Two copies sold? That's not a bomb guys, stop trolling!!!
One thing to keep in mind about that list, it's just the list of games they're letting people play at an event. There should be more games shown that won't be playable.

Also, I'd say it's possible that events in other European venues (that list refers to playable titles at an European event) can have different playable titles. Let alone the ones in US and (especially) Japan.

I think ppl want exclusive (or Nintendo exclusive) AAA Japanese third party game other than Monster Hunter, like NNK2 caliber.

Amazing first party lineup. But what about third party? All Nintendo systems have great first play games. But third party is what sinks them. What makes it different than Wii U?

I'm only speaking for myself, but those three games could literally be the only launch games and I'd consider it the best launch ever. I want all of those badly and they'd last me for many months. I'll be honest, I don't care all that much about third party support on Switch. I want an embarrassment of first party Nintendo riches. Just my personal view though. I get that third party is important for others. For me, I get that fix on my other systems.

Dr. Cupcakes says at least some of it is true.

I'm not saying it isn't true; I'm saying that people saying that they're all going to be at launch or, strangely, that it's the entire launch lineup will probably be wrong. Like I said, unless more has come out other than "Liam says some of it's true."

Ask me about the moon landing or the temperature at which jet fuel burns. You may be surprised at what you learn.
Ill take that launch lineup but I hope theres plenty of megatons.

Zelda and Splatoon 2 are not enough?

Not for me. I'm not hyped about Zelda at all and would only get Splatoon if it has some kind of interesting control scheme. The rest of that list isn't interesting at all. I mean, Skylanders? Really? Nothing interesting about that.

That said, this is only some place in Europe and not in Japan. Also, it's only playable stuff (which is still pretty bad for playable stuff), so who knows what will get announced and will be playable in Japan.

Wait...what? A list with a new 3D Mario, BotW, and Splatoon 2 on it is meh? What universe did I wake up in?

I think people who have been following the NX/Switch closely are victim's of knowing a lot more than they admit to themselves.

Through logical deduction of Nintendo's recent releases and general game development times, you can figure out which games have a chance of being shown this year at which won't.

Through following rumors and musings, people figured out the Switch was a hybrid way before it was ever revealed. Those same musings hinted at the high number of Wii U ports.

On one had, it helps keep expectatios in check. On the other, it may create the "meh" feeling." But maybe its worth it if you don't end up as that guy who thinks the Switch will be a PS4 Pro powered home console launching with a new FZero and Metroid.

I think the port Laura is referring to is Mario Maker over Splatoon, but I could see Splatoon having turned into a sequel. Have it include all of the previous content and add double the content.

Also, seems that latest 4chan post is semi correct?

All I know is March 17th can't get here soon enough and I am excited to play BotW. I am curious what console bundles there will be based on what I was told yesterday.

It's two months before launch. Lots of stuff should be playable.

I went to a prelaunch 3DS event and there was more games than on that list. Including ones that came out later in the year like Resident Evil:Mercenaries 3D.

I want to be surprised. It's a good launch "window" line up. But if Nintendo wants me to make a irresponsible financial decision they better bring it.

Didn't notice how late this presentation is. 10 P.M. central for me. This is going to be a long day. Looking forward to the 3D Mario though.

Zelda and Splatoon 2 are not enough?

No. Both would be great don't get me wrong. But I need to see third party games. Since forever, the majority of games I would play with my kids or my kids play are third party. Zelda would be a purchase, so would Splatoon. But my kids varying ages love Destiny, Minecraft, Overwatch, roblox, Fifa, etc.

Again, I know most of you will ridicule me. But I don't believe I'm wrong. Vita, and Wii U are more recent proof of this. Dreamcast, original Xbox are other examples.

If you don't have third party games, especially sports, and shooters you are DOA.

Rocket League is /fantastic/ but I'm not sure why everyone is so keen on a handheld version of a game that is basically multiplayer only and as such requires a decent connection to be really enjoyable. I guess it could be neat to play on the tablet in bed etc., but it's not really a quick-game on the subway kind of game

Stardew Valley on the other hand!

The rumors are also saying that the Rabbids game is delayed and won't be a launch title. Hopefully this means 3D Mario releases earlier, but I release there's an element of wishful thinking there.

