1. online - wtf is this? you have to use an app to see your friends list and talk to people. dreamcast had a better online system than this crap. its 2025 this is unacceptable and yet charge $50 a year for this.
2. games - great 1st party games but look at the virtual game system crap, you buy the game, but you have to download it? its so complicated. i dont even know how it works and im a ultra hardcore gamer. want to play old games you purchased on the wii? lol good luck. bc is a joke. want to play even older games? you cant unless you subscribe to nintendo online and emulation is nowhere close to perfect. 1st party games never go on sale.
3. hardware - switch 2 is great but has outdated hardware and yet its selling for $450. accessories are $20 more what they should be. $85 for a controller? we are not millionaires. why would anyone play a game on the switch 2 when you can play the same game on any other console with better performance and gfx.

is anyone other company would do this, especially xbox, people would go crazy. nintendo gets a free pass and its not right.

Do you get something for free if you start a new, pointless thread? This topic has been discussed many times.

Can you criticize Nintendo for past and present decisions? Sure. Does Nintendo care after they broke records with the Switch 2 launch and released a new exclusive title with top reviews, that will sell incredibly well? Absolutely not.

2. Dongle licensing is account agnostic and thus better than all digital like the PC has?

3. Dude, the Switch 2 ended up more powerful than almost anyone predicted as evidenced by many polls and threads where we discussed it being as powerful as the PS4, dlss did work and it actually ended up a lot stronger than expected, especially docked.

4. Other companies ARE doing their own shit and worse and we do talk about it all the time, but you know what, Nintendo takes more shit than anyone so I don't know what you are talking about?

I buy the shit I think is worth it, and other people buy their shit. I can't "unbuy" anything for them, even if I think they should not pay as much for it. It's their money. They can waste it on anything they want.
 
They are the games of your childhood and you are forgiving of the nuances for that company.

I want to play Nintendo games and worry very little about anything else they do.

I disagree. I think Sony and Microsoft get as much as a free pass in certain areas. Yes, Nintendo hardware is underpowered but that's what makes the existence of games like Donkey Kong Bananza and TOTK more annoying. Considering how much much weaker the CPU is in the Switch 2 compared to the PS5 and Series X, why are all the games so static. They look pretty but Far Cry 2 has more interaction with its environment than games now. I have no doubt the next Naughty Dog game will look amazing but everything will be nailed down.
 
1. Everyone and their moms have been complaining about the app since it was annouce when Switch 1 was still new, what are you talking about? They hardly get any pass on the app.

2. Have you been living under a rock? Most gamers specially Nintendo consumers are complaining about the GKC, specially Nintendo fans actually since there are many physical fans not used to the same BS than PS/Xbox. Nobody is giving them a pass for the GKC.

3. Hardware is great and even many "bUt NiNtEnDo..!" crowd have had to admit it, but many people like to bitch about power (weird because I can see the vast majority of those still play on consoles) and hardly get a pass.

I don't see what you're seeing, are you mad that the misinformation isn't having the desired effect or something? You should get away from gaming and social media for a while, it's gonna hurt the following years seeing Switch 2 sales.

If I had a dime for the amount of people who say *X comapny* gets a free pass and they can't keep getting away with it, I'd be a rich man.

All companies get criticized over everything they do. Just because you're not paying attention to it, doesn't mean it's not happening.

To some people, your points don't mean anything, to others they are very important. This is a forum for those people to come and discuss this.

What it sounds like you're looking for is validation and some will give it to you, others won't, again the purpose of a forum.

Nintendo gets criticized like every other company. Just because it's not as harsh as you wish it to be doesn't mean it's not happening.

I was going to say this too. This thread alone proves they don't get a pass.

I'm going to say the same thing I do in each thread for a new system. Wait at least 12 months before we call something a success.
 
Because nostalgia works.

As long as Nintendo keeps giving those nostalgic feelings to their fans, they will keep consuming whatever Nintendo does no matter the issues.

Nintendo is the king of that, Sony has a bit and MS has none.
 
I'm loving my Switch 2 so far but I do agree.

Let alone how bad the battery life is on the console not being mentioned enough.

And also how we're still stuck with digital triggers not analogue, just simple things.

Nintendo and its fans lives by their own rules and reality... I just learned to accept that.

The hardware is ridiculously underpowered, first party output while of quality is vastly overrated and always was very scarce...

But the Switch its a success story and the switch 2 will probably be another. So theres No denying this.

See, even people that live in denial of other things can't deny our sales. That's why we talk about sales. It wins the argument. Shuts it down everytime.

Truth is, every metric anyone can point to will have nintendo winning. EVERY metric.

People aren't really pissed at Nintendo. They are pissed at Nintendo fans for being sore winners. We earned this. We were probably here before you(to be fair there is a group of older atari/pc gamers who are just a bit too old to have gotten that Nintendo magic nostalgia of the NES launch). ...and by the looks of the dwindling interest in other consoles(and poor sales of AAA single player games) we will be here still playing after yall are gone on to another hobby. We went thru hard times being Nintendo fans. We are not eager to go thru them again, nor do we believe propaganda from those who don't know our history.

The conspiracy theory of Nintendo getting higher reviews than they should has been completely debunked, but I do enjoy seeing that argued because whoever say it just completely invalidates themselves in my eyes. It's up there with no moon landing and flat earth. How could such a conspiracy theory be kept secret for so long by so many people? How could the review audience be more biased towards Nintendo than the actual audience? If the actual audience and the reviewers have the same bias, are the reviews then not correct and perfectly valid for the audience for which they are intended? Would you rather we find people who hate Nintendo to do these reviews? What about the user reviews on any website ever, do they bribe for those too? Oh my.
