Maybe Kidman was trying to springboard off the ropes for the ultimate SSP? alas we shall never know.

Near the end of WCW, Kidman started doing a springboard shooting star from the top rope to the outside, which he looked a lot more comfortable doing than the top rope SSP.

Former WWF and WCW wrestler Fred Ottman, who wrestled as Tugboat and Typhoon in the WWF and infamously as The Shockmaster in WCW, recently revealed in an interview how he upset Vince McMahon at WrestleMania 8 on April 5, 1992 in Indianapolis, Indiana.

Going into WM8, Ottman was teaming with the late John "Earthquake" Tenta as The Natural Disasters. The Disasters had just turned babyface after their manager, Jimmy Hart, betrayed them to hook up with WWF World Tag Team Champions "Money, Inc.", the team of Million Dollar Man Ted DiBiase and I.R.S. The Disasters were looking for revenge against Money, Inc. and Hart by challenging them for the titles at WM8.

Ottman said as he and Tenta were walking to the ring, they were already getting the cue to take the match home. He said when he and DiBiase locked up to begin the match, DiBiase told him, "Fuck that, we're doing our match!"

Instead of wrapping things up quickly as Vince requested, the Disasters and Money Inc. did their planned 9-minute match, which ended with DiBiase and I.R.S. running away to save their titles via countout.

Ottman said when he and Tenta got to the back, Vince was already screaming at DiBiase and I.R.S. for going overtime. When Vince got in Ottman's face, he said, "Hey boss, I was just doing what the captain of the match told us to do."

Because of this, the next match on the card (Skinner vs. Owen Hart) had to shorten their match. In a match that was supposed to go about 5 or 6 minutes, Owen defeated Skinner in a forgettable match that lasted less than two minutes.

"I have no idea how any of us didn't lose our jobs because of that," Ottman said. "Vince was so furious I thought we were all gone for sure."

The worst part about Kidman's self botch of the SSP isn't even the botch. It's Eric Bischoff not only standing up to, but knocking down both Fit Finlay and Dave Taylor without any repercussions and without hesitation.

since its slow, i dont think anyone might mind me going off topic.

I got through the first dungeon in Zelda OoT last night. The Dekku Tree. I am wondering if many more 3ds titles do the bottom screen this well. It is so easy to talk to my fairy and switch to 1st person with my left hand, and manage inventory with my right hand using the touch screen. The control scheme seems perfect for this device.

edit

as for the dungeon. i caught myself thinking too hard about one of the puzzles. I am used to Tomb Raider telling me to run very long locations in order to solve a puzzle, which I ended up doing at one point inside the Dekku Tree. All I ended up having to do was inside that very same room.

Guys, I'm looking to rewatch old Raws/SD/PPV from a certain point. Does anyone have any recommendations for where to start? (dates included please)

I watched the Invasion stuff last year, so not that.

Thanks!

02 and surprisingly, 2003 are really good. I watched a the whole years of Raw/SD/PPV for those years. 2002 is probably the most stacked roster of all time. 2003 seemed unbearable at the time, but there is a ton of great wrestling that year.

2003 is when I stopped watched regularly.

Beginning of 1997. I started February 2011 and am still making my way through lol... currently at No Mercy 2000 (October).

The evolution from shitty raw to attitude era god tier Raw is sublime to say the least.

2002 is pretty underrated, some seem to give it a lot of shit, well the first half was a bit grim but from the build to Summerslam and onwards it's pretty great.
Summerslam and Survivor Series in particular were great that year and then you had the "Smackdown Six", good times.

On another note, watching NXT and it's funny to see the return of the bounty storyline being used on Big E of all people from the vast wealth of Vickie Guerrero.

I agree. So much star power. It was the Attitude Era, ECW and most of WCW sprinkled with some legends. Too much talent and could have been some amazing booking. Best roster of all time.

Preview;

. IWGP Jr. Heavyweight Tag Team Title: Forever Hooligans (Rocky Romero & Alex Koslov) (c) vs Time Splitters (Alex Shelley & KUSHIDA)

The Jr. Heavyweight Tag Title Match kicks off the iPPV and is sure to be a fast paced, action packed match, as the Forever Hooligans set out to defend their belts against Time Splitters. At the last iPPV Koslov & Romero scored the victory over Shelley & KUSHIDA, but the Time Splitters earned the right to challenge for the belts one more time after defeating Apollo 55 in the finals of the Super Jr. Tag League earlier this month.

. 5 vs 5 Tag: Manabu Nakanishi, Jushin Thunder Liger, Tiger Mask, Negro Casas & Captain New Japan vs. CHAOS (Toru Yano, Takashi Iizuka, Tomohiro Ishii, YOSHI-HASHI & Jado)

Second match in (and easily the most throwaway match on the card) we have a classic face vs heel multi-man tag, featuring veteran favourites such as Liger, Casas & Nakanishi taking on a CHAOS team consisting of tough and unpredictable heels like Yano, Ishii & Iizuka.

