Hmm might do this at some point if I snag a 1070 FE tomorrow
Shame for the premium price though as the price difference to a "normal" reference card would pay for the Accelero.

Seeing the EVGA SC in stock at Newegg... Surely not for long.

I missed the SC ;(
Are you that are seeing these cards come in stock doing alerts of some kind or just continuously refreshing the page
I was pissed I got an FE yesterday, but now I have it and it's awesome.
The ones going up right now are just the re-lists from voided/cancelled orders, so they're going to go up in very small spurts just like the EVGA SC yesterday. The bulk of their order sold between 1230 and 130.
I just cancelled my FTW pre-order. I got an EVGA SC+ BP 980ti for cheap a few weeks back ($410) and was planning on selling it off when they got around to shipping the FTW. Until we have more of these in the wild and more data, I'm in no rush.
In fact, at this point it's more likely I skip the 1080 and wait until whatever comes next, hopefully there's more competition at this price bracket in another year. I'm satisfied with the purchase I did make, but for all the hype I had going into this I can't help but be a bit bummed out.
12:30 and 12:32*
Are there any Gigabyte G1 reviews? I'm about to cancel my FTW preorder, fed up of the bullshit and OCUK making interest off my money! Does the G1 stay cool?
It really does look like the cooler solution on the FE was a bit flawed, especially considering the price.
Yes there are a couple around. Seems to stay cool and pretty quiet - a gaffer has one too I think? Or someone on r/nvidia at least. Seemed to hold around 2025MHz on their sample at around 70c I think
I ordered one from Ebuyer as Amazon had no clue when theirs were coming in. Haven't cancelled that order yet as it was £559 and Ebuyer was £600. But my Ebuyer one shipped already and will be here tomorrow.
Will return it or sell it on if I grab a 1070 tomorrow, or my Amazon one ships
Speaking of the 1070, do you exactly when it goes on sale tomorrow?
I"m not sure how it's flawed. Blower coolers have pros and cons. If you want a ton of cooling then you have to listen to some air moving noises. They've done away with the fans whining and such for the most part.
The default curves prioritize quiet over cool, but keep the card at safe temps. Want a cooler card, tweak the fan curve. Not sure how it's flawed.
If it can't keep the advertised "boost" speeds outside of the box without user tweaking, then I think it's a flawed design. I heard something about them updating the driver to help the situation, but those initial reports about throttling were concerning, especially when we are seeing partner blower cards that do not have that issue and are being sold for a lower price.
apparently 6 AM Pacific...but some sites could go earlier or later depending on when switches get flipped and such
Default fan curve for me keeps the card between ~1780 and ~1820MHz
It probably has to do with how their case is cooled and ambient temps if they aren't reaching the advertised boost clock.
Got my MSI Gaming X and ended up doing pretty much what I always do after installing a brand new expensive GPU: I sat down in front of my display asking myself "so............what now..?" - and then a sinking feeling from realizing that I spent a ton of money on something that couldn't possible return a tangible feeling of "wow! it was SO much worth it!"
But I know from experience it'll get better :-D
Edit: A heads up to Vive owners; The GTX 1080 "broke" the Vive display port to breakout box connection (widespread issue). Spent an hour troubleshooting....... Had to buy a displayport to hdmi and connect that to my monitor instead, and then use the hdmi cable between the card and the breakout box.

After using an MSI Founders Edition for awhile, this card is doing great things on my X34. However, I am for sure going to buy another to SLI. Would like 100FPS at all times on Ultra with this crazy monitor. This will be the first time I am not going to SLI the same brand of card. Does that work? Or am I going to need to buy another founders card?
Fuck. Is this software fixable?

Do it.Oh god guys I don't know what to do... I recently bought a Benq 1080p 144hz monitor but I'm going to be picking up a 1080 in the US this July. I have the option to refund the Benq and get a different monitor, I'm looking at the Acer G257HU (25" 1440p monitor).
If I'm honest I haven't seen a massive difference over 60-70 fps so I'm find of thinking of taking the refund and going for the higher res... any suggestions?
You know I think I might... god I love amazons return policy!Do it.
I'm gonna do it!Absolutely do it. Your GTX1080 will deliver you 60fps at 1440p without issue, and the bump in resolution from 1080p to 1440p is substantial.

Actually I have another question, I'll probably be limited to cash when buying in the US (on vacation) any idea if/when the likes of Best Buy will start getting non Fe cards (not going on holiday 'till July)?
I like to fly by the seat of my pants, I have no problems shopping elsewhere if I can, I'll check out stores around Orlando for any Microcenter / CompUSA (I thought they went bust?) stores. Thanks man.Absolutely do it. Your GTX1080 will deliver you 60fps at 1440p without issue, and the bump in resolution from 1080p to 1440p is substantial.
Yikes. That could be iffy if Nvidia is still having problems keeping up with supply. Depending upon where you're going to be, you might check for Microcenter or CompUSA stores. They might be more likely to have AIB cards in July than Best Buy.
So I'm looking to build a new PC soon since my laptop is about to give at any minute. When do you guys think that regular GTX 1080 cards will be readily available without rushing to get it?
It's a boost speed. If it was advertised to be a base clock, then they'd call it a base clock.
Edit: And though it will vary by card, by game, by load.. my FE card is pretty much always above boost clock. I have to load it to a sustained 100% over time to get it below boost clock. Doing this requires a synthetic benchmark.
Ok great, looks like the only one I'll be able to buy relatively easy, my preferred choice has gone out of the window for necessity it seems! I actually wanna use my Vive.

is it worth getting a 1080 if I only have a 2500k? My 2500k is OC's to 4.4ghz just wondering if I would be better to upgrade my mobo, ram (from 8GB to 16GB) and CPU to a 6600k. I currently have a 970 if that matters.

What resolution/refresh rate?
2560 x1080 60hz
After watching Jayztwocents MSI 1080 review, that pretty much confirms to me that I need not to worry about buying a higher end card. When the time comes, I will just find the best value custom cooler card.
Bros!
Looks like we missed it
