Who wants that? That's not Metroid. I've seen this brought up before and I hope it doesn't happen.

Isnt Metroid already kinda an open world exploration game lol

Human Head's most famous game is a Sci-fi FPS about a bounty hunter and they were working on a Nintendo game. It was cancelled as far as we know though.

The game Human Head was working on was Batman Arkham Origins and it came out on WiiU

But yea I would love for them to do the next Metroid game using some upgraded assets from Prey 2

I'm kind of interested in trying Skyrim (I never could get into Elder Scrolls but I'm willing to give it another try) but if I play that and Zelda at the same time or even consecutively I'm concerned I won't have a life.

I remember people were talking about him like he was the next Miyamoto. He had something to do with Ocarina of Time right? And a bunch of other stuff.

He got quickly promoted to the producer role after SMG and is now the general manager of EDP Tokyo. I hope he will be able to direct games again someday, though sadly unlikely.

Literally everyone said this about Prime before they got to play it.

I still feel that way to an extent about Prime, though lol. It's not the Metroid I want, at least. I don't dislike Prime, it's just not the series I personally want more of. I want more of the 2D side scrolling platforming series that I originally fell in love with =p

It's like with Zelda, I like the 3D games but they don't scratch the itch when I'm in the mood for a 2D Zelda affair.

You really think that? I think Zelda will settle somewhere in the 80s because major review sites will slam it for not being Western enough in its open-worldness....
This is dumb, both SS and TP were critical darlings and neither of those were close to perfect

Oh right yes. The best Zelda. He came up with the three day system right? Genius.

Yep.

He also wrote the entire story for Link's Awakening and came up with the concept of the dream, Koholint island and the script of the characters and bosses. He wanted the game to have a similar feeling to Twin Peaks.

Why can't Nintendo let him make games again?

It was tezuka that wanted the twin peaks aspect, tanabe also contributed to the script and created some of the quirky NPCs. But the "Romanticism" of the story, according to aonuma, was because of koizumi.

He directed Mario Galaxy. He also worked on the game design and story. He's Miyamoto's protogé. He also seems to really love the mechanics of a game just as much as story. But it would be cool to see him do another Zelda game again since it's so story driven.

Ah, my mistake then! I'm going to have to hunt down that old interview and read it again.

Zelda has never done a better story than Majora's Mask. He should've been the Zelda guy, not Aonuma.

The reason Aonuma initially became the Project Leader (Director) and now Group Manager / and Producer of Zelda Series is because he was the lead 3D dungeon designer. The very essence of 3D Zeldas dungeons was spearheaded by him. That's why Aonuma got Zelda.

Koizumi had experience being the lead designer of Super Mario 64, so Nintendo needed someone to handle 3D Mario series anyway.

He has a higher paying job and bigger management role. He basically manages a bunch of development teams (mainly in Tokyo) for Nintendo. There's obviously tiers involved, especially as the company grows older and bigger. You can't keep doing the same thing forever.

Him and Aonuma are two of the biggest pupils of miyamoto.

Not really. You can say that about many veteran Nintendo employees. But those are two of the more famous non-Miyamoto names.

Koizumi worked on mario 64 too, so him going to mario and aonuma going to zelda was a good fit in my opinion. It's always a collaborative effort in these games.

And they did a good job choosing the best

I know it's better for him, but I'm selfish and I'm not convinced it's better for us.

Producer role can also be weird in Japan and Nintendo in general too. Koizumi could still provide some hands-on input and ideas to a game project despite his new role as well. We know for some like Miyamoto can be rather hands on himself, but it's unknown by how much for a majority of titles. Could wind up similarly with Koizumi.

I'd just like for Aonuma to work on a modern non-Zelda game to be honest. I think he's great. I want to see what he'd do with something new.

Koichi Hayashida, new Manager and Producer of 3D Mario, is one of the most talented developers at Nintendo. He was basically the lead designer and coder under Koizumi for the Galaxy series. He also created and programmed NES remix mainly by himself as a side project. That's why Nintendo promoted him, and even gave him a GDC spotlight speech.

I love Koizumi though. His position as General Manager is key, because he has a huge sway in what first-party games get made, and how they get made.

I know, but miyamoto handing his two biggest franchises to these two is what makes me think this. I know there's hideki konno, katsuya eguchi and others that received a lot of input from miyamoto.

EDIT: Also, koizumi always had a hands on in mario games. He for example handled personally the rock power up in galaxy 2. Now hayashida seems to be the new main Mario guy.

About aonuma working on a non-zelda game, he talked about it at E3 and he seems interested in creating a new IP about a thief

Me too. Wasn't there an interview before about some in the company asking him to try a new IP? I hope he decides to make one!

EDIT: Koichi Hayashida is an excellent developer and his game design for Mario and how much he can do from level to level is spectacular.