. Yuji Nagata & Ryusuke Taguchi vs Suzuki-gun (Minoru Suzuki & Taichi)

Veteran Yuji Nagata teams with 2012 Best of the Super Juniors winner Ryusuke Taguchi to take on Suzuki-gun leader Minoru Suzuki and the flamboyant Taichi. Fresh off a failed attempt at Hiroshi Tanahashi's IWGP Heavyweight Title, Suzuki will be out to reassert his dominance here, but Taichi may continue to be a weak link against a tough pairing of Nagata & Taguchi.

. IWGP Tag Team Title: K.E.S. (Lance Archer & Davey Boy Smith Jr.) (c) vs TenKoji (Hiroyoshi Tenzan & Satoshi Kojima)

At the last iPPV the Killer Elite Squad of Lance Archer & Davey Boy Smith Jr. defeated TenKoji to win the IWGP Tag Team Titles, and now in the rematch Tenzan & Kojima seek to reclaim their belts. However, there is some dissension between the veteran pair, as Kojima has signed to face Takeshi Morishima for the GHC Heavyweight Title at Pro-Wrestling NOAH's December 9th Sumo Hall show. Tenzan feels that Kojima needs to be fully focussed on the IWGP Tag Titles, as if they fail in their bid to reclaim the gold the only route to another title shot would be through winning the upcoming Global Tag League. Also, if Kojima wins the GHC Heavyweight Title, then he will defend it against a NOAH representative on New Japan's huge January 4th Tokyo Dome show, meaning Tenzan may be left without a spot on New Japan's biggest show of the year.

. IWGP Jr. Heavyweight Title: Low Ki (c) vs Prince Devitt

After largely dominating the Jr. Heavyweight division for much of 2010 and 2011, Prince Devitt's second title reign was ended by Low Ki and Devitt was injured in the process. Now fully healed, Devitt again faces Low Ki, the new Jr. Heavyweight champion who defeated Kota Ibushi at the last iPPV to win the title. There is little love lost between Devitt and Ki, and Devitt will be keen to regain the title he held for so long in recent years, but he knows better than most just how dangerous a competitor Low Ki is.

. Special Tag Match: Togi Makabe & Wataru Inoue vs Laughter7 (Kazushi Sakuraba & Katsuyori Shibata)

Katsuyori Shibata was one of the most promising young wrestlers in Japan when he quit New Japan and turned to MMA. Now, he has returned with MMA legend and UWFi veteran Kazushi Sakuraba, and the two (collectively known as Laughter7) have found the state of competition to be wanting. After defeating Makabe & Inoue on two seperate occasions, the shoot-style duo have expressed their dissatisfaction at being made to wrestle them again, and will be looking to earn victory in even more decisive fashion.

. Tokyo Dome IWGP Heavyweight Title Contendership: Kazuchika Okada (c) vs Hirooki Goto

Kazuchika Okada has made an impact like no other in 2012, and he will seek to cap off a spectacular year by defeating Tanahashi at the Tokyo Dome and reclaiming the IWGP Heavyweight Title. However, standing in his way is a man who Okada suffered defeat to during this year's G1 Climax Tournament; Hirooki Goto. While Okada was the champion, Goto put up an excellent fight, but ultimately fell short, now, with a G1 victory over Okada under his belt, Goto aims to ruin Okada's quest to reclaim the IWGP Heavyweight Title.

. IWGP Intercontinental Title: Shinsuke Nakamura (c) vs Karl Anderson

Shinsuke Nakamura, the leader of the CHAOS faction, defeated Hirooki Goto on two occasions to win and retain the IWGP Intercontinental Title, but faces a tough challenge here against 'Machine Gun' Karl Anderson, who has beaten Nakamura on multiple occasions in the past. However, there is added pressure on Nakamura as the meteoric rise of Kazuchika Okada has cast doubts over Nakamura's leadership of CHAOS. Nakamura defeated his stable mate Okada in the G1 tournament, but while he is the Intercontinental champion, Okada is set to challenge for the Heavyweight championship on the biggest show of the year. Nakamura needs to retain his title to ensure further doubt is not cast upon his leadership.

. IWGP Heavyweight Title: Hiroshi Tanahashi (c) vs Yujiro Takahashi

Tanahashi, arguably the MVP of 2012, comes into this match off the back of an impressive victory against Minoru Suzuki in a match of the year classic at the last iPPV, and while many will not see Yujiro Takahashi as a legitimate threat to Tanahashi's title, he does hold a victory over Tanahashi in the G1 tournament and will be looking to not only win the gold, but to prove that he can more than hold his own in a main event calibre match.

Really looking forward to a lot of the matches there, especially Ki vs Devitt, Okada vs Goto & Nakamura vs Anderson. Should be an awesome 4 hours of wrestling :)
