No more updates for Cyberpunk 2077 until 2022.

What's that? CDPR not meeting the target dates they set for themselves?

Well that's only the 43rd time that has happened!

If you cannot commit to a deadline you set yourself, then why even bother? Surely at some point these guys will wake up?

They're never gonna get the game in the shape that was promised. Just look at this shit:

This game is a trainwreck but how did people expect such a gigantic patch on 2021, when they have still been busy ironing out game-breaking bugs?
This things take months and months. There's no way the next-gen update is happening before second half of 2022.
They're also pressured to release it in an non-dreadful state, which will take even more time.

You can have it good or have it now. And you've seen what happens when you get it now.

This example sadly enough is probably one of the biggest issues I had with the game there seems to be a absolute massive disparity between what they're showing in the trailer and the actual game and I don't even mean anything graphically as clearly we know this is simply a CG trailer to market or advertise, what I mean is that the narrative of what this person is saying in the trailer is something that basically never occurs, nothing even remotely like what they show in the trailer even happens in the game. So it makes me question If any of this ever existed at all or if all of it was simply a scam to try to entertain specific ideas, with no actual real element in the game that actually supports what's shown in the trailer.

For God sakes they have an entire story element thing going on that doesn't exist in the game this is beyond simply just marketing the world in general it's a literally trying to fake an entire mission that doesn't happen....

So I believe we're never going to get the game that was promised because it starts to question if it ever existed in the first place.

So I'm sorry but they know exactly what they were trying to do with faking all of those trailers, There's no way electronic arts or Ubosoft comes out with a trailer to a game that's telling you all of these elements in some fake mission, yet no backlash comes from the actual thing being shown not even existing in the fucking game.

At this rate you might as well wait for the sequel - Cyberpunk 4154, (I just made that up..) that might end up being in a better state than 2077 was...

Their only shot is relaunching in 2023 with third person mode and complete reworking of multiple core systems in the game.

The game's reputation is a complete joke and they're frankly wasting their time doing anything less than that. Should just start a different game.

Only shot at what? They've already made a ton of money on this game.

Sadly, i doubt anyone is gonna be excited for whatever they develop next.
I know i won't be buying their next game even remotely close to launch if at all, the good will built with Witcher 3 has gone down the toilet.

Redemption. They have made money at the expense of their customer good will and future reputation. It wont be as easy to repeat the same sales on their next game without repairing the damage done.

Looking forward to when the super epic complete final DX version of this game can be had for five bucks, if I still give a rat's ass and am still alive by the time it happens, will be a great point to jump in on this dumpster fire.

I've never had any game come close to the amount of crashes I had than when I played the PS4 version on a PS5. The sheer volume of bugs on top of that was insane, worse than any game I've ever played... and I platinumed Fallout New Vegas on a PS3, so that says a lot.
i am going to wait for the patch thanks.

Enough already!

The game entered pre-production in 2015.
Cyberpunk has been in development in some capacity (planning, concept, early pre-production work) since, at least, late 2011. It was announced the following year, in 2012, during a CDProjekt RED investors meeting and then the teaser trailer came out in 2013. Back then, the plan was to develop Cyberpunk alongside Witcher 3, but then they realized that was not viable given their team size at the time, so 2077 was put on hold until work was wrapped up on W3 and the DLC. During those early years, the game was much more different, like, it was third-person (with a choice to switch to first-person as well, similarly to Bethesda games), there were some always connected online features similar to those of games such as Destiny or The Division, there were some mechanics missing in the final product, and the overall art direction was entirely different. All of that changed with the reboot in 2016, as the game engine had to be done entirely from scratch and the creative leads on Cyberpunk were replaced, and the rest is history...

The whole thing is branded wrong from the start. There's almost zero rpg in there. CP2077 should be labeled and marketed as a linear action adventure game, I honestly think they'd have dealt with a lot less problems if they had done so.

the game would have been so much better if they communicated it as a mafia style game that just uses the open world as a background to tell a story and dropped all the broken or shitty looter shooter/rpg mechanics. they could in turn use the time to polish up enemy AI and implemented some open world features that are expected like better ped AI and traffic AI.

Are you talking about the game as a whole or specific platforms, because the CP77 experience is not homogenous across all.
I was referring to the complete bull they have in their marketing that isn't anywhere in the game. It seems very content poor, but honestly I'm waiting to play still.

Are all the people who liked this comment PC players? Because I have a ps5 and I want that next gen update I was promised. The last thing I want is them moving to a different game.

This is just the latest of multiple videos I've seen like this since launch:

It's perfectly reasonable to form conclusions based on ample supporting evidence.

Oh man! You're going to be SO upset when you watch the CG trailers for other games compared to the games themselves.

Here's one to get you started!

I´ve been playing on PC lately and i have to give credit to how good it looks and how well it runs. Very smooth and stutterfree experience.

Bugs on the other hands are still there. Like alot of them. Npc:s standing above ground, below ground, inside objects and sometimes they transport from one place to another in a blink of an eye. I´ve had to restart several quests due to npc bugs. Hopefully they can polish it up because it´s a fun game that just need some better enemy ai.

either they don't know WTF they are doing and are all running about like headless chickens over there in Poland

OR they are holding everything back and doing a relaunch of the game.

anyway, until then i'll just keep playing the game and having a shit load of fun. i'll replay it when they are done with patches/dlc/expansions.
They're running around like chickens sniffing their own farts. I know a couple of people on it, and even when I told them the game was dogshit, they were so hyped up by it, they just told me to keep playing to get to the good stuff.
I haven't spoken to either of them recently but after some conversation I came to the conclusion that they are basically an immature studio, overeaching, and they think the public should be impressed because they think you should take that into account. Like a child would with a parent. It's no-mans sky all over again. They just really believe they are doing something great.

