that's a long wait for Metroid Dread... damn :(

Is this 2D Metroid? Or some sutpid spinoff like Metroid bowling or something?

last I heard Metroid Dread is going to be a 2d Metroid. here is hoping that's true and it's not a spinoff

Hopefully it's sooner than fall 06 :( another year's wait would be too much, presumabley that would mean an 07 release for us UK'ers...

When you said 'Team Developments' I was hoping it'd be more than just EAD.

What developments are going on with Intelligent Systems, Hal, Alpha Dream, NST, and Retro Studios?

From Shikamaru to GA !!!

Wow.

You must be Captain Obvious.

I've heard stories, but I never believed them to be true.

If Metroid Dread does indeed exist, I can't wait to see it. I'm a big fan of Metroid Fusion, and a sequel to that would really rank up high on my list.

Wait, is this an official list from Nintendo or some crap you threw together yourself.. Because that would make Nintencats official.

EDIT: Never mind, didn't read the whole thread title. Dumb thread.

Nah. Im Captain Shut The Feck up B*ch. The B* would be replaced with your name if I even had the slightest clue you existed. Zing!

Didn't we already know all of this except for Dread and Rev games, and all those dates were about what everybody was already expecting them to be? I don't get it.

Development teams. If you don't care, then you don't care. Some of us enjoy this stuff.

Pilotwings......the only game that made me get a Nintendo system....not mario, not zelda...not metroid or anything else.... Pilotwings......... I want a Pilotwings Revolution

Why do i get these haters. It's really weird. I don't post that much but when I do it is like for the pure Nintendo love.

I mean damn. I get attacks. I don't get it.

Anyone who thinks I post the obvious is insane. I spent a lot of time previously speaking with Nintendo people and analyzing data i researched to expose a lot of details about Nintendo's infrastructure.

Luv ya Bren!!

I can't believe I'm admitting this, but for a second there...I thought your opinion mattered.

* Metroid Dread -- NDS --- Fall 2006 (Director: Yoshio Sakamoto)
* Stage Debut -- TBA -- TBA (Director: Yoichi Yamada)

Interesting...I hope Stage Debut gets a DS release sometime in the future, it really seems to be suited to the hardware. And if this talk of Sakamoto doing a new 2D Metroid title are true...damn, that would be great.

Otherwise, thanks again Ninja. Much appreciated, man.

Super Mario Revolution -- NRV -- Fall 2006 (Director: ???? )

Koizumi is out after flopshine so perhaps Kenta Usui? Please don't let it be him....I wish Tezuka would be director.

Hi mate, btw.

Ok Captain Obvious.

Wow. So many noob idiots with so little respect for somebody who knows his shit.

I've been coming here for years. I know he's posted good stuff. This shit, however, is so obvious, my grandma could've posted it.

Don't let the n00bs fool you. your work is much appreciated

Thanks, Ninja!

How long has Stage Debut been around? I can remember screens of it when it was some N64 title.

Which somehow reminds me that I want a freakin' Mario Paint for the DS. :(

Mario Sunshine is the best selling platformer this gen and you're calling it a flop? I wish some people would think before they post.

Koizumi can do (and has done) much better than that, it's no real wonder he was taken off the team, just like Konno from MK.

Also Sunshine sales were disappointing to Nintendo, irrespective of whether it was the best selling platformer this gen.

Hey Johnny. Good point. ( I read that on your site)

However, with the new team asssignments I doubt that Tezuka himself is directing. Tezuka right now doesn't even have a team anymore. The former Yoshi's Story & Animal Crossing Team were directly under his jurisdiction while he would help Miyamoto with the other EAD games as a co-producer.

Nintendo split-up all the development teams, and basically assigned several long-time senior directiors with the producer and manager roles of these 20-80 man teams.

Back to the SMB, Tezuka and Nakago (he mainly has had a program supervisor role for the last couple of years) may be really really involved in this one but I still think their main job is probably to supervise and assemble the EAD team working on this one.

Yeah it's doubtful that Tezuka would go and direct a game. When you are in charge of producing games, stepping into the director's role (i.e. hands-on development and planning of a game) seems like demoting yourself.

Question answered.

Isn't EAD also handling the Digitylish series, Super Peach Princess and Mother 3? Are the Eyeshield 21 games being done inhouse or outsourced like JSS?

This is the new Tokyo group, correct? I know they made DK:JB, but I was thought they were formed to make original content for Nintendo, maybe even something mature (well, not mature, but mature by Nintendo's standards.) Has that plan been changed? I was kind of hoping a subsidiary of Nintendo (like NST) would make DK and EAD Tokyo would make an original action or adventure game for Rev. Oh well.

The Tokyo Studio had 2 seperate teams iirc... Shimizu's team is probably just one of them.

Well there are two teams according to the last interview with Shimizu and Koizumi. No clue on what the other game is. Miyamoto confirmed a new Donkey Kong that would be inspired by Jungle Beat but in a different direction. (No more kongas) So that seems like Koizumi will be doing Donkey Kong Revolution. Or maybe.. Miyamoto will give Koizumi back the job of doing Mario Revolution (Super Mario Sunshine guy).

What is the Digitylish series? Super Peach Princess looks like an EAD game. Mother 3 I think I know who is doing that. The anime games I believe Nintendo is just acting as producer and publisher.

Super Princess Peach looks a lot like a Tose game to me. Very reminiscent of the Stafy games.
