UPDATE: GET THE HOTFIX INSTEAD

I'm on the new hotfix driver with my RTX 3090 and haven't had any issues.
However, I've never seen nvidia release so many hotfix drivers before like they have in 2025. Not sure what has changed over there...

OP may want to add the hotfix to his post.

This hotfix addresses the following:
  • [RTX 50 series] Some games may display shadow flicker/corruption after updating to GRD 576.02 [5231537]
  • Lumion 2024 crashes on GeForce RTX 50 series graphics card when entering render mode [5232345]

When I do this update, I plan to use the nvidia installer. Any suggestions on how to best use that.

It appears that it downloads the drivers directly. My question is, is there a way I can prevent Windows from updating the drivers? That is really one feature of windows that I truly hate. having to disable internet to prevent windows from installing when you want a fresh install.

I also plan to remove the nvidia app. The only useful feature it provides is DLSS swapping and that can be done with DLSS Swapper.

I'm totaly fine here with the previous version. Will wait for a few weeks to see if this new version has even more problems, about which people can only find out after installing and testing.

Installed. Seems fine. No black nor blue screens, not even a small fire. Guys, this might be a good one.

Same. I believe in the "if it ain't broke, don't fix it" policy. At least for a few weeks until more issues come to surface and hotfixes arrive. Happy with the current version which is working perfectly fine for me.

Just saw it and installed it. I have random black screen flashes on my monitor since i got the 5070ti. Really hope this will fix this shit... Lots of other fixes too.

Ever since I got my 5090 I have had awful floaty input lag on both my mouse and my Xbox wireless controller that comes and goes, it will feel snappy and work for 15-20 mins and then just start feeling floaty and almost like Vsync has been turned on, just a little more subtle than that.

I have tried everything, nothing is working to fix it, not even the new drivers.

I had a 3080 before and didn't have a single issue with input lag with that card, no idea what could be causing it.

I've had that in several games, but its been on my 9070XT, specifically Ratchet and Clank Rift Apart. Really annoying behavior.

Thanks for posting, I downloaded these but hadn't bothered to check the release notes. Good to know they've been busy since it's been a month since the last driver release.

I haven't had a single issue with my asus tuf 5090 oc, so will probably wait a bit until I download this new driver.

I always install the drivers the same way and never had practically any issue with them.

1. I use DDU software. I select to reboot into safemode, then in safemode I uninstall the old drivers (restart after the uninstallation). (In the settings of DDU, you can select to block driver updates by MS, so check that)
2. I download the driver from nvidia website. With Winrar I then extract the downloaded file and delete all folders except NVI2 and DisplayDriver. If you need physx (you can keep the folder physx too). You also have to edit setup.cfg file. Open it with notepad and scroll all the way down and delete three rows that are above line that has "eula" in it. Then just install the drivers. I always do clean installation.
With installation like that, there is no issue (DLSS, drivers, framegen), everything is working normally. If you need nvidia app, I cannot help, I don't use that. Also I'm not sure about some nvidia filters or how it is called, that you can inject into games, if it is still even a thing.
I'm not at home now until friday, but if you will want to try install the drivers like that, you can pm me, if you will have questions. I'm not at my pc rn, so I cannot be more precise about some details, so what I said is from my memory.

What? I just download and install in the Nvidia app. I use DDU before installing a new GPU, but before a driver update feels like lots of work.

As I said, that is how I do that. Ofc it is probably not needed and there are little to no benefits, but as I mentioned, I did not have any issue with drivers fort last few years, so I'm not gonna change the way I do that. And this process is actually pretty fast, takes about 10 minutes of my time, so not a big problem :)

Do you install yours the normal way or using nvidia display installer that cuts out a lot of the bloat.
In the past I always used DDU and then NVCleanstall. But then I got lazy... so now I just use the Nvidia App and express install... lol

What is the last best driver version for a 4080?
I don't know, I have a 4070 TI Super. But 572.XX made my system unstable so I rolled back to 566.36 and haven't updated since. I dropped around 8% in graphics performance in 3DMark benchmarks with 572. When it didn't crash my PC. It went back to where it was before on 566 with no crashes.

My GPU is paired with a Ryzen 9 7900x if that makes a difference.

Just for the record, I've been rocking the 572.83 since it came out on my 4070 Super (non Ti) and have had 0 issues so far.

I have no problems with my 5070 Ti so far so its a big question mark if I even roll the dice on these

I'm thinking of going ahead and upgrading to this version to see what happens. Worst case I roll back again, but I'm missing out on some stuff as-is.

Same here, but I plan to use NVinstall and not bother with the nvidia app. Nvidia control panel works just fine and DLSS Swapper has me covered on getting the Transformer model into games.

crossing fingers.

installed the drivers.

i used to have a weird issue when i was connecting my 240 4k monitor that my screen randomly once every day / long hours flash black screen for a second and come back on.

happened with the spare 3080ti i had, with the 4080s, 5090 astral and 5090 Fe.

so far, nothing. only FE card I have left.

Ive had that issue forever with my 4090. ALthough it stopped in recent months. Many people blamed DSC

Been on fresh install of windows 11 and last previous Nvidia driver for my 5090.

The only issues I had noticed was the steam client had missing bits in it that if I moved it to my other screen and back again would fix. Also the toolbar on the second screen when I set as primary would have a white stripe on it.

Updated to the be driver yesterday and will check today to see if those are fixed.

Edit: both fixed

Nice, but most of it is for 50 gpus, i will stay on an older driver with my 4070. Since I use older drivers I have no more crashes.

what is DSC and how can it be fixed ? ( so far the driver kinda fixed it for me but just in case tomorrow its not actually fixed )
DSC is Display Stream Compression. Its a visually lossless compression algorithm that enables much higher framerates and resolutions beyond what normal bandwidth allows.

For example 4K/240 Hz with 10-bit color at 444 subsampling requires roughly 80 Gbps of bandwidth, while HDMI 2.1 maxes out at 40 GBps and DP1.4 maxes out at 32 GBps. DSC allows for monitors to compress that bandwidth into a way that is visually lossless. Nvidia's 5000 series actually features DP 2.1, which allows for 80 GBps uncompressed.

DSC was believed to cause black screen issues.

If I have a 5090 and ?the new LG 45 5K2K would DP2.1 do that? also need a special cable?

What do you want to know?
The amount of fixes in the list are a result of a long pause between this and the previous driver releases and the fact that the majority of issues there are actually covered by a couple of bugfixes - i.e. the list is (intentionally maybe) inflated by listing issues stemming from the same bug several times.
The new driver is fine, the previous driver was also fine.
What's happening is some people trying to gaslight Nvidia GPU owners into them having bad drivers all of a sudden when the drivers is actually about the same as it has been for years. There are always driver issues, this driver also have them.

I'm not updating until I have finished the games I'm playing now (MH Wilds and Indiana Jones). All is working fine for me under the current drivers (572.83, 5080).
