Nintendo E3 2015 Event Schedule

It's not. They wouldn't. Only people who know the contents are those who work in Nintendo's PR and are dealing with the tweets etc., and the people in Treehouse, E3 staff and generally people who work in Nintendo.

Nintendo wouldn't really risk leaks. They may have shown some content off ahead of time, as per Starfox last year, but the whole Direct? No.

"they showed us a slightly edited version of the Nintendo Digital Event" is pretty clear

At least Zelda will come out within 2 years most likely. I'm honestly not convinced that will be the case for Shenmue or FFVII remake. And when it was announced, it was on track for this year. And Nintendo had a lot of fantastic announcements beyond just Zelda last year
SMT x FE then. It was announced in 2013.
The point is people do it. Nintendo did it with Twilight Princess in 2001 and Kirby: Return to Dreamland in 2003.
Shenmue 3 was just announcing the Kickstarter and FF7 Remake was a teaser. The stars were 2016 games except Horizon which might be 2017.

Zelda will release at least 2.5 years from its reveal.

Not sure what I'm expecting from Nintendo this time around. Feels like most of the stuff I've been expecting is right around the corner and they've been firing on all cylinders, so I'm skeptic about them having big projects under wraps what with the huge amount of games we already know they're working on. Still, they decided to show the Smash stuff on a separate direct, and that maybe means they're making place for some heavy hitters... plus I'd say with the Mother localization announcement they've shown themselves to be capable of surprises this year. Again, no idea what to expect. I don't think I'll be disappointed, just that the Direct discussion this year will be a ton of "yep, I've seen this before, still looks awesome" rather than reactions to new stuff.

So normally when there is loads of hype we are disappointed, this year Sony stole all the hype which means we are all gonna be pleasantly surprised.

Gotta hand it to Sony, they managed to completely cover up their lack of interesting releases in the short-term by presenting 3 titles that granted them massive goodwill from fans despite being years away from release.

Nintendo will be a 'disappointment' because they will only show/talk about games that will be released in the next year or so.

Pretty much. Just say "Metroid is coming! ..go to kickstarter.". And people would lose their shit and say Nintendo won E3.

People act as if Sony has no great titles coming besides the far off future ones.

it was the best possible conference Sony could have had considering their current situation. gotta hand it to them, I went from being disinterested in the PS4 to being hyped to get one in 2016. that is exactly what they were going for, I'm sure.

I'm keeping my expectations very low,".

That said, there are a couple of things brewing that got me wondering about the megatons.

1)Retro studios: the King Midas's of gaming. Every single game so far I have loved and enjoyed. If they show up to the DE, Day one automatically (base expectation: DKCR3 over: Metroid Prime 4)

2)Something about the NWC ending in that SMW end credit has me wondering about comments Miyamoto has made in the past regarding wanting to revisit SMW. (Base: Super Mario Maker is gonna be really really good. over: a new Super Mario World eshop game with 16:9, 4 player coop, online and integration with SMM.

4)Star Fox Episodic? Though Episodic games may have been covered in a stigma, Telltale games has done some good with it so far. Would be interesting to see if Nintendo takes this rumored approach.

3) Hyrule Warriors for 3DS means there will be a segment on Zelda in the DE. Sure they said no Zelda U at E3, but I'm hoping that means no playable Zelda. (Base: no Zelda, here's HW Over: clips of progress being made or fuck it, Twilight Princess HD).

4) Super Mario 30th Anniversary. Nintendo did more than just pump out NSMBW on the 25th anniversary. We got the package with Super Mario All Stars. Hoping for something more than just Super Mario Maker. (Base: just super Mario maker + Amiibo. over: GC VC a thing, first game is Super Mario Sunshine.)

I mean Sony was good, but The Last Guardian looked rough as fuck and Shenmue was a kickstarter.

Nintendo can still have a good showing. I've got a bottle of rum handy anyway so either way, it's on like Diddy Kong.

The problem for me is that City Folk was trash, and we could have the same type of situation here.
If they think they can get off with a port of 3ds with little additions for the wii u version, im done with animal crossing.

We didn't know that City Folk "was trash" when it debuted at E3, though. We just knew that it was another Animal Crossing game.

To be fair, though, they're probably gonna try something new.

What I really want:

- Monster Hunter 4 Wii U.
- Star fox Wii U (Please be good).
- Metroid Wii U.
- A third party exclusive game, maybe a collaboration with Platinum.
- New IP or something new plus a good remaster.

Xenoblade X release date.

The fanboy in me wishes that Ryu and Roy and Earthbound were all released today after the Nintendo Direct. That would be a good "win," but really, it doesn't matter.

SMT x FE then. It was announced in 2013.
The point is people do it. Nintendo did it with Twilight Princess in 2001 and Kirby: Return to Dreamland in 2003.

SMT X FE was announced way to early, just like FFVII:R was (Shenmue might take even longer being a kickstarter, but given the nature of it's release I can't call it to early an announcement)

Kind of funny, of all the years we've been saying "Mother 3 please" this feels like e year or actually has a chance to happen.

