Even though it doesn't look quite as nice as the reveal, Deep Downgrade still looks pretty hot, and goddamit if Monster Hunter wouldn't look ACE with that engine. DAMMIT WHO'S WITH ME.

And if you're not, cuz you know, you're not that into Mon Hun (I never even finished Tri, but the art design is like the best of all time and I wanna see it in sparkling next-gen console graphical clothing)... Then what current series would you like to see get engine upgrades? Any specific engine?

P.S. The Cryengine Mon Hun made by some random developer doesn't count.

Why? MH is cheap and sells a lot, for what possible reason would Capcom have to massively up the development costs? Of course from a gamers perspective it's a great idea from a business perspective not so much.

Hopefully it's an engine that fulfills all the requirements that are necessary to make an open world game.

MT Framework unfortunately was designed for games that loaded everything up front.

The truth hurts my body.

I thought I'd see a hunter snatching a thong from Rathalos, this thread has made me sad.

No seriously, that engine with MH was the first thing I thought back in Feb, but you know that's too good to actually happen.

Now I actually want a game where you steal panties from monsters.

I came here for panty raid engine.

Seriously though, Monster Hunter in a next gen engine would be amazing. Capcom doesn't seem to know what it's doing these days.

Yesssssssssssss.

It won't happen. Capcom is going to reuse assets of MH so many times that the Morrigan sprite will look underused compared to it.

The only way Capcom will move MH away from the safe and cheap handheld production is if people stop buying them.
Or if another company makes a MH clone on consoles and becomes a big success.

In this particular case, they seem to know exactly what they're doing. MH (and the whole hunting genre) mostly sells on portables, developing a AAA console version would be a huge waste of time and money.

Monster Hunter will go mobile before it goes mainly to consoles. Consoles are just not what drives that series.

Why would they when they are going to be making tons from the sales of MH4 on 3DS?

If anything, they'll milk the crap out of the tech for another 3-4 years until Ninty decides to upgrade their hardware.

Deep Down looks like Monster Hunter

They will probably have now two franchises

MH for handhelds and Deep Down for homeconsoles.

My bet is they'll go where the money is. So if PS4/One sell like hotcakes, there's a great chance they'll make one with the PRE.

They know exactly what they're doing with MH...From a business perspective it would be absolutely dumb to spend the money on making a next-gen MH that would sell a quarter (at best) of what a handheld MH would do.

Pfft, forget it. They want MH exactly where it is. Cheap to make with maximum profit. The fact that they moved its development from ps3 to wii just says to me that they want as much money as possible from this series before anything else.

Monster Hunter is for the Japanese commuters. They don't need to do a next gen MH using the panta rhei engine, they just gotta throw it on the 3DS and watch it sell millions.
