Just realized that Bomberman would totally be in Smash

Mario, Mega Man, Pikachu, Pac Man, Sonic and Bomber Man

Shiiieeeet

I know Bomberman is technically Konami, but if they managed to get Snake back, that would cover pretty much all of the old-school third-party characters from the major publishers.

In the words of Hank Hill, his will be done.

Any other info on Bomberman bar the name and "surprise"?

I'd love a return of classic Bomberman.

Konami really isn't doing a lot of traditional game development now outside of bankable stuff like their sports games and Metal Gear, so I wouldn't be surprised if Nintendo licensed Bomberman like they did with Momotaro. And that would almost certainly mean that it'd be like the classic games.

So is the stream really on at 4am UK time? I'm not really hyped enough to stay up for that so it'll be a nice treat to watch when I get up. Is there a thing I can bookmark on youtube so I can go straight to it when I get up? Might be silly but I'd like to watch it fresh so bypassing Gaf.

We'll need another one of those pictures with Mario, Mega Man, Pac-Man, Sonic and Bomberman if that turns out true for Switch Smash. Younger self would be blown away by that picture and news if it happens.

It'll certainly be on Nintendo's Youtube channel, or their website. Just go straight there.

It probably comes from the WiiU failure, but BotW is 20 times more exciting in itself than TP was.

For some individuals, sure. And the game itself might prove more exciting to play as well.

But I'm having some doubts the masses are anticipating its release on that same level TP was. I'm very interested in seeing how well Breath of the Wild sells. It could have good legs if the game really is modern Zelda 1.

Mario and Zelda at launch would be amazing, if those games deliver it could easily be one of the best console launch lineups period. Imagine if n64 launched with both Mario 64 and ocarina of time that would of been incredible. Only planning on 2 games at launch so I'm hoping for Mario and Zelda.

Has Been Heroes - Indie viking style action game. Being developed by Frozenbyte.

Fast RMX - Fast Racing NEO redone on Switch with new content.

Snipperclips - Small title that uses the two joycons for two players.

Super Bomberman R - Surprise!

Arms - Fantasy fighting game. All characters have long arms w/ different powers. TW101 Artstyle.

Disgaea 5 Complete

Ultra Street Fighter 2: The Final Challengers - Port with new content.

Super Mario Odyssey - New 3D Mario title. Logo has a plane in it, implying a new flight mechanic.

1 2 Switch - The Switch's minigame compilation.

Splatoon 2: It's A Sequel Now. You Should Buy It Now.

Thanks!

Going to sleep now, and when I wake up it will only be a few hours until the show! :D

:D :D

*excited* This feeling is what E3 was missing last year.

That 4chan list is composed of multiplayer games mostly :/, that makes sense for the system, but I'm single player gamer mostly, kinda bummer for me if that list turns out to be true.

I doubt Mario Switch and BotW will have the same impact as their N64 counterparts though.

Super Mario 64 is, IMO, the greatest launch game ever bar none. But at the same time, the N64's launch was just underwhelming overall.

Pretty much. Other than Mario, all you had was Pilotwings 64. I personally think their other system launches were better with GameCube's lineup being the best in my opinion. I still think Wii U's lineup was solid for a launch along with Wii.

Just reposting this if anyone missed it:

snipperclips.com and supermarioodyssey.com are both registered to CSC Corporate Domains, the company that hosts Nintendo's websites.

Not a confirmation, but food for thought.

As I said, it's not a final list in any means. It's only a part of what will be announced.

It makes sense to have mostly multiplayer games playable for the hands-on events, they're here to showcase the Switch's features.

I have no idea about the masses. I was more hyped for TP for sure. First for the art style as I prefer the slighly more realistic takes on Zelda to the more cartoony. Second, I hadn't played much Zelda in the years before (really just Wind Waker once) as I hadn't replayed the prior games recently. Compared to now where I played OOT 3D, MM3D, Link Between World's, Wind Waker HD and TP HD the past couple of years.

That's just me though. The game seems to be received well and quite hyped, so I'd be surprised if it wasn't a big hit. I'll definitely get it and play it and probably love it. Just not sure it's a game I need to play a launch (be it buying a Switch or getting the Wii U version) with other things on my plate around the same time.

As has been said many times now, even if those all turn out to be true, they are NOT the only games you can expect to hear from during the presentation.

Still be missing Simon Belmont.

Super Mario Odyssey sounds dope. Would buy.

Zelda very well could.

Ocarina of Time was very much A Link to the Past's core structure and content translated into 3D, and it was well-received in its day. But Breath of the Wild is far more ambitious. It's not just a translation of existing content to a new format; it's, as the original Zelda was in its day, an adaptation of a popular genre (and the same one, even: open-world action RPGs) with a Nintendo twist.

We haven't had a Zelda game follow that strategy since the NES titles.

Could you summarize out for people without high speed internet while working?

I'm expecting a conservative show. Nintendo won't show much beyond launch - aside from a few teases, and third-party support will be an interesting thing to observe. Outside of SEGA, Capcom, Namco, and Square Enix, curious to see what happens. Don't expect Skyrim to be a launch game, and I hope Nintendo surprises with new IP and doesn't focus too much on Wii U to Switch ports. Those are my predictions.
