Welcome to GAF!

What I want:

New 3D Mario or 3D DK (At least a glimpse, but I don´t think we will see this at E3)
Zelda U trailer
3D Metroid trailer
X Developer Direct
Bayo 2 Demo for everyone
Hyrule Warriors Demo for everyone
New IP from Nintendo (MP FPS or TPS very simple, think CSGO in execution)
Some strategy game using the gamepad a lot

Welcome to Gaf where E3 is most definitely the most wonderful time of the year

I really hope Yoshi's Yarn isn't dead. It could be a nice adventure to relax with amidst the chaos of Smash, (hopefully) X, and Bayonetta 2.

I agree that I don't like Iwata doing the directs. At the very least I'd prefer he just speak Japanese and have an English voice over on top like Sakurai did for the Smash direct.

Anyways, going off the Int Sys talk the last few pages I think the time is right for a new game by them.

Paper Mario U?
Fire Emblem U?
Fire Emblem Awakening 2 3DS?
Advance Wars 3DS?

Imagine SMTxFE utilized NFC? That could be pretty neat.
since DLC is becoming a standard in the industry I wouldn't mind if all DLC for characters was done through NFC figurines or trading cards having figurines of all the legendary FE characters would be more than awesome

Welcome. Please leave your sanity with the doorman and enjoy the ride.

Someone should be working on a hype ship for us to sail the seven seas with. MCN was working on the trains but I don't know anymore.

I just had a thought. Based on last years's NOA twitter pick of Iwata and dozens of NOA employees on forums and imageboards reading up on what people thought of the event last year, you don't suppose that some of them go to GAF? I mean, isn't it possible? The fact that someone on here might know all the answers and is just watching the hypetrain go is kinda remarkable in a way.

GAF is probably one of the first places they'd go.

Miiwata, Miiyamoto, Reggie F. AiMii & Miibata for EU will (re)present.

Wreck It Ralph.

Someone post that Retro pic.

Nintendo ninjas are everywhere so yeahh they must have people here

For Nintendo, I'd actually expect their focus to be Facebook, Twitter, reddit, /v/ and ign/gamespot before GAF due to sheer numbers and demographics alone. GAF is awesome and active, but isn't it a bit of a minority at times when it comes to the type of audience that Nintendo wants, which is core plus everyone else?

Anyone have that pic from last year? What sites were they on anyways?

I would not be surprised if there's some NOA employees who read GAF. They do work in the gaming industry and do care about games. They're probably here the same reasons we are, not to gather info for marketing purposes.

I do hope that Reggie is the front man of the Digital Event, yeah. There's a reason why he used to handle the stage conferences, with Iwata and Miyamoto only making brief appearances- he's a charismatic speaker, whereas Iwata, charming though he is, is very stilted in English.

Having the E3 Direct hosted in this stilted manner from the blandest boardroom that Nintendo had available was what helped sink the whole thing last year, and that needs to be avoided.

I've been trying to think up some realistic ideas as to what Nintendo might show during their Digital Event. I guess you would call these my predictions. Also, it's fair to mention that my criteria for realistic is anything above 5% probability.

Nintendo 3DS Advance
The wildest of my predictions, of course, but the company always has a new re-design in the works. It won't be for the Wii U this year, as stores already have trouble with their current stock. It's not the cards for our home-console-that-could. However, the 3DS is about due for another upgrade. Who's to say that this upgrade won't' be a substantial one? Not in terms of horsepower, but it's features. Maybe it'll act like a Wii U Gamepad which will give Nintendo the opportunity to release a gamepad-less SKU that, seemingly, everyone wants.

Wii U Firmware Update
Nintendo have an opportunity to pull a Sony and pander to their fans. They undoubtedly know of the most requested features for the Wii U. While some are impossible, others are very much in the realm of possibilities. eShop linked to an account? The ability to lend out digital games to our friends? Achievements? A UI that doesn't rely on the Gamepad? Who knows?!

Pokemon
Pokemon brings in the money like no other. The trouble with the Wii U isn't the software, but actually getting them off the shelves; Giving people a reason to buy one. There's really only one franchise that will send people in to a frenzy. Pokemon. It just makes sense.

The Mother Collection
The time feels right.

Nintendo DS HD Remakes
With the Wii U gearing up for Nintendo DS support on its Virtual Console platform, what better time than to release some classic DS games revamped for the big screen. My money goes in to the Professor Layton pile.

That's it for now.

Nintendo is watching us. That is known.

That was a legendary thread xD

Creep-GAF at its best xD

Edit:

Here it is

Hoo boy, these are your realistic expectations? You better get ready for some disappointment. :P

Hah! I meant to add that realistic for me is anything above a 5% probability. In actuality, I expect Nintendo to spend an obscene amount of time on Mario Kart and Smash Bros. I'm also fully aware that Mario Kart will already be out by that time.

Bill Trennon lurks here if he doesn't have an account. I was working at Comicon last year and happened to bump into him. He asked who if was here but I just got through the screening process at that time and told him I was an unimportant nobody so he wouldn't recognize me.

Any kind of return to the Mother series would be huge for long time Nintendo fans. But I feel that kind of prediction is among the least likely even after the Wii U virtual console release.

Brings tears to my eyes every time :')
Retro is a cool company for going along with our obsessiveness.

Ninjas man. And now they have a robot roaming around too.

We have a speculation thread for pretty much every single Nintendo speculation. Zelda, Advance, Pokken, this one, 3DS... we have been seperated.

Presentation: more Mega64 and less Nintendo Direct

First Party: I'd like to see what Retro is doing and what Miyamoto is doing.

Third Party: I'd like to see something.

Overall: I want to see something I've never seen or thought of. (no pressure)

I actually don't think they'll talk about Kart that much, unless they have DLC plans. Nintendo's actually been pretty good about not talking about games that have just released in their directs.

Smash will probably have a decent chunk of the time, but I think that they covered so much of the essential stuff with the Smash Direct that they may not go overboard.

You want to see Retro's project they've been working on for 6 months? That won't be pretty...

What's the stoy behind this? I either missed it or it was before my time.

It was pre-E3 last year. People wanted to know what the Retro game is, therefore (?) Gaf went into creepmode. Part of that was the discovery that Retro has surveillance cameras with livestream. And Retro noticed that we are watching.
