Not just extra gratuitous, but extra hidden as well. Sure, you have the shower scene, or the scene where her dress gets blasted off and those are amazing scenes, but those are front and center. I'm talking about all of the hidden scenes that only lasted for a frame. One of the shots there has the clear outline of her vagina through her panties and it's on screen for less than a second. I have a theory on that. It was a ploy to sell more laserdiscs. See, if you pause a vhs, the image gets too distorted/fuzzy to see clearly, but if you were to drop the around $50 for the laserdisc, you get the extra goodness.

Interesting, certainly plausible given they work by the millisecond. I don't know if it is really related, but I do some graphic work myself and I like to leave little surprises for those who are really looking. Wouldn't put it past the animator(s).
