatal Frame. Any new titles will be icing on the cake for me.

One other thing I'd love to see, though probably unlikely, is an HD Remake/collection for any number of Gamecube/Wii titles. Actually an announcement of a new "series" of HD remakes/collections, similar to Wii's New Play Control series, would be amazing IMO. Shouldn't take many resources from new titles and would help bolster release schedule and Wii U's library. Even more unlikely would be Collectors Editions for each similar to WWHD.

Regarding 3DS I'm just interested in seeing what they have to show for it.

Smash Bros - New characters and Wii U story mode reveal
NFC Game
Hyrule Warriors
Monster Hunter 4 plus Wii U version
Yarn Yoshi
Advance Wars 3DS
Tales of 3DS
Bayonetta 2
X
third party stuff
indie stuff
Miyamoto game
Surprise Collab
Zelda U

Are we ever going to see FAST racing? Or did i miss that by not coming here the past couple of months?

Trapped in Valve Time, maybe?

I'd be surprised if they just drop the remaster thing after WW considering it was successful, and apparently relatively low-effort. Slipped my mind when I was writing my expectations, but this is something that could very well show up.

And I suspect 3DS will have a pretty decent showing, I can't name a single retail game Nintendo has announced going forward aside from Smash Bros, Kirby and Mario Golf were the last two they had announced right?

Edit: Duh, Tomodachi, but that will be out before E3 too leaving just Smash Bros, which is a summer release. Nothing for fall or the holidays.

At this point yeah.

I'm really wondering what they've got in store next. Here's hoping we'll get Metroid.

I'll predict we'll see something Wario-themed at E3. It's been a while, whether you're talking about Ware or Land. Wario Land 5 wouldn't surprise me.

He's the one character without a 3DS presence yet. ...Well, besides Metroid and F-Zero, but come on.

No steam train, instead we got a soulless standard train. :( Eitherway, pls count me in!

Keep Calm and Expect the Unexpected

this always been the norm for E3 when it came to Nintendo and my expectations. i never got a prediction right, they always pulled some tricks, either good or bad. You'll be surprised in a good or bad way, that's for sure

hyped? Not yet, my mind is still filled with Mario Kart 8 awesomeness, my hype for that game has reached critial level, but I will get hyped yessir, and hop aboard the hype train with my favourite six pack of Earl Grey, lemon biscuits and some scantily clad cheap hookers

here's my ticket, don't leave me out!
