I'm in Utah too and I am going to Target with my wife in a couple hours to get some other things and I'm curious what kind of lines might be there too. I'm picking up my pre order at BB tonight

I'm still concerned about the duality of hybrid and docked power. Getting AAA games to run on this is going to be struggle for a lot of developers. I was thinking this would be perfect for a game like Destiny, but I am not sure if having to conform to the pretty hefty down clock in handheld mode will be too much of a headache for some.
I think you need to get your expectations in check regarding AAA third party games.

Waiting for middnight launch, around a hundred people here (Santiago, Chile)

Don't really want to but I think I'm going to have to use a screen protector for this. The slim clearance when docking looks precarious to say the least.

I've seen a bunch of console launches and this one seems pretty hype out there.

I think Pokémon go and the Nes classic really helped with some people.

unrelated but I like your username lol

May really need a screen protector on Switch, or a case. I haven't shopped for them yet.

Can you charge it without the dock if you only care about it as a handheld? Without buying any extra like the charging grip...

Probably a dumb question, but can you reformat your micro SD cards from the console? I'd rather not dig through my containers to find the full size SD adapter to plug into my MacBook to reformat.

This would be an awesome feature, but if I had to guess, they could surprise me this time. But it seems too easy for nintendo.

(Not like reformatting SD cards is hard but they always had you do it through some tool you would download on your pc)

Played the Switch on the toilet for the first time. Safe to say that it's a proper Nintendo handheld.

Also, KOF '98 plays alright with the analog stick. The d-buttons are terrible for fighting games, of course.

so anyone have issues with there being a gap between the back panel and the console, close to the power button? (close to 1mm of gap?)

I got mine and have been playing zelda for a few hours. Zelda is great. I love it. But the actual console is....I dont know. It feels rushed. There are things I'm not happy with. Why when docked does the switch still wobble in there? And why is it nothing but hard plastic that is sure to scratch your screen? There are also other things wrong but I will give time to see if I can overlook them.

I don't know. I am loving Zelda for sure but so far people I have showed have not been impressed one bit.

Switch seems pretty good so far. I was expecting small, but it is smaller and lighter than I expected. Setup was super easy.

The joycons are really light in the hands.
There are a couple of minor annoyances with the Joycons. They are uncomfortable, and at 3 meters away, I definitely experienced the weak signal loss, but it really didn't feel like that big of a deal to me.
Once I put it in the joycon grip, the signal loss strangely disappeared - I suspect because my hands weren't gripping around the front of them any more. Still uncomfortable but a little better.
I have a pro controller, but it's been sitting in a separate area charging up. It's all charged up now, so I look forward to trying it this afternoon.

I've played Zelda for about four hours. I'm not sure which I prefer out of Zelda or Horizon ZD. I have so far to go on both. I'd give the slight edge to Horizon at this point just because it has a more interesting and unique opening.
In Zelda there is clearly some minor frame rate issues when there is a lot of grass or fire, but it didn't bother me. I even saw a slight screen tear at one point.
But the world is superb, and seems overwhelmingly vast.

Playing Snipperclips demo while waiting for the midnight release for Zelda. Probably should have just got it digitally.

Not sure if I want to drop $20 for the full version of SClips. Any idea how much content is in this thing? Also, has there been any reviews of that Fast RMX game?

I got the Neon Switch, both the Joy-Cons and the Pro Controller feel natural to hold.

I won't be able to continue playing for a few hours but then I'll get to try playing Zelda BotW with the Joy-Cons freestyle.

I haven't even tried using the grip, I am surprised the rails are metallic, I don't know how much weight that would add.

Definitely, but also the Switch is just really appealing and has great software. Nintendo got their groove back finally.

Any accessories that are mandatory or at least recommended?

I'd say Pro Controller if you will be gaming at home on your TV often or just need a legit controller. From what I understand the joysticks on the joycons while serviceable still aren't legit joysticks and are somewhat in-between real joysticks and the joysticks found on the Vita.

Same nostalgic strategy they used before the DS and Wii launches with the Who Are You ads and Famicom/NES GBAs. The Switch is going to be big, folks.

Nope I would say the joysticks are fine ita just the controller as a whole Is too damn small. That said i am using it and so far it's ok.

I say get a screen protector because I can't see how docking it in and out won't scratch it.

So, how often do consoles usually get restocked? Not going to hit up midnight launch nor walk-in tomorrow - Waiting until after my tax refund comes in around Monday or so - So any ballparks on the chances of any places in the Illinois suburban Tri-Cities area having any in stock/restocked over the next week?

I called bestbuy just to see their procedures and he didnt inspire confidence. He said he can't guarantee stock people are lined up already I said well I ordered months ago and got a confirmation email for 03/03 so I should be fine right and he says "should be"

lol

Going to leave the house around 11:50 and go in the store at 12:10 so that the 9 Switches we have available (I work at the place) are likely sold and I can just pick up my pre-order and go. I worked a few hours today specifically on this Switch stuff, to get our procedures for the people who buy and the people who pre-ordered completely squared away so that there's no confusion. Should be a smooth process.

Few more hours to go!

Played the Switch for about an hr earlier today. Nice screen, Zelda looks and plays good (didn't do too much, but I want to play more). Definitely a game that looked better on the TV though.

Don't like the controls (buttons/sticks/bumpers/L&R/dpad...any of them really) or charging grip, but the joycons & pro controller feel OK to hold (larger buttons on pro controller!).

Not going to pick one up for myself for awhile, not really interested in using it as a portable. Don't know whether to play Zelda on Wii U or wait though. Really wanted to keep playing.

I think it is going to get used to playing with the Joy-Con. I didn't try it on the TV. Zelda played well in hand held mode. I don't have my pro controller yet. I played with the Joy-con attached. Everything felt pretty solid. I'll keep an open mind on how good it feels to play with the Joy-Con. Screen is pretty sharp. Really see those jaggies in Zelda.

Where did you get KOF 98 from? Is it available in the U.K. eShop?

Oh nice! Came to post that question and saw someone already did.

So you can just put Zelda in and see it playing straight away?

I was very surprised to see a 92% out of the box for me. Crazy, never seen anything that charged oob before. Oh and the day 1 patch was there as soon as I powered it up.
