I felt very bad with the other choice as many others did.

If you think totalitarianism is better, then I've lost all respect for you.
I am the type that I 100% don't care how others vote as I can totally respect their decisions and will never get upset at how they vote, its their right

I would be perfectly fine with immediate family members voting differently than I do because politics is something that wont divide me from others

So if how I voted makes you lose respect for me all I can say is

I Dont Morgan Freeman GIF

Actually, you could be forgiven for voting for Trump because he tricked you.

Refusing to budge at this point that it's in front of your face that he's fighting rule of law to push fascism is indefensible.

I think the more angry people get, the more he will double down. The guy will never take the L on anything ever in his life. I don't think he's an evil man, but I think he's one of the world's biggest egomaniacs. And just admitting something this administration did is wrong, is such a bruise to the ego, it's just not going to happen.

It's either deny deny deny or if you can't deny anymore, blame someone else. Love it or hate it, that's what we are getting until 2028.
It's what his mentor Roy Cohn taught him. "Admit nothing, deny everything". https://www.rollingstone.com/tv-mov...ice-trailer-donald-trump-roy-cohn-1235098600/

I guess any thread in any forum here is open for political discussions now huh
A week or so of people popping off will certainly make it easier to sort out any deranged individuals who have a melty whenever you don't support their specific sets of ideologies.

I mean I'm from the other side of the world, upside down even, but voting for someone who at every turn wants to upend convention and trust in your institutions seems like you are voting to not be asked to vote again? I mean thats the end game, one way or another they want to fix it so there is no representative vote. Meh its all bizarre to me, over here everyone is required to vote. You guys seem more interested in stopping people from voting. Or failing that game the system to make one persons vote less important than another.

I have no idea when it comes to Australian issues and refrain from telling that country how they should live.

Unless you understand the deep intricacies of the US, you should refrain from the same.

Countries have been talking with Trump for a while now. Canada and UK for example had been trying to work with Trump to get tariffs dropped, but still got tariffed.
And what exactly do you think Vietnam could make a deal on? It's not like the Vietnamese people have a bunch of money to buy American goods to balance out that trade deficit Trump hates.
If he drops the tariffs it's because they are unpopular and/or crashing the economy, regardless of what he might say.
The deal is pretty easy, pay the mob boss (literally and directly) and he lifts the tariffs. People thinking he's defending their best interests is exactly why they are called "marks".

The US proposed the following to Canada: let's both drop all tariffs from all sides and let our nations trade freely with each other. May the best price and the best product win.

Canada doesn't want to do that because it wants to have tariffs on the US. It just doesn't want the US tariffing it. Most countries (especially European ones) are the same.

Trump was inevitable. If you're an American he is improving your life. The March jobs report crushed expectation, more companies are making big investments into the US, illegals are being deported… love him or hate him, he's a good president for an average US citizen that's largely been left behind.

"Art of deal" lmfao, Vietnam actual tariffs were not even that high (don't come to me with BS trump figures). Would be even funnier if Ninty still charged 700 bux for Sw2.

Well normally I would lol, but your boss just hit us with totally unwarranted tariffs in spite of our free trade deal. So yeah we get to comment.

I bet if Australia proposed an agreement to simultaneously drop ALL tariffs from both sides with the US, the US would gladly agree with it. Would you?

As far as I understand it they want you guys to end the beef ban. The President directly stated that. I don't see the confusion.

The end goal is not to just bring back manufacturing jobs, it's also to get countries to drop whatever trade barriers/tariffs they have implemented against American goods/services.

When countries around the world implement tariffs everything is fine, but when the US does it it's the end of the world? It's ridiculous.
The US is an exporter of services. Goods for the most part are produced elsewhere in better quality, cheaper or both. There is a big debate in Europe right now that if the orange retard doesn't pull back this stunt, it would trigger a tax on US services where the trade balance massively favors the US companies. We're talking your Apples, Googles, Microsofts, etc.

So whatever pain this will cause, in the short term is only impacting the US consumer. Once the pain is felt in non-US companies, the actual reciprocal tariffs will come especially from major blocks in Europe and Asia to penalize the US companies, which will lead to additional pain and job losses. Nevermind the higher cost of the switch 2 if people around will simply not have a job anymore to afford a loaf of bread. Oh and thank Elon for taking away the safety net of the support programs for poor people too. R.I.P. US.

What tariff is there when person A in Europe orders product B from the US?

I'll wait...