Mother 1 being released on Sunday instead of today as basically the only announcement of the day was kind of strange. And with Lucas in Smash, Mother 3 interest to the general public is at a high.

Guys

I drank the magners and Westons in the post I made before and then went to the tesco (down the road) and bought two more. Drank them

I'm drunk now. I need megatons. And Pizza.

Good prep work, nicely done. You know Westons comes in 3L boxes right? I'd have saved myself a trip and loaded up on those.

Nintendo overcrowded the Wii U with 2d platformers, Nintendo sent DKC:TF to February to die. Nintendo didn't give a shit to promote it too much. Nintendo actively sabotaged its game by using Cranky Kong at a game show unfitted for 2d platformers two months before release. Trolling also the Metroid fans. It got no so great reviews because of the fact that it was perceived as being just another DK. Retro actively sabotaged the game when they didn't put a damn thing on the gamepad.

Again, i love it, but the game failed. Failed to reach the sales deserved for the best 2d platformer, failed to sparkle any kind of hype. That's how the best franchises die and I don't want that. Let it rest a bit.
It was an awful way to treat Retro Studios, a legendary series like DKC and lacked respect for the sales the first game achieved. DKCR was a runaway success beyond expectations, and while Wii wasn't exactly in desperate need of big sellers by that point it still did its part. Yet the sequel came out and Nintendo glossed over it.

While I can appreciate I got to play another excellent DKC game, it just wasn't needed at that moment in time. Nothing about that release made any sense. With Mario games so abundant in the first year or two it would have made so much more sense to out Retro on Metroid then and TF now to space out the platformers and add variety to the catalogue.

I still think Metroid could have been the game to really showcase what the Gamepad could do and thus should have been released at launch or soon after. I'll still take it now though.

the yearly contest between games reporters to be as haughty and down-putting about Nintendo as possible has a hard time facing me

Here are my E3 Predictions for Nintendo: We open with Reggie in a poorly lit room, fidgeting on a rusty folding chair. He slowly stands up, sobbing that Nintendo has nothing left to reveal this year. After a few minutes, a camera man yells "Cut to the Amiibo Reel!" off-screen.

We then see Satoru Iwata, slouched on a mountain of Amiibo in his office, laughing about how excited everyone will be for the new Amiibo. Animal Crossing Amiibo are Stuckey's Exclusives to promote travelling. Only 30 30th Anniversary Mario Amiibos are made. Ryu Amiibos must be won in an underground fighting ring. Fans do not question this logic. Oh! And all 800 Pokemon Amiibo are revealed. Gathering all of them in one place summons Shenron, the Eternal Dragon. After granting his summoner's wish, he redistributes the Amiibo worldwide, proving to be a more effective distribution process.

After that, it cuts back to Reggie, still starved for ideas. After about 5 minutes, the same camera man yells back onto the set... "INDIE SIZZLE REEL."

Well I'm not super hyped, I'm just really excited to see the presentation. Even with things we already know, the localised Xeno X footage and Miyamoto Starfox. Even if there aren't big (Metroid) bombs, they'll make sure to make it an amusing show so that's what I'm excited for.

It's seems the hype for Nintendo gone down. :(
We're expecting AC and Star Fox which I'm excited for but I hope Retro wows us - it better not be another DKC.

Just trying to not have any expectations. Not even keeping them low but just not having any. There is no way to know what Nintendo might show other then what was already announced. Then they showed some content already with the latest micro nintendo direct which throws another wrench into the mix. The question is just how much do they invest into the games to give experiences (not look but an similar experience) that might be on par with somethings offered on other platforms. That's what I want. What Nintendo normally offers and has offered but something that will make me happy to keep playing just their system and not spend extra money on another platform. Only they can offer it because there are no third party games coming. Splatoon was a start in that it gives me a similar (clearly not the same but close enough for me) multiplayer shooter experience like other games. I want that to continue.

What I saw yesterday from Sony and Microsoft has pushed me closer then ever to picking up one of the other systems to fill that experience void. That is if my PC won't be a good alternative.

Some people in here are weird. Why would you want NX or mobile stuff at this E3? Systems don't get full blowouts until months before they launch. Since NX won't come out this fall, what could they possibly tell you about it that you would care about now and or remember for more than a few weeks? What could they tell you about it now that would help their current products sell? As for mobile games, E3 is typically an event for traditional game and time to hype that stuff up. I can assure you GAF as a whole would turn into a ball of rage if Nintendo dedicated any significant portion for their event to mobile games.

No they definitely do. That new Horizon game looks AMAZING. But that's not what got people excited about Sony. It was three games, long from release, going by hype alone.

Looking forward to be slightly disappointed* with Retro working with Metroid again instead of a new reboot or new IP.

:|

*Slightly because new Metroid isn't a bad thing

Yall need to stop putting so much stock in "winning E3" and just enjoy the show for what it is. They would have to repeat E3 08 for me to upset. I'm expecting some great footage of games that I can have my hands on within a year, a few suprises and tons of preview time during the Treehouse bits.

90 minutes GAF.

There is no time for disappointments. We're still getting a couple of surprises. It's E3 time, the hype is still here for me! :D
