NPD Sales Results for March 2015 [Up1: Nintendo numbers, PS4 placing]

So happy that Bloodborne did well, really hope that it's able to eventually pass 2.5 million worldwide when all is said and done which I think is doable. Main thing is that hopefully From and Sony are happy with the number because the numbers don't mean much without context. Also the game was the best selling title on PSN for the month so it might have past 400K for the month and that's basically worst case scenario that is only did 11k on PSN.

Good job Bloodborne, but I expected it'd do well.

Really shocked at Mario Party 10 after all the negative reviews. I guess Amiibo really did help push that game. The dude at EBgames told me today it's been selling out like crazy.

SHIT!!!

You can deep fry the hat if you want to Mi'lady.

BloodBorne doing almost 400K is kinda crazy...

MLB doing great.

Mario Party doing great.

Sony and MS need to bone and make a platform together next gen, no reason to split the user base anymore.

BB Crows are awesome...cheers

They suuuuccccckkkkk!

Stupid things are so easy to dodge around that I get complacent and if they rake you with their claws while doing their little hover/fly attack it can quite literally do something like 500+ damage :(

Could it be a sign that Nintendo is getting better at promoting their biggest titles even on Wii U (at least in US)?

I'd say so Mpl. To those who are saying "oh it's Mario", before Mario Kart 8, the launch #s for Wii U titles were generally terrible.

The ok ones:
NSMBU = ~243K
Pikmin 3 = 110K
Mario 3D World - 220K
Nintendo Land - bundled

Basically everything else was a huge bomb.

After MK8
Mario Kart 8 & Smash did very well
Hyrule ~ 190K, Toad like 250K, Bayo 2 & Kirby didn't do swimmingly, but at least both were over 50K.

It's all still a far cry from W101's 20K, Party U & Fit U utterly flopping, and third party titles selling like 5-10K in their first months before MK8. The MK8 and Smash combo has seemingly done quite a bit for Wii U's software sales (relatively speaking).

Bloodborne did amazingly well and it deserves it.
Sony has created their next big IP after The Last of Us and there's not doubt that Yoshida will immediatly greenlight a sequel.
Too bad that things didn't go as well with The Order, the game had a lot of potential and Rad is a talented developer but unfortunately they made the terrible choice to design it as an interactive movie, something that was received in a very negative way. If only they had sticked to the Uncharted/Gears formula making even just a clone with a different setting/universe and amazing graphics things would have gone in a total different way. Time will tell if they will be given a second chance.

We're talking about a port of a PSP game though, and one that was never particularly well-loved outside of a small-ish cult of aficionados. Reviews were fairly divisive, too. I'm surprised it did as well as it did.

Which suggests we're actually talking about a demo hitting the top ten.

If you are (or think you will be) on the winning side, why would you make plan to split half of your revenue to your competitor next generation?

Wow, Nintendo's doing well. I myself am playing more Nintendo games lately than I have in previous recent years as well... I enjoy them a lot and want Nintendo to keep making great games like these so I'm happy to see that their sales are increasing too.