Lol at the negativity over this 4chan leak if true for a launch lineup. That looks good and a few new IPs with Mario Mario Mario!

Folks don't get it confused that this is the only games you would see at the presentation. Of course there will be plenty of trailers for games not coming at launch...

I'll say everything that hasn't been already announced/leaked/super-obvious on that list is fake except Has Been Heroes. 4chan poster got that from a trademark search.

And it won't be the entire launch lineup.

Honestly. I never Third Party Support was lacking on Wii,DS or 3DS. Just not what most gamers normally expect. But it was there
i hope the Switch at least manages to keep that kind of support from developers. and so far it seems it will.

Was it not rumoured that the Mario game was finished or something along those lines?

But there are plenty of people, who don't game on the subway, that have great wireless connections to their devices.

Sad times when a new Mario 3d, and Zelda game at launch is considered weak.

They are great games but they are still TWO games. Two is a pathetic number, and is very disappointing for some people, like me. I'm still hoping for surprises that are not Wii U ports, for launch window.

It wasn't lacking, you're right. I bought dozens and dozens of third party titles between those three systems.

You just answered your own question.
I bet tons would love playing those games anywhere around the house.

Oh, god, people are still hoping for some big western 3rd party surprises at the event? Playable nonetheless! That's hilarious.

Also hoping for 2k and Bethesda to put effort into doing demos especially for the Switch events? Come on. We'll get trailers and we'll be happy with them.

You guys are slowly getting crazier the closer we get to the event lol.

We're only about half a day away from getting official info on games. Let's not get ahead and make conclusions until we get to finally see what's there and what's not there.

The PS4 had 3 exclusive brand new games at launch; Killzone: Shadow Fall, Knack and Resogun.

Agreed, I need to see if japanese third party are here for the launch and how they consider this system (ports from portable games or ports from home console).
In this "leaked" list just nintendo games do the job for me and nothing more (splatoon, mario and zelda), so it's really poor.

a universe where everything got leaked and this conference was inevitably going to disappoint some people who follow this stuff religiously.

I just want to see new 3D Mario extended gameplay.

It's not just that they've leaked but that it's kind of a bummer if we've seen all the big launch games already. You'd expect Nintendo to keep at least one ace up their sleeve that they wouldn't show in the initial reveal.

How do you think we'll get the BotW Wii U release date? I picture it as a sideways "Zelda BotW will release at launch and be exclusive to the Switch for (2 or 4) weeks" downplaying the Wii U release and letting us infer the date ourselves.

I don't want to drag this thread into another third party debate, but I disagree. This notion that owners of Nintendo hardware don't care about third party support needs to die. Of course we do, and that's why it keeps coming up. If it looks like the Wii U in terms of support, then they system is in trouble. And having a list like that will burn a lot of the hype people have built up. It can't survive on Nintendo hardware alone.

That's all I'm gonna say about this.

I didn't say that at all.

In fact, I said twice in the post you quoted that those games are nice for the Nintendo-only crowd.

My point is just that they don't matter much for hardware sales as the Nintendo-only crowd are there anyway obviously, and aside from them the huge fans of western third party games are already playing them on other platforms, and will keep doing so for the most part as ports on Switch will be downgraded from the PS4/X1/PC versions.

The Wii U didn't fail to sell because of lack of third party support. It was a poor concept that was poorly named, marketed and priced and just didn't generate strong interest among the larger market or much of Nintendo's base.

To be successful this time Nintendo has to get the marketing and price right, and beef up the software line up (which unifying the console and portable library should do) and it should sell much better. Only then will you see any meaningful western third part support--which again will be great for the oddballs that refuse to buy any non-Nintendo system and would rather play gimped ports--and the portable only nuts as well.

BOMBERMAN hype

wii u version canceled :p
Wasn't the gamecube version pushed back a week or two when the wii version released.

...what?

Name me one company that has every launched with two of their biggest franchises. This is Mario. 3D Mario which is considered one of the pillars of the video game industry. There are other games on the list that you've never seen, yet you quick to judge.

What amazing Wii U launch titles did you buy?

How many of you ever been at such events?

These games are simply what Nintendo of Europe was able to get and picked, nothing more.

Amazon listing it as a March 31 release date.
