-Premium price, mid specs, massive hype.

-Old hardware, new paint—still sells out.

-Fans say "It just works," even when it doesn't.

-Accessories cost extra—and feel essential.

-Updates what it wants, when it wants—take it or leave it.

-You're not buying a console, you're buying a lifestyle.

-If it's not made by Nintendo, it's probably not allowed.

I somewhat agree with your premise. I would say, actually…

Nintendo WANTS TO be the Apple of gaming.

I would also think that Nintendo CEO keeps a picture of Tim Cook next to his bed and a Steve :Jobs biography on his nightstand.

Nintendo used to try to emulate Disney in many ways in the late 1990's/early 2000's. Right before the Wii though, Nintendo had become enamored with Steve Jobs and Apple. So much so, that they hired a design firm to make the Wii look like an Apple product and remind people of the iPod.

They have continued on the Apple train since. Remember, Miyamoto was a "guest" at an Apple event to introduce Mario Run. Where else has Nintendo ever been a guest to introduce one of their games.

I despise apple with a passion and don't care one lick about Nintendo but I disagree. Games are subjective entertainment. Let people enjoy what they enjoy. Apple has been more cancerous to the consumer electronics industry as a whole in the last decade more than Nintendo has ever been in their entire 100+ years existence.

And Nintendo are absolutely no where near as money grubbing as Apple are.

Except for the part where Apple's products aren't kind of cheap and flimsy and Nintendo's are.

Not everything has to be the "someone else" of "something."

When the gameplay's golden, people want in, no matter the packaging. Call it nostalgia, call it loyalty, either way, it moves units like magic

Mario didn't need 4K to become timeless.

its worse, apple at least tries to push the envelope, Nintendo usually put out MVP ( Minimum Viable Product ) as much as they can.

No, how dare You.

Nintendo is the Nintendo in its own.

We are not the {filthy companies name here}, Nintendo long has gained its own place.

Dont compare them.

Never understood this. Both flagships are similar in price.

This is kangaroo dollars, but I can't imagine it's much different elsewhere.

As for specs. iOS and Android aren't comparable as one is built with the phone in mind, the other isn't.
The latter needs more hardware to operate the same. And that's not a bad thing, it's just a thing that happens when you have an OS that's trying to work on thousands of different phones.

With most games going the Unreal Engine 5 route you really think you will be able to play the latest and greatest without severe cutbacks (if you are lucky enough to have it available)?

You'll be able to play the latest and greatest from Nintendo at least, which you can't (legally) say about any other platform, cutbacks or otherwise.

Personally I don't think their first party stuff is worth owning a separate console for, but I seem to be in the minority, if Switch sales are any indicator.
