No more updates for Cyberpunk 2077 until 2022.

I already played like 75 hours on PC and loved it. I'm kind of over it, though, no plans to revisit until there's a big expansion.

The game is now pretty stable, even on last gen, despite some few remaining bugs. There is no need anymore to patch the game every month, its better they get out of rush mode and take their time to deliver a good next gen version and first expansion.

That said, they recently updated their Steam QA test branch after two months of inactivity, so I think we should get at least one more update before EoY.

Same, but I played through it on a PS4 Pro - bugs and all, and still absolutely loved it.

The story really didn't branch as much as I thought it would (until right near the end) so not sure what I'd even do when the next-gen version lands, I did most of the side quests and kept almost all the characters alive in my first play-through; and the combat/skills really don't change the core gameplay loop enough to warrant a second go.

This was my favorite game of last year. Still amazing despite some bugs and cut content.

I'm bummed about the delay though. I'm waiting for all the updates before I do another play through.

At this point,whatever.

Not touching this game until the next gen upgrade.

And even then, maybe if it still has major issues. My desire to play cyberpunk is at near zero.

I'll check it out if they have a no man's sky redemption with this game.

The only way they can fix and save this game is by straight-up re-investing a quarter/third of the budget into rewriting the core code which is a disgusting, unoptimised, badly managed mess.

I don't know if re-releasing the game as a Deluxe/Finalised version with better added immersion, AI and a few additional places/quests would make it profitable, but this is the only way it can be saved.

As a comparison, No Man Skys had a very robust, optimised, clean base, it just missed a lot of the content that was advertised, and that's why it could be saved year after year. That and the fact that they don't have corrupt stockholder leeches that want to milk every dime while investing next to nothing...

That's fascinating given there's been movement on the QA depot as recently as yesterday, and historically as far as Cyberpunk 2077 is concerned this usually happens at most a few days before an update is released.

I'll be dead before this game is completed and I can play it without remorse, right?

I loved the game

But seriously, why bother?

They plan to release DLC more than a year since launch? How many new copies they expect to sell even after the next gen patch?

Saw a new PS4 copy for the equivallent of 4 dollars today.

Just take your L, learn from it, and make one hell of a great game next time

And dont forget the MP mode which was supposed to a nugget for later in the game's lifespan. Who knows when that will come out (if ever).

OMG! Well there is only 2 more months left and they are holiday months, so more like a month and a half really. It sure has been quiet for a few months though. Hope they are still working on it.

They're actively hiring people to help fix it among other things. I don't doubt their dedication, I just don't think it's possible to fix this mess of a game.

Stepped in the other day. Nothing felt updated about it for me. I think the problem isn't even the bugs at the end of the day. I actually didn't experience most of the bugs farmed on youtube videos for memes. I just found the overall game experience, arc, and structure dull. I think the problem is at the root of the game's design. I don't think you can patch that out. Maybe they can prove me wrong.

They should probably just worry about making their next game iron-clad, but truth be told, I'm more interested in all the devs that splintered away from CDPRs execs to try their own thing. I won't get hyped, but I'll be watching.

Local shop has physical for 25. Might bite and wait for free upgrade.

I got NMS dirt cheap when Hello Games were quiet and I don't think the games has been as cheap since.

I played and beat the game after 37.5 hours on December 23, which would be after the 1.05 patch was released. The bugs are one thing, but the stiff open world and lack of engaging gameplay aren't really things that can just be easily patched and I doubt those will ever be addressed at all.

I might return to it after the actual DLC is released. Maybe. Good on them for continuing to fix the bugs and such with the game though, even if more patches are delayed. I think by now most of the major stuff has already been take care of.

Nailed it. I can tolerate bugs and jank but there was so much wrong on a fundamental level. It was like I could see the seams of the game as things started falling apart, breaking the immersion in the process.

I thought the gunplay felt good though, even if the encounters left a lot to be desired.

A lot of the "RPG" stuff felt like window dressing to cover up an otherwise hollow experience.

The game has a very low rating on GOG btw which says it all I think. Even the faithful can't pretend it's not a turd.

I am okay with this. I have already nearly 100 percented the game and have uninstalled until major DLC is released. They are making it easy not to go back until then.

When are those idiots going to stop posting useless roadmaps? They look more ridiculous every time. At this point, I'm convinced that they're just doing this to string their investors along. Upper management needs to go

On PC at least, it's now a solid game. Of course it was hyped to hell and back; the marketing campaign did way more harm than good in the long run. Taken on its own however, the main issue with the game was the hilariously unpolished nature of the game. Those bugs are now are largely gone.

From the get go I always thought of it as a open world Deus Ex. And that's what it is, if a bit lacking on story choice and consequence, but with much much better combat and build variety.

Seems like they've finally learned their lesson. Rather than rushing things, they are taking their time.

Still havnt played yet and am waiting for the PS5 version. So much other stuff to play that they can take as long as they need to get this ready.
If only the game was worth the wait. It needs a lot more than a next gen version

Man, I feel bad for those not on the PC. I am happy that I completed the next gen version of the game on PC a long while ago

I would say they're better off just doing a sequel and starting over.

The main success of the Cyberpunk 2077 was the marketing.

