Nintendo E3 plans detailed

Aren't you embarrassed to defend Nintendo no matter how mediocre they are? Nintendo are basically by themselves for the most part (Although if the 3DS devs move over that will help) and with their limited resources they will need to rehash games. Expect to see a bunch of remakes on Switch as they work on the big games.

Indies won't really do squat for the system and it would require some of the big guys to move over to really give it some momentum. That is, unless they can hit that casual zone again which they do seem to be leaning towards. But really, who wants that?

Man you really sound butthurt, did Nintendo murder your dog? Tough shit though, Nintendo will be around forever.

I want to believe but I will always have the feeling that one of their big titles will be delayed.

None of the last three FE games got delayed if that makes you feel better. (3DS tho)
Actually, IS seems to be pretty good with their overall management.

Atlus? I'm not expecting SMT V until after 2019, during the Switch presentation, they even said they just started development

I have a funny old feeling that they'll only reveal Virtual Console stuff when it's on the eve of being ready for roll-out, so I don't necessarily expect it at E3.

That is, unless they can hit that casual zone again which they do seem to be leaning towards. But really, who wants that?
You certainly don't because it seems you don't like them to make money when you don't own shares of them. Maybe have a little bit more faith in them next time, then you won't have to get salty.
Also if you really want to have serious discussions your avatar sure as hell doesn't help. Comes across as a desperate troll attempt, nothing else.

Yep, FE Switch should have no problems making 2018. They've had 3 years since Fates to work on it and IntSys seem to be great at meeting deadlines. FE has been on a steady 2-3 year cycle since its inception.

Miyamoto has also stated that Nintendo's developers have begun using Unreal Engine 4, and Fire Emblem would be a great potential candidate for that.

Always the usual suspects shitting up every Nintendo thread with blatant trolling and throwing shit off the rails. Makes every Nintendo related thread on GAF hard to read.

I just want some third party game that will sell like hotcakes.

Like Dark Souls trilogy or something like that.

Shit boy that's Monster Hunter.

Edit: I don't really get why some of you want ports of games from last gen or a couple years back when we could have new games be released side by side with the other console version. I rather have that type of third party support.

(This wasn't addressed to me) I don't think they are, no. I also think this From Software Metroid game people wanted won't happen either.

I agree I don't see Retro doing Metroid. I don't really care for From Software to touch Metroid. They can start with porting Dark Souls games I guess since many people want those.

I just don't think Nintendo sees Metroid as being a huge franchise, so even if it is shown that doesn't necessarily mean they are acting like it's one of the big guns.

However I do feel like this E3 might be when everyone will see the benefits of the combined output, but I'm not counting on that. I've been disappointed by high E3 expectations in the past.

Yeah I believe there is some truth to that UK studio/Climax Studios rumor, while it may very well not be Climax themselves. So I expect some smaller scale Metroid title from an outside developer, no idea if it'll be 2D or 3D but the rumor seems to be that it began life as a 3DS title, so I'm not expecting too much.

I was originally on the Fromsoft Metroid train but the more I thought about it I realized the only thing that From could bring to a Metroid game is the excellent interconnecting 3D Metroidvania style map we saw in Dark Souls 1. I don't know if they could do good Metroid combat mechanics or good traversal mechanics.

I think we definitely see a 2D/2.5D Metroid. We probably won't see a 3D Metroid, yet, but it's probably in development and not ready to show. I don't see Nintendo revealing two Metroid games in one E3. They'd have to pick one or the other if there are two Metroid games being worked on.

Dark Souls Trilogy, FFXIII Trilogy, Kingdom Hearts Collection.

Those would be great. Big, beefy games.

I think the biggest problem for most people is they want big single player experiences on the Switch. I can kind of understand there aren't too many of those. We had Zelda. Then we're going to have Super Mario Odyssey and Xenoblade Chronicles 2. I'm pretty sure Fire Emblem Warriors will be one too. Also, Mario + Rabbids will be one from the sounds of it. I wouldn't be surprised if this is a sleeper hit. The only reason it has negative attention is because of the Rabbids.

Skyrim is a much older games, but it's a big single player game too in case you haven't played it. I think if Nintendo announces a Pokemon Stars and a Pikmin 4 for this year that's another two big single player experience for the Switch.

I really want to see third party devs kick it into gear, but I don't expect to see it come to fruition until next year. If Switch continues to do great then E3 2018 you'll see a lot more third party games. Since Square is on board I really want them to bring these KH HD collections over. Nintendo fans will LOVE those including myself.

I hope that E3 2018 you mention happens. I don't think we should expect much a third-party presence at this E3 apart from what we already know (FIFA, Skyrim, Sonic), what has been rumored (BG&E2 maybe?), and any deals Nintendo specifically negotiated/contracted (like Platinum). I agree that Switch being a solid success for a year with strong third-party sales could mean that E3 2018 is when you see third-party software planning really take Switch seriously. It'll likely depend on upcoming games' performance: Skyrim and FIFA will probably be used as measuring sticks by many, but Bomberman's early success is hopefully turning a few heads.

Believing intensifies.

I don't even need the whole trilogy. I just want the 1st game on a current gen console.

Too early to see Travis Touchdown? Probably. But I'm still hype.
It'll be Lily Bergamo.

