No live stream for Microsoft Gamescom media briefing

I don't know if a gaming convention where you will have a finite amount of time to play is the best judge of a game. That goes for both negative and positive impressions other than really obvious things (controls, grafics)

That's true, but I'm tired of being told to be excited for a game that no casual consumer has had a hands on experience with. I'm not gonna nitpick words, but I'm gonna gauge the general reaction, to see if this game is at all worth getting hyped over.

I think after their last public showing for Xbox One, at Evo2k13, where the audience boo'd and heckled the microsoft people on stage to leave, they might not be doing anymore live conferences for a while. I dont blame them, their public image is so bad at this point, best to launch and hope for the best.

Fine by me. I'll be sleeping when all this goes down anyways. Can't wait to wake up the next morning and visit all the sites to catch up on all the news.

As long as all the news comes out immediately, and game footage, I don't give a rats ass, makes no difference to anyone.

Why would this indicate what you're saying? If what they had was impressive, they would want the most eyes on it.

They can control the information they have if it's snippets and let IGN or Gametrailers do the work for them. They don't need a huge live stream if the presentation is going to be short. I mean, don't get me wrong I want a presentation too but this isn't that bad.

Sometimes I feel sorry for Major Nelson. It has to be soul crushing to be a professional shill spewing out bullshit on a daily basis.

edit: oops, Spencer said that. Fuck that guy.

Doesn't make your statement about larry any less true.

This is quite lame, I don't expect much, only PR for exact release date, new previews for currently announced games, Indie games, Kinect games, and finally European media features.

They did not stream their event at 2011 with Resistance 3 announcement

Here ya go.

Yeah but what kind of presence who knows. Japan's a tier 3 country at best right now.
Just to tag along for FFXV AND KH III trailers.

With Tier 999 Japan for Microsoft don't expect anything.
Go 2ch and tell Japanese to mad this word then

? they did. i remember seeing it (and it was gc 2010, not 2011).
Oh typo,should be 2010
And they didn't stream it,maybe you talking about some 320p videotaping

I think we all preety much knew Microsoft blew their load at E3 in an attempt to salvage the only market that mattered, the US market. Also i dont know how much influence these press events would have on the eventuall console financial performances, my guess is its impact would be very little because people who are Xbox fans would still opt for an Xbox one anyway

at Evo2k13, where the audience boo'd and heckled the microsoft people on stage to leave

Wait, what? they actually got boo'd? What were they talking about? Since it's EVO, I'm assuming KI, but what got them boo'd?

It kind of seems they're looking at E3 and saying "Those who were going to buy an XOne are going to be excited by our news at Gamescom, and the others won't change their minds because of anything new we announce". I'm kind of curious as to what they'll have in store for TGS considering just how poorly the 360 sold there.

Eh, if the E3 gameplay didn't excite you, the game is probably not gonna be for you. Could be wrong, tho.

I think another possibility is MS not having confidence in their ability of management to drive home their message to gamers on stage given how badly they have done in the past two opportunities this year.

Maybe the thought is deliver your message to the press and let them deliver it to their followers whom they have a good report with. Release trailers and gameplay vids, give hands on to all but keep the suits on stage talking to gamers out of the equation. Media outlets become your voice as well as any trailers, announcements and gameplay/hands on discussions and not bad delivery of stage demos/speeches from a team that has fumbled badly twice now.

Not a fan of this approach but I haven't been a fan of their approach at the reveal or e3 either.

Maybe they will edit in the cheers instead of getting employees to do it live.

It will be like watching pre recorded wrestling!

MS dude - "And we would like to announce a new character for Killer instinct"

crowd - "oooooowwwwwWHHHAAAAAA"

Pretty sure people cheered for KI at E3 wasn't edited, many people was surprised

And where does it said the E3 cheers also all by the employees?

There is a reason it is a "small invite only" event. They know who will spin for them.

"Excuse me sir, may I see your badge to get into the MS event?"
"Sure, here you go."
"You are not on the list."
"That list you have? But I can see it from here, there's only two names on it...Gies and Leadbe-"
"Get out."

I think XB1 will relase in JP this year as a surprise reveal at TGS. Wasn't CBOAT saying theyll launch at 14 countries?

So?

they also brought Games at comic con and they also have game studios in Europe . What's your point.

XB1 is not coming to Japan this year. Look but don't touch.
So?i'm not discussing XB1 going to Japan this year or not in this thread, and they bring XB1 and XB1 games to Japan at TGS,that's it