It's kind of crazy to consider that they wouldn't even allow reviewers to use their own footage at first and most reviewers were so desperate for that pre-launch review that they agreed to play ball.

Even worse is all the behind closed doors previews and demos and stuff that "influencers" had access to and almost none of them were sounding the alarm on what was coming.

Imagine what kind of state the game was in June 2020 when this gushing praise was heaped upon it.

There's just no way he played this 6 months out from launch and actually thought it lived up to the hype. No way at all.

The marketing campaign was by far the most impressive thing about this game.

Just let it go, CDPR.

Yeah I agree. The brand image and PR is just too far gone. I used to think CDPR and go "omg I can't wait for what they do next" and now I think "CDPR = poison, stay far away, do not ever buy" after the misery that was Cyberpunk. It's too late. Cyberpunk is unfixable. Just kill it and move on and hope people forget.

Would love to know what's going on behind the scenes at CDPR. It's definitely strange how little they did in 2021. Basically just three major bugfix patches. Makes me think there are either major problems at a development level after all the exits at the company, or at the technical level in trying to wrangle the game's code.

People are way overboard in terms of dissing the quality of the game, however.

Regarding this game, I wish they just abandoned it and let it die already, since it's bad anyways.
Regarding the developers, I wish they could turn this around a do a "FFIXV A Realm Rebon"

The question is: How possible is it to turn this around? is this just about graphics? Does it involve gameplay changes, story changes, a complete overhaul?

how is the ps4 version on ps5 bc do i wait for the new gen or can i play it now? fyi i preorder it back in 2020.
I've never had any game come close to the amount of crashes I had than when I played the PS4 version on a PS5. The sheer volume of bugs on top of that was insane, worse than any game I've ever played... and I platinumed Fallout New Vegas on a PS3, so that says a lot.

Oh its a complete overhaul thats needed.

I fucking wish it was JUST about graphics, I'd never have an issue with it, but its biggest issues are not bugs or graphics. The Division had a massive downgrade, yet moved monster units, the community doesn't really care THAT much about if the game looks a bit different, if it is a fun game, you'll see people respond well.

CP2077's situation is far worse. The game is basically fighting to meet GTAIII levels of AI, both in the open world and in actual combat. I'd wouldn't even care if the NPCs couldn't drive bikes or the cops couldn't drive cars if no fucking wanted star system existed and if gangs didn't exist... I can fucking believe you can drive, I can believe a law exist, I can believe gangs exist..... I have a hard time then believing that cops can't drive cars in the future, gangs also can't drive cars ohhhhh but they can in a fucking scripted scene...thus, the concept exist for them to do that, yet they can't do that in the open world....sooooo sounds to me like this team has massive issues as they are trying to sell you on a concept they can only do in a deeply scripted on rails QTE type thing, while showing trailers about being the most advanced open world game.

They knew what they were doing showing that deceptive stuff as why the fuck would we not assume a cop can drive a car and a gang can drive cars to come after you if they literally put that stuff in a trailer to have gamers assume its a common thing in the game vs scripted scene that only fucking happens once.

The knew what they were doing and it makes me question if they ever even planned for the game to even be anything that was listed, stated, shown in trailers etc or just lie about it and pretend it was an accident, but I knew they could do something like that as people kept giving them a pass on Witcher 3 even though they are only telling people the day after the game came out it was a downgrade, why not before? Why wait until its sold? It tells me they are willing to fucking lie about this shit and I question if such a game every even existed even earlier as more time goes on and that stuff is still not in the game, its not because of a few bugs, its cause it likely never existed in the first place.

As more time goes on, we start to see just how deep this lie is. If it was just a few months needed, why the fuck are we looking at 2022 JUST for a next gen patch? If even having AI is something we need to wait for 2022 for, clearly it means they lied about a lot shit.

If Witcher 3 next gen update doesn't look like that 2013 trailer...again, it proves as more time goes on, we see just how deep those lies go. If it was really a downgrade, why not have it look BETTER then that 2013 version? Did.....did it even fucking exist? It means even the shit I was pissed off about before with them waiting to tell people after they bought the game is far worse, they may have never had such a game exist at all, as in its not a downgrade, that game simply never existed and was simply shown to scam people. We don't need next gen to have AI hunt you down and fight you and we don't need next gen AI to drive cop cars or have common sense open world features. It tells me this is more then a simple overhaul, those elements we are waiting for may have never existed, been really planned to ever actually be a thing and simply stated to scam consumers.

I wish it wasn't the case, but as time goes on, its clear this isn't simply a few things here and there.

Would this game have banged if it was glitchless on launch?

They better have a multiplayer addon in the works. Some GTA online wannabe feature will save it.

About as useful and impactful as Spider-Man exclusive character for Avengers. These guys were the darlings of the industry, brighter than Blizzard, burned out even faster. They have a lot of repairing to do, to fix their reputation for their next title.

Haven't seen somethings this sad since Anthem.

Whatever anyone says about Square and Final Fantasy, the effort the company put into fixing FFXIV is industry leading. It's a very high bar, probably the highest ever displayed.

Cyberpunk and CDPR are on Intellivision Amico and Atari VCS level.
