CHARLOTTE, N.C., April 6 -- You can bid online to become part of the most extreme experience of a lifetime -- a ground level ride through the eye of a tornado. This adrenaline rush goes to the highest bidder and will be featured in a made for TV reality adventure.
Tornado Attack is accepting bids on eBay for the co-pilot of "Tornado Attack One." The winner becomes part of the "Team Tornado," which will chase tornadoes with a special vehicle engineered to enter and record inside the eye. Go to:

Driving into the eye of a tornado has been Steve Green's passion for more than ten years. "This is one of the last great frontiers in scientific discovery -- and it will be the ultimate thrill ride," says Green, age 44.
The winner will accompany the team to "Tornado Alley" to chase tornadoes. Then, along with Green, will become part of the first scientific, daredevil and humanitarian mission to record the forces of a tornado from inside the eye. Team Tornado includes meteorologists, aero-dynamics experts, and motorsports team.
Team Tornado will travel by motor coach equipped to track developing storms -- then chase them. "Last year Team Tornado spotted and chased 57 tornadoes in a 40-day period; which may be a new record," says Green.
The co-pilot will be fitted with a custom-made safety seat built by the seat designer used by Dale Earnhardt Jr. in NASCAR. Customized co-pilot's suits and helmets will be fitted at Simpson Race Products. The winner will be introduced at a news conference at Lowe's Motor Speedway on May 12 in Charlotte, North Carolina.
The winner will also have a pre-tornado instruction inside a wind tunnel used by many top NASCAR teams and experience wind speeds in excess of 100 MPH.
The Tornado Attack Vehicle was originally built as a $300,000 Baja trophy truck. It was redesigned at a cost of $250,000 to approach, attack, and enter the eye of a tornado. Its aerodynamic features make it capable of withstanding forces of an F-4 tornado (158-260 mph).
