No srsly Capcom its time to make Monster Hunter with that panty raid engine

Yes, yes I endorse this action. I am so tired of playing Monster Hunter games stuck in this same eternal tech generation.

But I too would settle for Dragon's Dogma 2.

No.

It's too expensive. The whole point about MonHun is that it sells like an AAA game, with 1/20 of the development costs.

Why? MH is cheap and sells a lot, for what possible reason would Capcom have to massively up the development costs? Of course from a gamers perspective it's a great idea from a business perspective not so much.

Who said it has to replace handheld monster hunter games. Continue with numbered monster hunter on hanhelds. They can call next gen version Monster Hunter Omega for all I care. I'd like them to take a few nods from Dragons Dogma so it isn't exactly the same as the main handheld series.

Its amazing how people empathize with Capcom from a business perspective rather than a consumer one. You must be out of your minds if you really don't want to see MH in a shinier coat of paint. The art design alone is worth it!

The most successful console version has sold around 1.9 million units. That would not be anywhere near enough with a brand new engine that doesnt have its roots in a handheld or Wii level tech.

1.9 million might be passable on something like the Wii U and an engine at that level but it likely wouldnt generate enough profit for them to want to do the effort

I think they should. They can still make the cheap handheld versions that make bank alongside, and a next gen monster hunter would be amazing and would massively drive next gen adoption in japan giving them a larger install base to sell their other games to. Eh, maybe that's a bit of a stretch because I want them to do it...but they should :P

Do you see that on the horizon? That flesh colored mountain headed for you at supersonic speed? That's an EPIC BROFIST INCOMING.

What I want and what's reality always doesn't lineup

Tbh I couldn't care either way

I'd much rather see Dragons Dogma sequel than MH with this engine. I mean, both would be great, they're masterworks all you can't go wrong.

While I thought the games were interesting, I will take more MH if it means there is a chance Itsuno and crew might get bored and wanna make dmc5.

sadly Dragon's Dogma 1 burned me eyes out, bought it and put it on the shelf after 30 minutes. 2 on next gen should be good tho.

If you would have followed MH at all, you would've seen that 4 already borrowed stuff from DD like climbing on monsters or rusted gear similar to the bbi stuff in arisen.

I have a conspiracy theory that Capcom went with nintendo for the new MH series because it'd mean less work on the graphics.

It's paranoia and innately insane but it makes me feel better about needing to play MH on my 3DS. (Seriously that thing does not have enough battery life)

Deep Down isn't a sequel to Dragon's Dogma is it?

I like Dragon's Dogma and would love to see it with a better graphics engine...

Monster Hunter on consoles is neither in Capcom's nor my best interests. If it's similar to MH3U where there's a console upport (for whatever hardware) to go along with the handheld entry I don't mind but me and the majority of the MH fanbase don't want to give up portability. If it comes at the price of "superior tech", so be it. MH4 looks like a worthy sequel.

I'll take Dragon's Dogma on it since MH sucks.

I never got this kind of thing, I don't go into topics exclusively discussing a game I dislike and post about how I think it sucks. Why is it so hard for others? I mean I can understand expressing feelings like that in topics that are more general but come on, it has MH in the very title!

You had me at panty raid.

Also with how packed MH4 seems to be, would they be able to cram that much content with an advanced engine? I doubt it. Like, with even Tri which was done on a sort of new engine, newish assets etc, the content was a bit lacking compared to the PSP games.

It's time to make monster hunter for Vita

For those of you entering the thread and not giving a shit about Mon Hun...

Ok, picture FF Tactics with the Luminous engine.

Imo you won't see a real monster hunter hd from capcom(at least if they won't reuse the assets from the chinese mmo) because imo they don't want to spend lots of money on high quality assets for so many monsters, armors, weapons etc and maybe it wouldn't be as profitable as reusing the ps2 level assets.

Well I only posted since the OP mentioned Dragon's Dogma otherwise I would have just said nothing and looked at other topics.

yea after seeing deep down in panty raid engine I want a MH game in that engine.

But yea its never happening anytime soon.

Exactly. Look what happened to Dragon's Dogma. Super expensive, sub 30fps and lacking content. Bombed "hard". Probably already dead. Also MH is not popular enough in the west to back up such a huge investment.

Or if you have a brain.

I think you left out "malfunctioning" in front of the word "brain"

But really my point above is basically nothing good ever comes from coming into a topic with fans discussing a game and saying how much you think it sucks

It's just grating no matter what game it is.
