Wait...what? A list with a new 3D Mario, BotW, and Splatoon 2 on it is meh? What universe did I wake up in?

How does amazon pre-orders work? Will it show up on home page or is there a way to set an alert? Help me out here Bros?

You'll need to search for it most likely.

Depends on if Amazon does pre-orders though, which I wouldn't be surprised if they don't. They also don't charge until it's out btw.

I think all those 4chan games are launch games, save for Mario Kart. There won't be big third party stuff, most of the launch window will be first party stuff.

Bomberman is probably another Momotaru Densetsu situation, Nintendo licensing a franchise and making a game. "The big surprise" everybody mentioned is probably that. I'm sure it's going to be out physically too. Published by Nintendo.

SF2 is probably an edited VC game with online.

Snipperclips and 1 2 Switch are eShop only first party stuff.

Has been Heroes and Fast RMX are day 1 indies.

Arms is the "crazy new IP" Emily was talking about.

Disgaea 5, i have serious doubts that it's a launch day game. Even it's a simple port, it would take months to NISA to bring it here. Summer game, perhaps.

That's about it, I expect nothing more. Maybe FIFA but that's it. No GTA, no Deus Ex, no Tekken, no Dark Souls. Just more Wii U ports and weird gimmick games from Nintendo.
Thats not the full lineup. Just dont expect strong western support outside of a few parties if its successful

I don't mind that, personally, but no other western third party games there? That's just not good.

I don't see that mattering honestly. Anyone who's much into games and likes western third party games already has a PS4/X1/PC this far into the generation.

It would be nice to have some for the Nintendo only crowd and people who'd like to play some of them on the go, but I don't see it affecting sales.

Switch will live or die by people buying it (or not) for Nintendo games and Japanese exclusives (types of games that were on 3DS and/or Vita before). They need super strong support from their base, and to build enough exclusives to entice gamers on other platforms to buy one to complement their main platform(s). That's the whole idea of unifying their portable and console--making is so the first party and Japanese exclusive library is enticing on its own, regardless of western third party support.

If it sales well, then more western third party ports will come. Which again will be nice for the Nintendo-only/portable crowd, but won't make some huge sales difference as most will be playing those on platforms were they run and look better and where their friends are playing online (where applicable).

If you people think that Mario AND Zelda AND Splatoon dayone is lame you probably can ready for disappointment right now. You wont get more than this at launch regardless if this is fake or not.

It's not even a problem, it could be that this are 3 games that dont excite you, it's fine, but you won't get more. Those are 3 of the most important franchises for nintendo.

I think Tekken 7 has big chances of being a launch title for Switch.

Switch needs to have its own identity. Hopefully the games will have the aura of more than a Wii U 1.5. Mario and Zelda could be enough tho

...why are people assuming the 4chan leak is the launch lineup when it's source is a guy working on the playable demo floor? A game can be playable and not be coming in two months as well.

EDIT: Seriously, why? Has there been some other info I haven't heard or something?

I can't imagine Nintendo would have all 3 at launch- since this is allegedly a playable title list I would bet on Mario coming in June or July but being fully playable.

How I feel as well. People aren't hype enough for Bomberman potential either :p

Still, if 3D Mario, Zelda, and Splatoon are all day 1 games? Would be the greatest launch as far as I'm concerned

Man, I get it. I understand why Mario AND Zelda AND Splatoon shouldn't be underwhelming, but those are all things we knew about, which is why I call it lame. I was hoping for a bigger surprise.

a universe where everything got leaked and this conference was inevitably going to disappoint some people who follow this stuff religiously.

I just want to see new 3D Mario extended gameplay.

I don't want to drag this thread into another third party debate, but I disagree. This notion that owners of Nintendo hardware don't care about third party support needs to die. Of course we do, and that's why it keeps coming up. If it looks like the Wii U in terms of support, then they system is in trouble. And having a list like that will burn a lot of the hype people have built up. It can't survive on Nintendo hardware alone.

That's all I'm gonna say about this.

I thought Skylanders was on the chopping block?

An Imaginators port would surprise me a LOT considering what is going on with that franchise right now. I reported that they canned the 2017 game recently and things are going downhill at Toys For Bob right now.

Because we can't really read the most simplicistic things properly. Silly you.

People are expecting shit that will never happen, so of course that list looks dull to them.

That list would make the Wii U third party launch lineup look like the greatest launch in history. Again, I realize its just the playable list but I'm skeptical.

If Zelda, Mario, and Splatoon are launch games, that's the best launch I've ever seen for a home console. But I don't expect that.

Amazing first party lineup. But what about third party? All Nintendo systems have great first party games. But third party is what sinks them. What makes it different than Wii U? If big third party won't support Nintendo, it is a niche product line WiiU.

Dr. Cupcakes says at least some of it is true.

It's not the full lineup but it does look like the day 1 launch games. Nintendo probably is pushing for Zelda and Mario both at launch day to fill the blanks left by third parties.

I also don't expect western AND Japanese third party support if Nintendo fail to garner some attention after the launch window. And Wii U ports are not the way to do that.

Wait...what? A list with a new 3D Mario, BotW, and Splatoon 2 on it is meh? What universe did I wake up in?

I'm still not sold on Zelda and I really hate Splatoon. All I have Mario. If this is the real launch day, I'd be hardly playing my Switch for months. I'm hoping that there's more.

Which means there's a game about breasts.

A game that someone, allegedly being in the know, on 4chan didn't even hint about.

If there's anything pointing toward the list being fake it's that!
Not to make a point about whether I think the list is legit or not, but he claimed he was only setting up kiosks for one of the demo events. I would assume there are plenty of games that will be shown off on the stream that won't be playable right away.

If Zelda is a launch title, Skyrim being delayed would probably be the best move. In fact they could even play that up if Skyrim came out in say June by tailoring marketing towards people who beat Zelda and want something similar.

One thing to keep in mind about that list, it's just the list of games they're letting people play at an event. There should be more games shown that won't be playable.

Using a Joy-Con as an individual controller should be illegal, no matter what plastic add-ons are attached.

The size of a horizontal joycon, from what I've seen (could he wrong) is no smaller in width than a GBA SP or the GameBoy Micro. We have just gotten so used to bigass screens between our controls.
