Nintendo is left out of the "Arms Race". What companies/studios should Nintendo acquire? (My answer might surprise you!)

none.

the problem with Nintendo is not really games, it's their infrastructure, they need a company that can overhaul their online network and services. They need a company that can make their own "Nintendo OS"

now if we are talking games...Nintendo...needs someone to handle their.......LEGACY.

They need:
a studio just for porting GBA games
a studio that can remaster Gamecube games
a company to cloud stream N64 games.

Hell, they literally had to make a separate company, The Pokémon Company, just so GameFreaks and themselves could focus on games.

Sega has legacy IPs and a fair amount of PC decelopment experience. They might be the right ones to help them overhaul their services and create a PC client. *shrug*

Too bad MS already bought them, as next Wednesday's announcement will prove.

I don't think the #1 issue with Nintendo is their online functionality. I think the main problem they have is their turn-around time on their best games is typically 5-7 years, and they only have maybe 2-3 teams that qualify as the core of what most people desire from Nintendo - The main Mario Group (formerly Tokyo EAD). The Zelda Team, and Retro. Because their third party support is inevitably limited by the technological constraints of their hardware, they need to compensate with more frequent games internally. Then, you have the issue of the main "core" of Nintendo vision needing to translate their talent, vision, and culture to subordinates. Miyamoto will likely retire soon. Then what? Will it be Arms and Splatoon with a Zelda game every 6-9 years? Will they continue to turn out bizarre experimental toys that pretty much waste everyone's time and suck up resources that could be used toward hardware innovation/research or maybe a new fucking 3D Mario?

Then you have the issue of lazy ports/casual contempt for their fans, milking their legacy in all the wrong ways with trash-ass ports and multiple re-releases, all the while suing people who try to preserve their legacy better then they can.

Nintendo releasing PC games? That'd be the day.

Imo nintendo needs a dedicated DK studio that makes 3D DK games and another studio that makes Donkey Kong Country games(Retro studios is too gifted to rot away as a DK country factory, let them keep trying to make new IPs), GF needs a brother studio that makes classical pokemon games(2D or 2D inspired delivering the systems shakeup and content the core fans desire).

Imo these pokemon games should use old pokemon in new regions so the team doesn't have to reinvent too much of the wheel. GF can continue to innovate with Pokemon Legends open world 3D look while the brother studio can make old school pokemon with evolved systems and content.

Thanks for………posting…….this CLICKBAIT THREAD.

Hopefully Nintendo executives are reading this, they sure could use the guidance from internet experts such as yourself

Why would they need to do that? Need, in order to achieve what.. Exactly?

Certainly not in order to sell an insane amount of consoles and games, that's for sure. Or to be very profitable.
