If I win I'll give 50,000 to the top 3 charities GAF votes for.
My mother has always said this. But don't worry! Just wish for one of the multiple $1M prizes, or even a $50,000 if you're paranoid!I'd be scared of winning that much money.
Not sure what I'd become.
I never advocate people play the lottery. Or gamble at all! But at $250M+ I can't not buy a ticket. Well, 5, to be precise, one for each member of the family. That's our official threshold. My mother has always said this. But don't worry! Just wish for one of the multiple $1M prizes, or even a $50,000 if you're paranoid!
I could buy so many 4K OLED monitors for that money!
Or rent an Oculus Rift.
The problem is also that your name, face, and address pretty much gets broadcasted everywhere, especially with 'historical' jackpots like this. I know you can not have it announced but I feel like it'd eventually get out. After that happens, you'll have more "family and friends" then you'll know what to deal with.In terms of winners being crazy with their money/killing themselves/going bankrupt, I would hazard to guess that they weren't quite as educated or well-grounded as a lot of other people. I mean, if an uneducated mother of 10 in a bad neighborhood (who has criminal relatives) wins the lotto....you can tell that she's fucked. But if a college educated person who has no criminal history (or criminals in their family) wins, I'd presume that they would be a lot more capable of handling the windfall.
Or maybe I'm wrong. I really never really hear about the backgrounds of the people who end up worse off after winning large jackpots.

I don't envy that life at least in the early goings after the win. The media pressure. Unclear judgment which leads to unwise decisions. Social links get worse like family, friendships, or relationships. That's for the first year or so where you don't feel you deserved it. Afterwards, then things improve if you haven't spent ridiculous amounts on materialism. Taking holidays. Giving to charity or following it up by going to that poor country where your money is helping. Having unique experiences. Saving wisely for kids or inheritance and stuff that gets mulled over with a lawyer. It's worth pondering long-term more than the early pleasures.People who win gaawwwdd the life they must have
wow.
how does Powerball work? Is this some kind of standatd lottery? Pick 6+1+1 out of 49 or something like this?
I bought two tickets, so my odds of winning are 1 in 146 million! Aww, yeah!
I'd be super worried about family being targeted by kidnappers.
I hate that legally you have to make your name public after a lottery win here in Ontario Canada. It should be optional everywhere. Shit like this ruins lives when the public find out. I'd give some money to family and then disappear to a foreign country immediately.
My name is not unique enough dammit. Even if I show up to the press conference in a Mike Rowe mask.
Sure why nothttp://www.neogaf.com/forum/showthread.php?t=1167050
If I win I'll give 500 bucks to the next 100 posters
Just remember, you're statistically more likely to die in a cat accident on the way to and from buying the lottery ticket, than you are of winning this powerball.

I wonder how many years it would take to win the simulation with odds of "1 in 175,223,510" 175,223,510 times in a row.
I work in retail and I sold over $3000 worth of Powerball tickets during my 9 hour shift. Shit is ridiculous. I got a lot of people buying $40 worth and even a few that bought $100 worth. It honestly makes me feel kind of bitter seeing people throw their money away like that, but it's good for business which means I get more hours at work so I can't complain :/