I already played like 75 hours on PC and loved it. I'm kind of over it, though, no plans to revisit until there's a big expansion.
Same here, 250+ hours, multiple lifepaths, mods, loved it a ton but it feels like I've done it all, I still dabble with mods occasionally when nothing else is pulling me in but I'm mostly over it. Would jump in day 1 on an expansion though. A new lifepath would be fun. Undercover cop, netrunner mercenary, feels like there is so much they could do, reading the lore makes you think they've barely even scratched the surface of what they could do with this game.

got it dirt cheap. Was gonna wait till the next gen upgrade. But they keep pushing it further away so i finally decided to just jump in.

That first hour is great. And had bug free intro. But after that first hour i started seeing the cracks...and the glitches. Things just spawning behind me. NPCs cowering in fear for no reason, en masse. A world you can't interact with. The driving sucks from a control and audio standpoint. lots of outdated UI and inventory problems.

But if u just focus on playing the missions and story. And play it like a Cyberpunk movie.....i like it.

Well seeing as I beat 4 times in the first month and haven't touched it since and would only play around with the update as curiosity.. 🤷‍♂️

I didn't know which thread to revive so I picked this at random.

Is this game worth playing yet or should I keep waiting?

I'm on ps5 and have one of those $10 best buy copies I'm sitting on. I honestly was thinking about booting it up and a friend sent me this and it gave me pause. lol
I'm sure most of that footage is from launch, but at this point I'm wondering if it's ever going to be worth playing on console...

No.
The later the better.
Throw the game back on some shop and don't think about it for a year. If it gets a decent patch or in a decent state, you'll hear it, as someone will make noise.

My advice, get it on PC. Moders seem to be doing a better job fixing the problems than CDpr, and with Sony bending the knee so much on SJW these days, it's more likely to be censored consoles.

Has Keanu Reeves ever been asked how he feels about looking like a complete mug being CDPR's celebrity mouthpeice, selling and pedalling a work of fiction and empty promises to the masses?

I don't think for one second he knew about any intentions of the game being released unfinished and broken.

But they did make him look like an idiot in my opinion standing on stage and giving interveiws and advertising how magical and unique the world of Cyberpunk 2077 was going to be, only for the game to be one of the biggest disasters in gaming history.

He already got his paycheque and as far as his concern he done his job hyping people, the rest is CDPR's problem.

thankfully I HATE celebrities in video games, so for me it has opposite effect of making me less hype for a game.

been playing since the last patch and it's been running extremely well on XBox series x and PC. hopeful for 1 last update this year but who knows

Yeah but will it ever be good on current gen? On PC does it really fix all the issues people have with the empty world and shallow gameplay or does it just have less bugs and better performance?
You know... you sort of answered the question yourself with how you staged it.

It probably went like this…

Agent: "Apparently that game you did some work on turned out to be shit"
Keanu: "Oh really, that's too bad"
Agent: "Yeah never mind"
Keanu: "So what else is going on"

PC just runs better. it had a lot of bugs and still has many.

the map still feels dead. npcs wander around like zombies. there's not much reason to explore the map. it's there mostly there just for show which is a shame because it really does look amazing. On a technological level Night City is impressive. It's crazy how CDPR managed to build it. i just wish they made it fun to explore and interact with.

all the RPG elements feel useless. you have a character creation but your appearance doesn't really matter. you only see yourself in the menu, mirrors, third person vehicle camera, and a cutscene at the end of the game. when i saw my character i was thinking i forgot they had those piercings, that lipstick, and blue eyes! the game also lets you level up stats and build a skill tree. i never felt like it made any difference. you can upgrade weapons but there's no need. you could get through the game with the same sword/gun from the start of the game.

police/enemy interaction is fucked. police situation is a bit better than it was but don't expect anything like GTA. npc enemies are brain dead and blind. the stealth sections are so easy because the AI is so bad. enemies will "see" you but it doesn't matter because they won't really do anything except shoot at you. they can't easily target or follow you.

the story is always on the go so it rarely if ever makes any sense to stop and go do side quests. maybe at the start of the game. the story is so short so i got through it and had hardly got any money to buy cyberware or a car. i went through it with the starter car and basic cyberware (the chip you get for hacking and some other shit you get early on). the game introduces characters and forgets/abandons them. i thought characters like jackie/evelyn/judy/panam/smasher/alt/rogue/meredith were all gonna be important characters throughout the story but nope. jackie dies. evelyn disappears but you find her and then you never see her again. judy appears for a couple missions and you never see her again. same with panam. smasher appears at the beginning and i know you can fight him but my ending i never saw him again. rogue is hardly there. alt shows up for a bit and that's it. meredith is on screen for like a minute then dies. characters like judy/panam if you want more of them you need to go to their side quests cause they quickly fall out the main story.

the game is all over the place. it's rushed and unfinished. it's broken. even if CDPR do patch the game and add expansions it's not gonna do much. the game needs completely reworked on the levels of FFXIV/NMS and that ain't gonna happen. i have just stopped caring about the game. i guess all we can really hope for now is that the next Cyberpunk game learns from all these mistakes. there is no hope for 2077. i would only recommend playing it if you wait until they release more patches, all the free DLC, and expansions. once that's done and we get a "Enhanced Edition" then buy that for cheap when there's a sale.
