I think the huge growing Wii install base will be good for games like Metroid. It did well, but i expect it to keep selling slowly throughout its lifespan especially after the price drop.

I don't know that many people who said that, but it did pretty well compared to 360 and blew PS3 out of the water. I'd say Activision is very pleased with its performance.

Knew PGR4 would have bad numbers:

1) Came out in month with way too many good games.

2) Should have been PGR, next year Forza, next year PGR and repeat. Stupid to release them in same year.

Forza was originally planned for 2006, like you said in 2), and MS were planning for this sequence: PGR3 in 2005, Forza 2 in 2006, PGR4 in 2007 etc.

Much like Viva Pinata, PGR4 is getting railroaded by the big game shooter (Gears, Halo 3).

Deadlock? This was advertised and promoted and even REVIEWED as a massively high profile and excellent exclusive PS3 game. Was Deadlocked given the same treatment for PS2??

What are you saying? The NPD period went through Nov. 3rd. 40GB officially launched on Nov. 2nd and some retailers broke that release date early (Like Target.) There are units sold included in that. Sure it's offset by nobody wanting to buy prior to its release, but 40GB figures are not completely absent.

from 29th until 12th, PS3 sold 175k... Obviously some of that went into October, but also obviously not a whole lot, lol.

Poor RC! Hopefully pick up from holiday sales will help it sell decently over holidays, with nudge from marketing.

Ouch at PS3's GH and R&C. 74.5k is really low. What are PS3 users buying? It is like everyone has a PS3 but buying games for their Wii or 360.

And ouch at MP3's numbers. November and December will give a good boost though as everyone gets in gear for Christmas shopping. You can add +1 for November NPD as I get my MP3 copy next week with TRU B2G1 deal.

I keep telling you. Except for about 200,000 of them, they all have 360's. It's the same userbase that had no interest in Blue Dragon or Viva Pinata, no matter how good they were or how awesome they looked.

I thought it would have been closer to the 360 version. The amazon charts had it higher for the most part, and it was up there for a really long time. It is also the type of game that is perfect for the Wii player base, it is not competing for players with Rock Band, and it did not have an earlier version like the 360 or an expansion pack like the PS2 that came out less then a year earlier. And lets face it, the Wii has not had a ton of stellar games in recent months for it to compete with for consumer dollars.

40k is not well, it's dead. The wii install base has exploded by a million over the last two months and both months saw over 50% drops for MP3. Trickle sales aren't going to tell Nintendo "make more of this"; most of the money a publisher gets comes from the initial sales when they charge the most to the retailer for the game.

No, it came out when Halo came out. That said, last month wasn't too good, either. PGR is basically dead. Long live Forza.