Nintendo should really pack it up, guys. Having Zelda, Mario Kart, Arms, Splatoon, Super Mario, and Xenoblade during its first year on market is embarrassing to defend.

Just Dragon Quest XI and Shin Megami Tensei being unveiled and being decent enough would give the Switch a fantastic prospect in my book

And we actually know these two are coming :D

It seems reasonable to believe that Thimbleweed park will be announced for Switch during E3. Now that I am done with Zelda I want to play this game so bad but I'm gonna hold out until it comes out on Switch. Such is the power of this wonderful little hybrid.

I just want a couple (good) Platinum exclusives and thats all. So far the Switch lineup feels less impressive to me than the Wii U announcements and thats weird :/
It really depends. The Wii U had some stuff like ZombiU, Lego, and Tekken, but the biggest first party game announced for post launch was Pikmin 3, which got delayed. The Switch was announced with a stronger first party lineup, a stronger indie presence, and third party titles with more potential/appeal.

Dry your fanboy eyes.

Are we not getting a funny video before E3?
Maybe. They said more information is coming:

Further details about Nintendo’s activities at E3, including information about the tournaments, will be shared closer to the event. For more information about Nintendo’s activities and announcements at E3 2017, visit http://e3.nintendo.com.

You guys saying FromSoft is developing a Metroid game are absolutely insane lol. The most we will get from them is a Dark Souls Trilogy remaster and perhaps a port of their new game.

Maybe From Software could join with Activision again to bring Lost Kingdoms back? The series has been dead long, but never say never. I wonder who even own the right t that franchise.

Aren't you embarrassed to visit every positive-sounding Switch thread and spread your negative views on things? What's your personal gain? To make the world a better place?

Nah screw the Dark Souls trilogy. From needs to put Armored Core on the system, and we'll probably see the game revealed this e3.

So Odyssey is basically finished, Xenoblade is Monolith, Pokemon is TPC... what is the BOTW team making next? Another giant Zelda game or something smaller?

Well, we don't know, obviously. But a safe bet is that some are working on the DLC, some have moved to help with other projects, and some are part of a skeleton team prototyping the next Zelda game.

Besides completely new games, I really hope they try to bring more of their older games to the system, especially Wii U ports. A lot of people skipped out on the Wii U, and it would be a shame if they aren't available on Switch.

Why not both?

Yeah that fine.....just give me Armored Core first or at least announced that first.

I'm not to partial on the DS trilogy rumor though as I believe LDK stated that they only had one source said that, and if I'm correct a majority of her claims that only had one source turned out to be wrong.

I'm so excited for Retros game more than anything else. 3D Mario is my favorite series, but because Retros game is so unknown and with their high quality pedigree I'm so excited to see their game more than anything else.

I don't even care what they work on for the most part. If they do a DKCR3 just go all out and make it 3D. Bring the Kremlins back in. If they don't do that do something so out of left field that no one would've guessed like a Mother 4 or a big WRPG. I don't want Metroid from them (which is weird to say). I would love to see how good they could be at making RPGs.

-Mario Odyssey
-Online app
-Western third party support: Activision support(Overwatch, Diablo & Hearthstone), Ubisoft support(Mario RPG, BG&E2), EA(fifa, whatever) 2k(GTA, believe!)
-Indies
-More Wii U collection
-Xenoblade 2
-Metroid please!

I'm not sure why but I'm getting a strong sense of their project being a Kid Icarus Uprising sequel. Even just the first one being updated for Switch would be great though. :)

I like Retro and Kid Icarus but I'm not sure if I would want that. Part of Uprising's charm to me is how Japanese it is (from its aesthetics to its gameplay). I think Retro's better off working on more western oriented franchises like Donkey Kong, Metroid, and maybe Startropics (lol)?

My dream team for an KIU sequel would be PlatinumGames led by Sakurai.

I really do hope if they talk about Skyrim for any extended length of time:

1) It looks capable
2) It's coming out soon
3) Bethesda seem committed to continued support

There was a rumor a while back that Retro was making an open world Kid Icarus. I'm still thinking they should be making a western FPS. Hopefully get an idea at E3.

I would be utterly disappointed if they were making a western FPS. There are more than enough out there. I want Retro to do what Retro does best, and that's amazing, intricate level design.

Geist 2.

Geist was such a good concept at first but the developers just weren't seemingly able to find anything interesting to do with it after the mid-game. The end was just boring. I've always thought Retro or EPD could do a fantastic job with those game mechanics throughout the whole game.

Except none of them are on (or slated for release on) the Switch as of yet. Nintendo needs to prove there can be an audience for a FPS if they want those games and the rest of the audience that comes with them.

Yeah, I agree. Uprising was awesome because it was a loving homage to the oldschool arcade style of Japanese design. Felt like it easily would have been the kind of game Sega or Treasure would have made in the 90s. Platinum would be a great choice, since Sakurai seems to be done with the whole ad hoc game development approach, and they bring that exact philosophy to their games.

I'd honestly just settle for an HD port of it too.

A Kid Icarus sequel should definitely be handled by a Japanese team, preferably with Sakurai in the lead. I can't see happening any other way, if it does at all.

Legit having Nintendo's action man and Platinum making a game together can be something godly.

Lord oh my.

For Retro, if they are not making a DK game I could only see them tackle a franchise that has appeal in west. Besides Startropics, Metroid and DK whats another IP that Nintendo has that caters heavily to western audience?
