Those PS4 bundles are mostly pre-orders for this month, how do they change October NPD?

The Amazon charts were extremely predictable for October IMO. Halo 5 and Uncharted bundles were neck and neck, couple that with the pre-orders of Halo 5 from previous months and it predicted a XB1 win (by a small margin I imagine).

Very good point. Amazon seems a good indicator of hardware (not software) sales. You just have to take into account preorders. For reference here are the PS4 October preorders that ranked in the top 100 on Amazon. Note that there were no XB1 preorder consoles that ranked for the month.

• 26: 500GB Limited Edition Star Wars Battlefront Console
• 39: 1TB Call of Duty: Black Ops 3 Limited Edition Bundle
• 89: 500GB Star Wars Battlefront Bundle

All these consoles will show up in November. I think what happened is that a good portion of PS4 sales simply shifted from October to November. The same thing happened to XB1 consoles shifting from previous months into October.

this is how i felt when they announced the price drop. having the 3 in front of the price was going to be way more important than any amount they could cut the system down to. even if it was $329.99 it wouldn't be in the same weight class as $299.99.

that said, i think the holiday stuff will be the sweet spot for a lot of folks.

yep. I guess we will have to wait and see if we're right about the next price cut (when it eventually gets down to $299) I hope I am wrong though.

Yep, currently, I'd say it's around a third of global sales. It might even be less than that as the gen progresses.

Overshipping is actually quite a subjective term. I don't think there are more than 1.5 million PS4's in stores, so I think 27.8 million sold through by the end of September is reasonable.

it really isn't. I remember how GAF was convinced that this game will sell shit ton because so many 360 converts and Uncharted is now bigger than Halo and PS4 userbase is big etc. etc.
Its 8th on month of Oct. With almost all month tracking. This isn't great by any standards. I doubt if it did more than 200k.

Pretty much. Unless you consider a 50% decline on Halo retail sales solid. I mean it's a solid number. Just not Halo solid. And yes, there's digital+bundles and the 5 days of tracking. Attribute that how you will. Yoshi did well too I'm guessing, based solely on software charts placement. Sports games still dominate in NA. There's still that.

Current gen consoles are up 12% too, though. So the bottom is getting stronger I guess. To be expected with PS4 coming in second and XB1 taking the top spot. Wii U gonna Wii U.
