thats probably more stormtrooper costumes than they used in the actual film, what with them mostly being CG.

Uh...thery were suits in the original trilogy.

If you're talking about the Clone Troopers in the prequels, they are 100% CG. There wasn't a single suit made for either Episode II or III.

Lucasfilm used the 501st to build the first real Clone Trooper suit that Lucasarts used at E3 last year for Republic Commando.

Sad, so sad...
how excactly is that sad? no more sad than historical battle recreations?

the entire concept of the 501st is pretty cool. a bunch of guys who all have the same interests and they group together to do what they couldn't as individuals, aka make a huge battalion of stormtroopers.

one the one hand - yes it is really nerdy. but one the other hand I'd really like to see them walking throught the streets (and the reactions of the people) :lol

They look like a bunch of terrorists. I would've called the police.
Imagine if someone didn't know what a Storm Trooper was - they would've thought that their city was being invaded by some iPod army or something..

Everybody wants to be Vader. :D

You can't help but be impressed with the detail and effort that went into making those suits. Very cool imho. If it's nerdy, so be it. I've been a Star Wars nerd since I was a kid, and it's never going to change.

The Emperor didn't want all of those troopers having guns, considering how well the can handle their weapons. Someone remind them to watch for low haning doors while we're at it. :)

Blasters aren't issued to every Stormtrooper, it's Empire policy. Those without a blaster are instructed to wait until they are able to appropriate one off their nearest dead comrade.

...

They don't have to wait long.

There's quite a few Boba Fetts in the back left, as well.

I guess I can understand somebody who's really into Star Wars wanting to make themselves a cool Vader or stormtrooper uniform, but who the hell decides "I wanna be an Imperial bureaucrat!"

Some people just like to put in the 9 to 5 job and not have too much pressure.

Very cool.

The Stormtrooper outfit is IMO the best piece of design to come out of Star Wars.

Right, same thing!

Jim: Ewwww, you had sex with a goat!
Bill: Uh huh, and I suppose sex with your wife is just all gravy, right?? :rolleyes

It looks like everyone traded in their Darth Maul outfits after he had two lines of dialogue and got chopped in half.

Full credit to most of them for sticking with original trilogy stuff :)

I don't see a problem with this, BTW. Not something I'd do, but it's neat.

EDIT: BTW, what's the deal with that little midget Boba Fett in the right side of the picture (just above one of the clone trooper guys)

Since this old post was about the 501st, this fits here. Some members of the 501st/Rebel Legion took over a small neighborhood on Father's Day when they got together for the So Cal 501st squad leader's going away party:

Even stopping cars: "Can I see your identification?"

The funniest part was a kid who walked out onto his balcony, saw a group of Stormtroopers walking down the road with Chewie and shouted "HOLY SHIT!"
