Sucks for spindashing.

Cody and I made an arrangement regarding Layla. He keeps being Dashing, and I allow him to date her.

Spoiler for the for the fatal four way:

Daniel Bryan wins when Cody taps. Cody did a post match beatdown on Bryan until Orton made the save. That was the end of smackdown.

So the spoiler in the beginning is confusing so is next week Bryan versus Henry for the title and the winner faces Big show at TLC?

Bryan v Henry for the Big Gold Belt next week on the live Smackdown. Winner defends against Big Show at TLC in what will presumably be the Chairs match.

So he has a legitimate title shot and a MITB. Nice.

Again, I appreciate what ROH is trying to do, but there's just something missing to me. PWG and CHIKARA have that element of fun interspersed with good wrestling so that there's a balance. To me, ROH leans heavily to one side of the balance in terms of in-ring competition, but is lacking when it comes to presenting guys who can do more than just wrestle. WGTT, Eddie Edwards, Roderick Strong, and Davey Richards are all terrific wrestlers, but seeing them try to cut promos on the TV show makes me cringe a bit. But at the same time, the TV show is just starting, so there's certainly plenty of time for them to fix some things here and there over the next few months.

Way late but whatever.

I get what you mean that they lean heavily on the in-ring side of things, but I don't think it's fair to say they don't have compelling characters or feuds because of it. Their feuds are compelling BECAUSE of the focus on in-ring competition, and because they follow a logical path where wins and losses mean something and they don't drive every booking gimmick into the ground. I appreciate them for that. If I want "fun" in the classic sense there are other companies for that.

Not gonna lie, I kind of wish I was coming into this week's Smackdown blind. Usually by friday, I've already forgotten what I've read and the results but that's not happening this week. If anyone here hasn't read the spoilers yet, I would keep avoiding them.

Bryan winning is awesome. Sounds like they make him look legitimate on the show in the 4 way. Can't wait to watch this on Smackdown

I'm not seeing any news stories on it, but wikipedia has been updated to reflect that Pro Wrestling NOAH/Ring of Honor wrestler Bison Smith has died November 22, 2011 in Puerto Rico due to heart complications.

This news is coming from wikipedia and facebook at the moment, I'm sure we'll hear more.

That's terrible. He was just on Colt's podcast. He had a wife and daughter ad a kid on the way. Sad news.

I've enjoyed the ROH iPPV's I've seen and I try to grab their TV stuff off the net when I can, and whilst their wrestling is leaps and bounds above everyone else, it's almost as if there's no storylines going on at all from what I've seen. For me, there's no hook, there's very little drama or interesting characters for me to get behind so every week I feel compelled to find out what is going on. I know they have feuds and whatever, but I certainly haven't seen enough of their product to care about them. I would definitely watch it more regularly if it aired in Aus, but the best I can do is catch it online when I can. However, I really hope they get a bit more mainstream attention.

THIS. I would've (and probably still will) marked out like a little bitch to this SD had I not read the spoilers. Fuck.

Was that the episode were he talked about witnessing a Japanese wrestler die in the ring? I've listened to that episode but I'm not familiar with him beyond that.

In any case, if this turns out to be true that's awful.

They have a World Title feud between Davey Richards and Eddie Edwards going at it in their rubber match, a Tag Title feud between WGTT and The Briscoes dating back to June, a TV Title feud between Jay lethal and Mike Bennett, the whole Kevin Steen/Steve Corino/El Generico/Jim Cornette angle dating back to 2009, and Roderick Strong's open challenge all leading directly to Final Battle on December 23rd. There are storylines.

Yeah that's him. After that podcast I tracked down the NOAH match where he and colt tagged and it was a lot of fun. Kobashi chopped the living shit out of Colt, it was awesome.

RIP

I'm aware of the storylines, I just don't find them very compelling. Aside from the Steen angle, which is awesome.

Ring of Honor keeps their angles simple, they don't do big soap opera storylines. I think the Kevin Steen angle is the most involved they've got lately.

Meh, different strokes. Keeps me entertained every week without even a hint of frustration the other guys provide. That's all I need really.

Half the fun of watching WWE is being amazed at how incredibly shit it can be. And then being doubly amazed when it's awesome (MITB etc.) It's a constant talking point, especially in wrestlegaf, which makes it the easiest to follow and enjoy.

Can someone explain the Smackdown spoiler,
did mah boy D BRY cash in or not?

He cashed it in after Big Show knocked out Mark Henry with a punch who was on a crutch from the injury at survivor series. He won but Teddy long didn't count it since Henry could not compete so it didn;t count and he got the case back. He won the fatal four way and now faces Henry in a steel cage match next tuesday for the title.

You can tell that don't do much soap opera stuff because over cheesed the steen angle when they did him and his lawyers.

It was fun for a while but when twice in 2 years we see just how good they can be with the Nexus debut and CM Punk/MITB, respectively, only for them to fall deeper and deeper every time, it gets draining. Only so much fun you can have when the product is shit. At this point I feel like if something gets in the way to where I won't be able to keep up with Raw, whether that be classes, work, or other responsibilities, I probably wouldn't come back to it at all.

If the once a year highs still keep you entertained, more power to ya.

Clearly this means that
WrestleMania world title match plans aren't in the cards for Bryan any more... although given that this is the WWE this is always subject to change
.

Curious as to
what would happen to the MITB briefcase should Bryan win his earned title match next week? Does he still get to keep it as insurance for up to a year? Or does he take Henry to the limit next week, lose after a lengthy match, grab the briefcase, smash it into Henry repeatedly in frustration, cash in and then win against a now incapacitated opponent?

Wait, let dream get this straight. Big Show broke Mark Henry's leg at the PPV so he's not medically cleared to compete this week. However, his broken leg will be healed and he'll be cleared to wrestle next week?

To be honest, I listen and read a lot more about wrestling than I watch it (don't really have the time between work etc.) but I'm still hooked on the product and the characters. As far as ROH goes, they haven't really given me a reason to tune in regularly yet, but hopefully they will. All their top guys are amazing performers, but aren't draws in any way. And why isn't Cabana on TV? He is the most over indie wrestler today.

John Cena is currrently the best heel in wrestling imo.
Nobody else even comes close.

I mean, think about it... the only thing a traditional heel turn would do for Cena at this point is open up the possibility of fans in WWE's largest markets actually cheering him. What would be the point of that?

What makes Cena an even more despised heel than most others is that he possesses mystical brainwashing powers that compel face wrestlers/commentators/little Jimmies/rednecks to cheer him, respect him and tag up with him. Plus, he never puts anyone over or loses clean which just makes us hate his character all that much more.

so the dirt sheets are reporting that the itbegins2012 video is actually for
Chris Jericho

creepy kid talking about the end of the world just screams "the Undertaker" to me but January seems a bit early for him to return for a mania story line so I guess it probably will be someone else.

some to think if it.... the end of the world.... 2012.... I am sure there is a
Y2J
twist in there somewhere

Maybe they won't acknowledge Jericho's past and have him play a new harbinger of the apocalypse type of character. Mordecai 2012 baby.

But the dirt sheets reported before that video that
Chris Jericho contract discussions hit a dead end over his demands. So was that previous report another case of Jericho putting out false information again or are the dirt sheets wrong.

well sometimes WWE is prone to leaking fake info to screw with people.

Remember when Bob Barker was gonna host wrestlemania?
