You're right, they'll price cut because it'll move more units than it would have otherwise.
This is not how it works

lol, I'm sure they're absolutely reeling from this one month of being randomly and slightly outsold. Your vengeance has been felt Gurish.
Wow. The PC version of Mortal Kombat X is so bad that NPD isn't even acknowledging it.
??
I didn't realize this was a Japanese vs American thing. And Sony dropped the price massively for PS3 and Vita in their first couple years.
Amazing for Xenoblade
Guys our consoles sold like shit. Please understand.
Or something like that .
My sarcasm meter explodedps4 not winning april npd is obviously the result of the constant delays of the few exclusives announced by sony, refusal to remain priced competitively against xbox due to sony's obvious cockiness, relying on third parties and indies, lack of meaningful system software updates; have you seen the screen shots image quality on xbox one? ps4's only critically acclaimed exclusive so far is incredibly niche it is not hard to see why ps4 did not maintain momentum, the better console won this month
Traditional handheld gaming is on a decline even more on NA ,N3DS XL was always going to sell to the already existing userbase, wich is not very happy with the available model,i wonder how the NX can help this.Yeah, 114k is pathetic when you factor in the new SKU. Clearly the New 3DS didn't reinvigorate the platform like Nintendo expected it to. At least Xenoblade kinda did well...?
I wonder if:
PS4 March+April > Xbone March+April?
Bloodborne "stole" some of April's sales, basically.

I think GT5rologue came that month. Probably helped the PS3 sales more than Bloodborne did for PS4if thats true then thats not good for anybody, the ps4 second april actually sold less than the ps3's second april, there might be a serious decline in interest in the us for consoles.
but damn yall need to chill with my post, i just stated my opinion and i was merely talking about how they didn't act at all towards the one's price drops, they'll be fine once they drop their price. christ lol

Sony had a marketing partnership with MK not MS. MS was a tournament sponsor. Get your facts straight.
People are still going nuts over Minecraft. Amazing.

Lolmust explain why Microsoft lost March.
The same thing that happens with most big releases. The people who wanted the game bought the system before the release of said game.
I believe BB did boost sales, in March. They just calmed down in the month of April. Not sure what is hard to understand about that.
(Bold mine)Using these parameters, we estimate both the monthly effects and the cumulative effect of superstar introductions on hardware unit sales, from their introduction at t until five months after their introduction (t + 5). The monthly effect peaks during one to two months after introduction and then decays. Remember that software unit sales flatten around the same time. A superstar software title increases hardware unit sales by 14%(167,000 units) on average during these first six months
At least Xbox One won one of the months. Good for Microsoft.
So, is Halo dad or dead? I'm confused
the best part is they have won what? 3 months in the last 18 or something? Now that they have won April its time to blast the war horns! PRICE DROP SONY. etc etc.
consoles wars... smh
Considering all things, Bloodborne did decently, its sales were front loaded but sold more than i million if i remember, those sales are very good for a new ip , not "evergreen" kind of title, there are many games i wish sold as well as Bloodborne.

How many yearly franchises sell 20m copies? Call of Duty and...?

It is. For it to be false the PS4 would've had to have sold less than 83k.
Well the 3DS is up 65% YTD. Just imagine if they didn't release the new 3DS.Yeah, 114k is pathetic when you factor in the new SKU. Clearly the New 3DS didn't reinvigorate the platform like Nintendo expected it to. At least Xenoblade kinda did well...?

Hopefully From is pissed that their masterpiece already fell off the charts and makes their next game multiplat. Would have loved a 60fps Bloodborne.
yea, the definition of an evergreen game
Geez. I didn't realize the PS4 had that great of March.
Sony announced that Batman bundle way too damn early.
May sales are going to abysmal unless The Witcher provides a decent boost.
This thread already :lolHopefully From is pissed that their masterpiece already fell off the charts and makes their next game multiplat. Would have loved a 60fps Bloodborne.
Joke post?It will be nice once the NPD start tracking digital sales; because not alot can be read into these figures until then. It's handy for the hardware sales figures though

Not according to the research I've read.
Your second quote however I'd agree with.
(Bold mine)
Of course the paper is a few years old, it's possible that customers have shifted their behaviour. But we can't recalculate without more data than NDP is willing to hand out, so if anybody knows some grad students .
But you said
I'm not sure if you know what you're arguing.
What you said most recently is perfectly reasonable, but the bolded is complete bullshit and you most likely know that.
